Gordons seeks Support for PDP ahead of Delta council polls

The Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Olorogun Samson Gordons Okomitie has urged Deltans to support the People's Democratic party PDP ahead of the forthcoming Local Government elections in Delta State.

Gordons in Agbarha during the hosting of People's Democratic Party members by The Former People's Democratic Party PDP Chiarmanship Aspirant in Ughelli North Local Government Olorogun Amb Udu Omo Scott noted that the People's Democratic party PDP in Delta State has never disappointed the people of Delta State.

He stated that the PDP family is a United family that cares for her members.

While commending the Delta State Governor Sen Ifeanyi Okowa, the People's Democratic party Chairman in Delta State Barr Kingsley Esiso, Gordons said the sustainability of the PDP in Delta State by the Governor need to be rewarded with massive votes .

He further stated that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa achievements in the past five years and respect for members of the party brought united to the party

Speaking further, Gordons urged party members to ensure victory for the People's Democratic party noting that victory for PDP is a victory for everyone.

He commended Olorogun Scott Udu for declaring support for the Ughelli North People's Democratic party Chairmanship Candidate Hon Godwin Adode

Delta LG Polls: Scott Urges Followers to Support PDP Candidates 


The Former People's Democratic Party PDP Chiarmanship Aspirant in Ughelli North Local Government Olorogun Amb  Udu Omo Scott has urged his followers to support Candidates in People's Democratic party in the upcoming Local Government elections. 


Scott made this known in Agbarha yesterday as he appreciates his followers for thier consistent support before and after his opponent Hon Godwin Adode emerged as People's  Democratic party Chairmanship candidate.


Olorogun Scott Speaking with the press shortly after the appraisal reception ceremony, he noted that without an iota of doubt his team toiled all through the nooks and crannies of Ughelli North seeking for support from the electorates and leaders of the party for the God's Project Campaign.


"It is no news in our system that party is supreme and we all know that two candidates cannot emerge at the same time. 


This is to note that with the candidature of the PDP whom is Hon Godwin Adode is acceptable by all party members  within the local government. 


Seeing the commitment and the zeal of my supporters through out the campaign period I can't but to say thank you to them all" he said.


Speaking further Scott commended the Delta State Governor Sen Ifeanyi Okowa over his performance.


"I also want to sincerely appreciate our Amiable Governor Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa who has outrightly performed Excellently well in all forms of governance to put our dear State in the fore front of peace and developments".

Agediga Bags Delta civil society man of the year.

The Executive Director Planning, Research and statistics, Desopadec, Chairman of a leading Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) under the aegis of Shedrack Agediga Foundation (SAF), Amb. Comr. Shedrack Agediga has emerged Delta civil society man of the year.

The award was presented to Comr Agediga during the 2020 edition of the Delta State Civil Society Day event which took place at the State Government house Asaba.

According to the organizer Comrade Rex Ekiugbo Anighoro , The Award is in recognition of Comr Shedrack Agediga achievements in the areas of leadership development, value rebirth , peace building, conflict Resolution, promotion of Nonviolence Education, good governance and social justice advocacy, humanitarian and community services.

The Shedrack Agediga Foundation has over the years become one of the most viable NGO in Nigeria, preaching peace and discouraging violence.

"I write to officially condemned the Atrocities that has been on within the Ughelli Metropolis.

The State Government is very much aware of the unfortunate incidents that claimed the life of a Police Officer and others that sustained several Injuries.

Some suspects have already been arrested in connection to the different crimes and would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.

Under no circumstance would we allow this to be swept under the carpet." He said.

Spekaing further, Gordons commiserate with the bereaved Families over the loss of their Brothers.

"The Office of the Peace Building and Conflict Resolution shares in your grief.

We are aware of the painful and difficult times, but we want to assure the bereaved Families, that justice would be served at no distance time."

While calling on Masses to remain calm and law abiding, the Governor Aide added that security had been tightened in the Ughelli to forestall further breakdown of Law and Order.

#EndSARS Protests: Okowa calls for calm

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has called for calm in the state as the country continues to record protests by citizens, including Deltans, against the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba, the governor acknowledged that citizens had the right to protest against any case of perceived wrong in the society, but cautioned that such right must be exercised within the ambit of the law.

He said that the reported killing of a policeman and injuring of another officer of the Police Force during the #ENDSARSNOW protests in Ughelli area of the state on Thursday was disheartening, and advised that citizens should eschew taking laws into their hands.

