Yesterday in Aluu 2 Uniport Students, a boy and a girl quarreled in an off campus apartment estate. The girl now went away and came back with boys who shot the boy she was quarreling with.

All other tenants of the estate and those nearby became refugees overnight as Nigerian Police is known to pack everybody in sight following such type of incidents.

This happened about 2pm under the hot sun, the level of arms in Rivers State is too much. There are guys ready to vibrate for next to nothing.

Let's not politicize it, let's tell ourselves the truth, joblessness accompanied with low mentality is a recipe for what we are seeing.

I am a member of the Students Union in my school. The OP has made very valid points, but the post is indicative of hasty generalization.

Not all Student Unionists are in it for the money. Personal gain is always a factor in everything, but some people actually subsume that in the interest of those they serve and represent.

Hope you don't extort money? The ones here in Uniport had the audacity to come to small businesses who pay rent to the university to extort money in the name of Sanitation. Every matriculation & convocation they sell one flimsy sticker to all businesses and share the loot.

There was SUG election in Uniport today, you needed to see the number of police hilux right there at the venue. APC and PDP are actually interested in who becomes the executives especially the Student Union President.

The benefits especially in election period like this are overwhelming. Just the other week, a Senator brought millions for students to share. Free food in campus, free accommodation, free sex, free drinks.

Almost all ex Presidents of Student Union in Unipirt upon living the position bought cars not less than 3 million. At least 3 have married and built their own houses. Enough wakis and choppings.

Rivers people are in for 4years of obsession with amaechi. I can bet anything wike's tenure will record zero development or achievement. Just as Fayose is too obsessed with buhari to lift a finger to any project, so is wike obsessed with amaechi.

Both APC and PDP rigs when the opportunity presents itself. I still remember what we did for GEJ during the 2011 election. @ least I got him nothing less than 150 votes alone. So just forget about that rigging excuse.

The best rigger carries the day, why INEC is suspending the election baffles me. Its not about PDP or APC, let's move on with our lives.
