Petrol is now N130 a litre in Port Harcourt even though your predecessor illegally increased it by N10 from N65 to N75. Infact I have lost count of the number of times Chief Obasanjo increased pump prices in his tenure. Even the so called bad man Abacha did not conceive such evil. Chief Obasanjo has just increase VAT from 5% to 10% and its becoming one big bad dream.

Petrol is selling for N130 a litre in Port Harcourt, the oil capital of Africa and home of 2 refineries. Need any one say no more.

Public Holiday or Strike are not observed most times in Port Harcourt. A lot of Banks opened yesterday May 28 e.g. United Bank for Africa (UBA) 2 brances on Olu Obasanjo Rd. Most private companies especially the oil servicing ones did half day. The banks by the way did full day and will actually not mind working on Sunday if you allow them. I don't blame them either. What right has any government to tell them to observe a holiday when they do not provide basic infrastructure. The banks build their buildings, generate their electricity, install their boreholes and even build the roads on top.

In the past 8 days Petrol in Port Harcourt has hit an abnormal N150 per litre from retail point. Femi Kuti sang in one of his songs that "Obasanjo will kill Nigerians finish". Personally, I think our lackadaisical attitude toward many things has got us to the point. A well deserved parting gift.