The governor sued for calm and urged the police authorities to carry out a thorough investigation into the issues and fish out those who turned a peaceful protest into violence.

"On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I commiserate with the Commissioner of Police, the Delta State Police Command and the family of the deceased officer, in the unfortunate incident of Thursday at Ughelli," he said.

While sympathising with the Police, the governor urged the Inspector-General of Police to embark on a reform of the tactical squads of the Police Force in the best interest of the country.

DELTA State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has signed two bills into law.

The Bills which were signed into law are , The law to Eliminate Violence in Private and Public Life 2020
The Delta State Local Content Agency Law 2020.

Delta Agric Commissioner Visits Code Farm At Ekakpamre, Commends Gordons

The Delta State Commissioner for Agriculture Hon Julius Eyetan Egbedi accompanied by Commissioner on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Olorogun. Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode (JP) Today paid a Working Visit to one of the Biggest Farm in Delta State, Code Farms/Code Livestock At Ekakpamre Town, Ughelli South LGA.

According to Egbedi, Gordons need to be commended for the milestone Initiative because he has practically joined the Delta State Government in the reduction of unemployment rate with his investment in the agricultural sector.

"This Code Farm/Code Livestock will help us in training our Youth's in becoming Job creators because Agriculture is major way of reducing crime rate in our State." He said.

Meanwhile, Gordons in a spirit of appreciation commended the Commissioners for their visit noting that Code Farms/Code Livestock is a subsidiary of Code Sam Nig. Ltd, that is currently reducing the rate of unemployed Deltans in Delta State.

Serving Councillors in Udu local Government Area of Delta State has also declared support for the candidacy of the incumbent Chairman of Udu Local Government Council Hon Chief Jite Brown (JP) for a second term ahead of the Delta State Local government elections.

Joy as Code Farm subsidises rate of Cat Fish in Delta

In marking the 60th anniversary of Nigeria, The Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, CEO Code Farm Olorogun Samson Gordons Okomitie has subside rate of Cat Fish in his farm located at Ughelli , Delta State.

According to Gordons, the Initiative was part of his contribution to nation building noting that agriculture is the way out of unemployment.

" The ongoing bonanza in my farm is meant at encouraging fish sellers in their business and also to ensure food security during the independence celebration.

At the moment we are currently selling at 500 naira per kilo against the regular price of 950, 1000 naira per kilo .

I am urging fish sellers, those coming to purchase for personal consumption to always patronize Code Farm ."

Speaking further , Gordons disclosed that the bonanza initiative was also to reduce hunger .

He commended the Delta State Government Yagep initiative while noting that the code farm has helped the State Government in the reduction of unemployment rate .

Gordons also urged Youth's in the State to embrace agriculture in other to be self employed.

"The Delta State Governor Sen Ifeanyi Okowa deserved my appreciations for giving me the platform to help humanity through agriculture. " he said .

OSANEBI DAY: NDOKWA YOUTHS SET TO CELEBRATE, HONOUR EX-DEPUTY SPEAKER.

..to organise youth stakeholders conference.

Plans has been concluded by youths of ndokwa nation to celebrate and honour the immediate past deputy speaker of the delta state house of assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi during the Osanebi day.

The celebrations slated for October 7th, birthday of the empowerment master will see the youths honour Osanebi with a special award, as well as the official launch of the Friday Osanebi Leadership Centre (FOLC).

The event which will witness special musical and comic performances from top nigerian artists, will hold at the open field of Ozoma-uku primary school Ashaka.

Recall, in honour of the impart and role of Friday Osanebi pioneer president of NNYM, in nation building and youth development, the youths declared October 7th of every year as the Osanebi day, with thousands of youth from the three local government gathering together each year to celebrate it.

Agediga distributes Cash, food items to Aged People, Window to mark International Peace Day

The Executive Director Planning, Research and statistics, Desopadec, Chairman of a leading Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) under the aegis of Shedrack Agediga Foundation (SAF), Amb. Comr. Shedrack Agediga as celebrated the 2020 International Peace Day With Aged People, Window.

Agediga who visited the senior citizens (The Catholic Old peoples home at Bowen avenue warri) in commemoration of 2020 International peace day, distributed food items describing peace as a bedrock of development and a happy life.

According him, a peaceful coexistence among ethnic groups, religions and nations all over the world as it is the bedrock of development and a happy life.

Speaking further on the importance of peace, Agediga maintained that peace is priceless, stressing that its gains cannot be overemphasized.

