I agree with Dwebb55. Ideally you should start applying for full time roles as soon as you settle in with studies. The mistake many folks make is instead of focusing on the big-picture (full time good roles), they look for part-time jobs to meet up with living cost and before you know it, sometimes studies is affected or they become ok working at that level…(its ok to work part-time to supplement living cost, don't get me wrong) but there is stiff competition for the sweet jobs in Ireland. And being a black person, the odds are naturally not in your favour…. you have to be viciously smart and aggressive (People i know, applied for more than 100 roles in a 6 month period, attended over 30 interviews… at different stages 1, 2 and in some cases stage 3) in job hunting to land a good full time role. If you start looking for full time job early enough, you get to build connection with recruiters and HR leads, understand the job market and focus you attention in where you see your strength lies. You also build confidence which is critical during interviewing (which is what many lack). By June when Semester 2 is over you should have gotten a full time role, and if in the Critical Skills List, your employer should apply for you. After which you can apply for Stamp 1 residence permit even before your final results are out in September or October. Hence no need for Stamp 1G. Dwebb55: |
See eh… To be honest with you. MBA in Cloud Computing will not do much good without a first degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering or maybe a MSc in one of these. OR at least 5years and above in core practice of these. This MBA in Cloud Computing is for management practice. And here in Ireland to get hired into management role as a new immigrant requires that your skills are exceptional. So like someone has advised… go for the harder software masters program. You stand a better chance of getting a job there….. They are all IT but an MBA is for team leaders, supervisors, managers and above. Except you are already well rounded in Core IT like Dev Ops, AI, Machine learning, Cybersecurity, Cloud Infrastructure, IAM etc…then MBA in Cloud Computing will shoot you to the skies.. Best of luck. Are ye using naira denominated cards. That could be the problem. You need a dollar debit card. Skyburn: |
Yeah. You should not have any problem getting to Cork by bus. You can buy ticket online or pay at the bus park. Two buses I have used are AirCoach and GoBus. You can check them online. Its 20euros. If ye had a student ID it would be 16euros. Travel time is 3hrs 30min. They all drop at Patricks Quay. No you don't need any vaccine or covid test to use the bus. But you’ll need a face covering. The train is 46euros. With a student ID its 16euros. Its faster- 2hrs and 30mins. The stop is Kent Train station You can proceed to your final destination by taxi. Download the app FreeNow or you could hail one too. If you are on a budget, and not with much luggages, you may choose to walk to Patrick Street (5-7mins walk from Patricks Quay or 10-15mins from Kent Station). Here you’ll get a bus to almost any part of the city. My recommendation is you buy a bus ticket online book a time slot for an hour after you arrival in dublin. So you could board immediately after your clear immigration and exit the terminal. Even if you miss your time-slot, you already have a ticket you can board the next available bus. However, if you want to buy a ticket at the bus park when you get there. They will only sell a ticket if there is a space after everyone on that time slot has boarded. Cork route sells fast. You don't want to arrive dublin at 1pm and be told that seats are only available on the bus for 7pm. Best wishes. niyogeol: |
Ok. lol. From a student perspective it is expensive for the following reasons. 1. A litre of fuel sells for around 1.34 to 1.56 euros. No fuel subsidy here. So a full tank of premium fuel will cost around 50euros or more. There are three grades of fuel. The less quality one cost less but burns faster. Diesel is cheaper. Electric is the cheapest (govt gives subsidy for green cars) 2. Here we drive on the left side of the road and the driver's side is on the right hand drive of the car. It will take some relearning to get used to and as a student you may break some rules and incur penalty points on your drivers license…….. thats if you manage to get one before you finish your program. Its pretty challenging to get one now. Although you can use your Nigerian drivers license but the moment you get a GNIB, its required you acquire an Irish drivers license. 3. Besides the cost of a car here, not too expensive for a good 2nd hand though, the biggest cost will be insurance. 3rd party doesn't work here as such. For a newbie, your insurance will be high. Its not like Nigeria where insurance rates are usually flat for both comprehensive and 3rd party. Here there are a lot of other factors that determine your insurance. And that insurance is over important. You must not switch on the engine of a car without insurance….kidding…. actually you must not drive a car without insurance. 4. Here you pay for parking. Everywhere. Infact for your student accommodation car park, you may pay as high as 600 euros for a year. For street parking, there are flat rates for zones. Bottom line.. no free parking for over 95% of places, even in the college car park. 5. There is very good transport system everywhere in the city. With a student leap card, you pay approx 1.6 euro for everywhere you move to regardless of the distance. So, make your choice. Why would you want to put yourself in so much stress owning a car when you have less need of it as a student. Philadelphia: |
That would be KLM via Amsterdam from Lagos. You only need to do covid test with a negative result at least 72hrs before departure from Lagos Mmaobey: |

