africanusvu:Hahaaahaaa Emperor Pompeii indeed! and you are Plinny the Great? |

Well is OK, I don't the religion you are into but if you are actually a Christian, I don't really think these things should worry you. else Christ coming will amount to nothing if after all we still feel inferior to the whites. Ephesians 3:6, John 2:2, Acts 10:34-35. and so many verses in the bible were explicit enough for a Christian to know where he stands. and talking about slavery, history already shows that slavery is a cultural practice that permeates every race, even in our place, before the whites our were already engaged in the trade of humans; someone like King Jaja of Opobo was sold not to whites but to a black man, and thee exists other instances. thanks again anyway let me get to work |
Dandsome:Hahaahaa! little wonder they say a picture can speak over a thousand words, and I add It can as well mislead in a thousand ways! that guy was actually one of the crane operators and that pic was taken the moment he was descending from the high pedestal after the mounting, and this happened to be the easiest way down for him as at the moment. let's not be too quick to judge... thanks anyway for your comments, nice rhetorics I must say! |
blingxx:a little encouragement will not hurt my friend... big things start small! |
NatureBoy91:OK now because it is the Cherubs it is no longer. image? and now it is one of the Trinity? hahaa... ho did you even come to believe in the Trinity, which happens to be one of the core doctrines of the Catholic Church? |
doctorgold:Hahaa! he's actually one of the crane operators am sure he trusted his tools! |
femi4:Exodus 25:18-22. even the ark had an image! |
correctguy0900:my guy, you see in the art of sculpture, what makes a masterpiece is not necessarily the colour finishing but rather, the strength of forms and the handling of the subject matter by the sculptor. thanks for your comment though. |
Abagworo:then tallest in a Nigerian higher institution, you can as well beat that! *winks* |
NatureBoy91:to all you shouting Idols! I have only this answer : Exodus 25:18-22 |
VeecThorr:Veec having read the genealogy of Jesus Christ, you could easily tell there is no way He could have been black, sentiments aside. |
InvertedHammer:hmmm OK Mr Hammer but art is prehistoric and it transcends every religion, race, and culture |
Young03:oooh now I get you, well symbolism has always been instrumental to the teachings of the Roman Catholics, so therefore I was contracted to erect the statue at a strategic position in the church (Christ the King catholic chaplaincy) which is situated directly adjacent to the Owerri mosque. |
Details of the face!

The churches have been kind enough to patronise us in the past few years, and grateful we are. Yet our satisfaction will indeed come when Nigerians will become fully aesthetically aware of their living environment and artistically literate! Till then, we ll keep pushing...

I was reading an art history book on western art and I came across the word jamb, surprised, I had to look up the meaning. And this is what I got: pronunciation (IPA): /dʒæm/ noun (plural jambs) (architecture) The vertical components that form the sides of a door frame, window frame, or fireplace, or other opening in a wall. (mining) Any thick mass of rock that prevents miners from following the lode or vein... And so probably, while some people pass through the door, others simply hit the rocks! While some among the later will continue drilling like resilient miners, others quickly throw in the towel. Lol!

osmoseas:Thanks Henry |
chinma414:thanks love... Please do share i want to get more jobs |
The collection of sculptures at St Joseph's Cath. Chaplaincy, IMO State University is not just unprecedented but also breathtaking! The Church has recently turned to a tourist centre lately, witnessing an increasing number of visitors who throng to the church just to take closer view of what seems to be an open air museum even when work is still ongoing. The Chaplain in collaboration with a Nairalander who happens to be a first class degree holder in fine and applied arts is creating a kind of sculpture garden where worshipers and visitors can have an environment with an ambience that facilitates maximum meditation and communion with nature... Please view the pics and show me some love by sharing

Today's work! Still on this...
|
amicable09:... Lol! Tutored by you. It will be an honour |
amicable09:... Thanks ama do just exactly that |
amicable09:... Captivating you are, am just feeling like someone is HOT APEing me! With all these wits you can never be jobless. Am not exactly comfortable discussing price here, but if my hunch is still as good as the last time, then I would love to believe that the price will not be the issue. I have got willing hands and yours is a heart full of enthusiasm; what more do we need? |
amicable09:... Wow! You are awesome intuitive! I must confess since 2010 that I joined nairaland, just yesterday was my first time of trying to make a post. I knew I needed some skills on how to navigate and project myself but since I didn't know much on how to go about it, I just had to stir the waters and hope I ll get enough ripples! And now you are here, i ll say to you like the Ethiopian said to Philip; here is water, what stops me from being baptised! Please take me by the hands, for I am like a baby that washes only his tummy while bathing |
amicable09:lol! Very funny you... Mathematicians are one interesting bunch of muses too, we all envy the next guy that's got something we ain't got. As for making you a portrait bust, we can actually contrapt you something that can be beautiful and at the same time portable. Something that you can conveniently keep on your table and it will be conspicuous enough to attract attention and yet decent enough to occupy lesser space. To start with, you will mail me your pictures then I ll choose the best suitable for the job. |
amicable09:... Lol! That's some bold wish you know. I like that, it shows you have a receptive disposition towards art and probably aesthetics too. What is even more interesting is that you can make this tiny wish to become a reality; without even having to know me in person yet. |
christhavemercy:... Yes I did, in fact they are thirteen in number. Soon I ll post the complete works. And thanks for the rare compliment. |
.
? I wish you were standing close, I would have hugged you a hundred times out of excitement
) at the same time, conspicuous!
