The media have succeeded in creating an image that seldom exists anywhere. Thank God we have someone in Ghana who can say that there is no light at the point in time he was in the cyber cafe. People are talking of rural telephony and I wonder what that means. Hunger is killing people in the rural areas and someone is mentioning telephone; this kind of wonder amazes me. |
The people of the Niger Delta are tired of hearing government lies. Most of those pictures you see on newspapers about roads, jetties and hospitals are media contraptions. Forget all the talk about gas turbines; this politicians have taken us for a ride too long. Education remains the only hope of any people because it changes their mentality. Majority of the representatives be it traditional (e.g. chiefs) and then pressure groups (e.g. INC, MOSOP, UPU and co) soon forget their constituency and enrich themselves and immediate family members riding in jeeps with MOPOL and collecting contracts which they never intend to undertake in the name of community so now its every man for himself. |
"mere pretenders" will be quite economical, how about "self delusion" , "increasing confusion" . This days when I am filling a form I tick religious beliefs as "others" because to be a christian or muslim in Nigeria is an insult to injury. |
I saw an advert for such by auto alliance which sells Nissan products but am not too down with it. All this banks are just cheating us, forget all those con men called accounts officers. I hate them with a passion cause they just love lying only to increase their cash balance. |
I think its nice and good for Nigeria. |
what is all this about the koko master? who is ini edo? |
its no secret that the yoruba and hausas have an over bearing influence in the oil sector. First, they insisted that all the oil companies have their headquarters in Lagos before they then moved them to Abuja. OBJ tried by allowing some of them to move back to the areas of operations. Look at Shell, Chevron, Mobil, Agip, Totalfinaelf, the same people running things. |
I have my doubts, have you tried mytvafrica? |
N13500 is better than nothing. |
@spoilt, while she is cooking the food, i'll be giving the children a bath or perhaps doing some ironing - but that is me. I don't like TV in any case but the average nigerian man will not even be at home talk less of watching TV. He will be in the bar with the boys and once he calls and the food is ready he is cruising back home to enjoy the wife of his youth. AMEN |
That is why those place remain largely underdeveloped mentally and socially; Its a pity then the FG will be talking of NYSC. |
cook together; where? Is it in America abi in Africa? Romantic? Is funny how our brothers forget what obtains in our country once they enter the airports here in Nigera. By the time they reach obodo oyinbo dem don no know wetin dey ground for we country again. |
A woman should not put in long hours on the job with children that age. I have seen cousins & relations even sisters (same mother & father) take over the home in the name of caring for the children. Before long they too will have their children by the same man and then push out both the the career woman and her children. The Nigerian society/culture in such a case will not condemn the man but treat the woman who has been thrown out worse than a divorcee. |
The woman is proud to say that her in-laws and husband had gotten used to the fact of her being absent from home for long hours in the name of work - sorry this is Nigeria. As to the man not marrying her because of the nature of her job; I quite agree. Red_lips please refer no more to me as caveman because that is behaviour is not good. |
See how red_lips is abusing me instead of developing some argument. There is a time for everything. If at such a tender age the woman does not have time for the kids (forget about her husband) then she have no one to blame but herself. As I said earlier it is not by force to marry or and make babies if you are irresponsible. |
what do a 4 year old and 2 year old need a teacher for? the teacher encouraged the children to take their meals seriously; was that part of the job description? a woman's job/career should not be allowed to conflict with her primary assignment. |
@Pain well said |
@red lips; i like your style so lets talk. Meet me outside the cave. |
Its the duty of the man to go out and bring the money while the woman should utilize the money brought in raising the family. When this arrangement is edited then sorry. Society does not give any woman caught in the act a second chance. I don't know what lessons a 2 year old and perhaps 6 year old will be taking. Its not by force to marry and give birth to children when you know you are not ready. |
I am surprised by the reaction of some people here especially with the names calling "pigs", "dogs" Whenever as a woman you decide to get married then you must consider the type of job that you do. You can't eat your cake and have it. Either marry the bank and stay therein or be prepared to share your man with some one else (it might even be another man). |
I have been trying to call the customer care line 111 for the past 3 weeks and all their agents are busy. Which way Nigeria? |
@cabali Has celtel changed their customer care number from 111? I have been trying to call but will be directed by a prerecorded voice to go to their website. This our country is truly the greatest. |
na oversabi they kill ekiti with anambra. |
that time don pass. The worst democracy is better than the best military regime |
Lets give this man a chance if he is sworn in. |