He had particularly called on critical stakeholders in the world to always see reasons for peaceful coexistence just as he said there is hardly any gain associated with violence.

“Today is International day of peace. It is a day set aside by the United Nations to recognize the efforts of those who worked hard to end conflict and promote peace among nations and people.

This is why I visited senior citizens at The Catholic Old peoples home Bowen avenue warri to celebrate with them.

The theme of this year is ‘shaping peace together’ with a call on all persons to spread compassion, kindness and hope in the face of Covid-19 pandemic and to stand together with the UN against using the virus to promote discrimination or hatred. "

Call Obaseki to Congratulate him, Okowa's Aide Ossai Urges Ize Iyamu, Oshomole

Delta State Governor Aide on Media, Mr Ossai Success has urged the Edo State Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Former Governor Adams Oshiomhole to pick up their phones and call Governor Godwin Obaseki to congratulate him.

The Senior Special Assitant on International Relations and Special Duties to the Delta State Governor and Member Of high-powered 17-man Task Force to check human trafficking and irregular migration in the state Dr Genevieve Mordi has urged Delta youth's to speak against drug abuse .

Mordi in Asaba discbried the use of drug by youth's as alarming.

She noted that the rate of drug abuse among youths need to be addressed daily.

"Millions of people suffer from an illicit drug disorder and we are losing lives everyday as a result of drug abuse.

There is no gain in drug abuse, we must rise up and speak against it."

Speaking further she said there are Side effects of drug addiction .

"Our youths need to run away from drug abuse
Drug abuse weakened immune system, increasing the risk of illness and infection" she said while calling on more Sensitization on the effect of drug abuse in our society.

Coewa Alumni Reacts to Sahara Reporters Report on College of Education Warri Provost.

College of Education Warri Alumni Association has reacted to report claiming Delta State College Of Education Provost Prof Mary Edema Used N36m To Build Two Toilets in the institution funded by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund.

In a statement signed by the College of Education warri Alumni Publicity Secretary Comrade Francis Agbinone Omovigho, the alumni described the report as baseless and weightless allegations.

Francis Agbinone, disclosed that investigation was carried out by the alumni and can categorically describe the reports as false noting that some persons who got themselves involved in blackmailing the Provost are on an endless mission.

The statement reads " The attention of College of Education Warri Alumni Association has been drawn to a media publication against the provost of the institution Professor Mary Edema. The publication chronicled how the provost allegedly built two toilets with 36million naira."

"However, after our swift research and investigations as stakeholders of the college, we write to debunk such baseless and weightless allegations. Officials of TET Fund monitor their projects and the intervention funds are used judiciously following due processes across all institutions in Nigeria.

The sagacity of the provost is not in doubt and we shall continue to partner with genuine leaders of the college to chart best ways to bringing the institution to greater progress. We call on all those behind this callous report to decease from it forthwith, as the ‘pull him down’ syndrome is already eating deep into the College."

A coalition of youth associations under the auspices Idjerhe Youths Political Vanguard (IYPV) on Sunday, drummed support for the Chairmanship ambition of Comr. Irikefe Matthew Agbroko

Agbroko is a Chairmanship aspirant under the platform of the People Democratic Party, PDP, in Ethiope West local government area of Delta State.

The group’s Convener Comr choice Imirihre in Jesse Town described Irikefe Matthew Agbroko as a noble man who has empowered youths in Ethiope West.

Human Trafficking: Protect and assist survivors , Genevieve Mordi Urges

The Senior Special Assitant on International Relations and Special Duties to the Delta State Governor and Member Of high-powered 17-man Task Force to check human trafficking and irregular migration in the state Dr Genevieve Mordi has urged Nigerians to protect and assists survivors of human trafficking.

According to Dr Genevieve Mordi in Asaba, Irrespective of situations , there is need for Nigerians to support victims of human trafficking for the purpose of integrating them into the society.

She also urged Nigerians to becareful of false promises of paid employment, professional training, and education abroad noting that alot of Nigerians are transported within and across national borders, often under life-threatening conditions.

"Survivors of human trafficking need proper orientation and training to return back to normal looking at what they have been through .
I am Calling on Nigerians to protect and assist them in becoming good citizens.
Discriminationis never the way out , we must treat them as our brothers and Sisters.
We all must speak out against human trafficking because It is a crime to support human trafficking.
Let's protect our communities and let's build a better Nigeria " she said.
