Crime › Re: My Robbery Experience In Rivers State Today (Photos) by otokx(m): 3:48pm On Jun 15, 2017 |
Benita27: I did my primary and secondary school in PH, and live in PH. I should be in a position to tell you how PH works not the other way round.
I have been opportune to live in different parts of the city. Now you mentioned what Lagosians do with armrobbers when caught. If Rivers residents should mete jungle justice on criminals you'll be the first to complain and tag us Rivers of Blood. Armrobbers don't succeed in areas with vigilante groups but do so in estates where most of the dwellers are very rich citizens or could afford a comfortable apartment, ask the op. His area may not have a vigilante group for robbers to move from flat to flat. Months back there was a clap down on kidnappers, and I heard some who where caught were executed without trail. It's not as bad as you make it seem on social media. Few cases shouldn't make you conclude that the state isn't safe, whereas it is. We've been robbed before but I see it as one of problems of urbanization.
Wike could only make security his priority area. Wike reportedly dissolved all the vigilante in Rivers State. |

Jidefido: Everyone has been calling her Olosho. I can categorically say she is not. She lived in Abuja with her mother. Though her mother struggled to send her to school. The Alhaji deceived her and her mother and other poor families to help send and pay for their school. The Alhaji appeared like a philanthropist championing indigent girls, promisng to sponsor their educations. The story is quite long. The mother knows about everything and even permitted her to go meet him when he sent for her and another girl. She was not selling herself to any Alhaji. She was tricked while trying to rescue another girl in Alhaji's house. Let's watch what we say people. Cheers Tricked into sniffing cocaone or what? Is she now the police to go and rescue another girl? |

jumobi1: I totally get your point. Perhaps jungle justice should only be executed on those clearly caught in the act. In Ghana, a plain clothes soldier was lynched because he had his gun on him in a community ravaged by criminals. An innocent man doesn't deserve such a death. He should have carried his ID card and uniform as well. |

Justice has been served, Evans in Lagos should thank his stars, if it is PH, his house will be turned to a police station while he will get "justice" |

The problem of Nigeria is poor mentality, a country where people want to enjoy without working, where students want to get A without reading. My neighbor a student has been running generator for over 2 hours despite the fact that NEPA has come and what is he doing by the way, playing a particular music in repeat and you can figure out the rest yourself, tomorrow he will ask uncle and aunties to contribute to his schooling. |

There is "more" to being a graduate than just possessing a certificate. When we try talking to final year undergraduates on that "more" it is like we are speaking Greek. Was trying to encourage a "graduate" who was waiting for NYSC to go take up a job as a fuel attendant in a petrol station or a waiter in a fast food and she took offense. Asked her how she was building up her network profile and the stare response said it all. |
