Dear Ben when can we have a proper chat again, i stillhave some issues about drawing a line between honouring and worship of the manhatta. been attending several eck meetings and this part makes me wonder. After decades of careful experiment, physicists say they have found the "strongest indication to date" to prove the existence of the Higgs boson -- a subatomic particle so important to the understanding of space, time and matter that the physicist Leon Lederman nicknamed it "the God particle."
The announcement today, based on experiments at the Department of Energy's Fermilab near Chicago and other institutions, is not the final word, but it's very close. And it comes just before a major meeting this week in Australia, where more findings will be announced from the giant underground particle accelerator at CERN, the great physics lab in the Alps on the French-Swiss border.
"This is one of the cornerstones of how we understand the universe," said Rob Roser, a Fermilab physicist, "and if it's not there, we have to go back and check our assumptions about how the universe exists."
Roser said he expected the CERN scientists to offer more evidence of the Higgs particle, though they will also be cautious. "The Higgs particle, if it's real, will show itself in different ways. We need for all of them to be consistent before we can say for sure we've seen it."
Fermilab has been home to an atom smasher called the Tevatron, which was shut down last year because CERN's Large Hadron Collider is more powerful. Scientists who used the Tevatron have been sifting through the masses of data they collected by sending subatomic particles crashing into each other at nearly the speed of light.
"During its life, the Tevatron must have produced thousands of Higgs particles, if they actually exist, and it's up to us to try to find them in the data we have collected," said Luciano Ristori, a physicist at Fermilab and the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics, in a statement. "We have developed sophisticated simulation and analysis programs to identify Higgs-like patterns. The particle was first proposed in the 1960s by the English physicist Peter Higgs. The international effort to find it has taken decades, using tremendous amounts of energy to crash subatomic particles into each other in giant underground tracks, where they are steered by magnetic fields. Several different experiments have been done by independent teams to ensure accuracy.
Finding the Higgs particle would not be of practical value, at least not yet, but Roser argued that when the electron was first discovered in 1897, nobody guessed how it would lead to the high-tech, wired world we have today.
Physicists say the Higgs boson would help explain why we, and the rest of the universe, exist. It would explain why the matter created in the Big Bang has mass, and is able to coalesce. Without it, as CERN explained in a background paper, "the universe would be a very different place…. no ordinary matter as we know it, no chemistry, no biology, and no people."

Seven-year-old Charlotte Neve suffered a rare type of brain hemorrhage in mid-April, and slipped into a coma after two operations were performed to stop the bleeding. Doctors told her mother, Leila, that her daughter's chances didn't look good.
Charlotte remained in the coma for a week--when, one day, her mother came to visit and heard Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" playing on the radio. As this was a song she and Charlotte both enjoyed, Leila began singing along.
Unexpectedly, Charlotte smiled in response, surprising the hospital staff.
"I couldn't believe it," Leila Neve told the Telegraph. "It was the first time she had reacted to anything since the hemorrhage. The nurses were astounded and told me to keep singing, and she smiled again...[They] said it was like I 'unlocked her,' and from that day she started getting better and better."
Two days later, the little girl was speaking and able to get out of bed. Although not fully recovered today, she is back at home, has returned to school, can dance and ride her bike--and, presumably, is singing along with Adele's albums again.
Her mother says that she's not surprised her music-loving daughter responded to one of her favorite songs, but it's still a miracle overall. "How she's still here is beyond everybody. I was told that she was very lucky to survive."

I was a CEC Havens President many years ago, and my mother was a Pentecostal pastor, my late mother was as faithful and upright as i could ever imagine, but along the line she fell ill for a period of time i did all i could do spiritually, made every sacrifice i could do along with my siblings and her local church. The most painful part was we openly had conflict with my mothers relatives refusing them administering any form of  trado-medical stuffs. Alas she died and we bore all the blame for her death. which i still carry till this moment, if only i knew what i know now who knows she probably would have survived.

Recently i was at the car workshop trying to get my car fixed , while i was waiting for my car to be fixed, one of the workers came offering me oranges in the spirit of the Chinese new year (themed the year of the dragon). Being from a christian background i was tempted to pray over the oranges saying i cover it with the blood of Jesus, but somewhere inside me that pray makes me feel insecured with people with different creed and subconsciously breeding mistrust. I decided to go ahead and eat the fruit after thanking the attendant without any form of prayer.

I would like to ask how do you as a christian , muslin and others accept offers from people of other religion during their celebrations, do u reject bless or cover with blood of Jesus.