spiceeamiee:Hi, At monthly income of over 1m, you have a good financial base. You don't need any explanation of bulk fund. You just attach your monthly pay stubs or pay slips for each of those inflow in your bank statement. If you have your employment agreement where your income is stated, attach it too. Highlight where your salary is stated in the document for easy reference. Bank statement of 3 weeks old is just ok. I suppose it dates back six month. If they need you to update it when its being reviewed they will send a mail asking you to. I wish you the best. |
Chikirim:Hello, Congratulations. I live in Cork. Just opposite UCC. Its a great institution. You appear to be quite in a rush. I understand. But i’ll urge you to take things calmly. Talking from experience.... making a move with your family requires significant planning especially given their age. I hope you have done your research very well. If you and the children will be living in a foreign country for the first time, its going to be a huge transition and its wont happen in a snap. Getting the visa is the least of the problem. You’ll get it promptly. I hope you coming with enough funds. Even though you are on scholarship, your stipends wont cover you and your family’s living cost especially given the age of your children. You’ll need accommodation of around 1,200 euros per month, that alone takes almost all of your annual stipend. At Stamp 2, you are really restricted to work and the phd program is rigorous. If you are over 40, its gets more difficult to devote longer hours to study and research. You are exempt form access public funds and so you’ll have to pay for everything from your pocket. Bottomline. You got to research your move by yourself and make proper planning. You are coming for a Phd and you have to be a strong self starter otherwise my best advice is for you to come to Cork first, learn the ropes, make adequate preparation for your family to join you in the next six to eight months , especially because of their age. The Phd program is a marathon not a sprint, so don't rush please I wish you the very best. |

I think you guys should stick to your adventures in Ireland talk which you understand and leave christianity out, if you don't understand it. And if you choose to be an atheist or to serve anything for that matter, its your choice. Everything is a choice. Leave others to theirs wowdiva: |
Yeah. Full details is in their twitter handle. I also found this new addition to Study Visa Requirement. Its for those using Duolingo for Language requirement. Note - As an exceptional measure for 2020, and to address problems being experienced accessing supervised tests because of Covid-19, we will also accept the results of online tests from providers named in the document linked above (the minimum scores acceptable for these tests are also on the linked document). In addition to the named providers, we will also accept Duolingo online tests. Your score from the Duolingo test must be at least 55 for short term English language preparatory courses or for second level education. Your score from the Duolingo test must be at least 75 for all other courses. For us to access your Duolingo results you will have to include us as an “institution” for your result. You do this by picking “Irish visa” as an institute on Duolingo.com. If you take the Duolingo test, please email englishlanguage@justice.ie with your Irish visa application reference number so that we can associate your Duolingo English language competence test score with your visa application. The reference number is “IRL” followed by eight digits for example IRL98765432. Remember we will need to match your name, date of birth, email address and image provided to Duolingo with that information on your visa application senitop: |

I am having disappointments with auction export . And i have written to them to express my displeasure. Please can anyone tell me how long it should take a car from Canada to arrive Nigeria. |
Dealer # 296102 Export1: Thank you for this message, Sir. |
Men, auction export is genuine but slow....., "I don't care attitude from the shipping department" I already invited 3 of my colleagues at work when i bought since September, till now November can hasn't left Canada. So Sad. i will ask those i have refereed to back down. I am so disappointed. Everyday, its a new sory of why my car hasn't left Canada 5p1naz: hi, for everyone looking to buy a car from auction export. i was researching online 3 months ago to verify their authenticity, ah well, auction export is authentic... i got my car last Friday. a Hyundai elantra 2008. bought it for my little sister. do not be afraid. now there are some things auction export have hidden on their bid or buy it now page, not that its literally hidden but you would hardly notice because of your excitement in buying cars without having to move from your bed, and that is hidden costs. their administration fee etc... if you end up winning a bid for $5000, bear in mind that their shipping cost and charges would be around the $2000 price, taking the car total to $7000 (note that this is an example) and most of you wont see that coming. so as a recommendation, always use their price calculator on the page of whatever car you are buying, because if you refuse to buy their car, they will take your deposit of $400 minimum. legit but take your time. |
