phantom: honestly they all have a positive ripple effect on the economy.why are you not seeing the jobs this policy will create as a good thing?Bros a house must be built on land, without land it will be a world wonder to build a house that floats in thin air. Government wants to create another set of fake business men like dangote who are just importing everything and then rebagging in Nigeria. For there to be real production, there must be some fundamental infrastructures e.g roads, then power, then ports to export or markets to sell. |
Flyboy Zee: So also is Nigeria supposed to benefit from the ECOWAS. But, since we won't produce anything, other countries (Ghana, Benin, Togo, etc) in the region are taking advantage of our population and unproductivity to boost their economy. What Ghana, Benin and Togo are doing is to have efficient ports and good rapport with the bad eggs in the customs to smuggle in imported quality goods at cheap rates. If only our ports can be efficient and cheap, the ecowas countries will be put out of business. Do you know how many Nigerian children now attend primary and secondary school in Benin? Its cheaper than our private schools here and more efficient plus the kids get to board and learn french. That is how they create value from us. |
Flyboy Zee: Mexico, the kidnap headquarters of the world has a far higher crime rate than Nigeria, yet it has over 5 auto assembly/manufacturing plants. Even Brazil's crime rate is higher than that of the whole West Africa put together, yet we import heavy duty city (luxurious) buses from there.but Mexico has power and good roads which Nigeria lacks |
adconline: Can you tell all these govt officials to supply power instead of this gibberish? Naija still imports froze chicken through Cotonou. Do know much it will cost to buy one fishing trawler?Power and good roads should be their priority. |
engrsoma: Thanks comrade otokx for the elightenment. plz can the fees be paid at banks outside port-harcourtin theory yes |
Onogueks: @Otoks. can i sign up on ecampus and do my basic online clearance in january. coz i dnt wanna stress my parents nowFrom an IT admin perspective, its better you sign in January, that way you give those who are ready to pay all fees enough resource to do so. Things will be a lot better and faster in the middle of January. |
Synclare: Is d said registration going on in school?Registration is a process which kicks off when a lot of you have been successfully captured on the ecampus, presently there are quite a number of challenges - people are asking if accomodation is still compulsory? payment of fees is still a problem even with the banks on campus - was at fidelity bank the other day and had to calm some students who felt the bank tellers were ignoring them. The website was having issues and the bank tellers were attending to other customers who came for other transactions. There used to be a formal procedure, you sign off first then go to the bank and pay acceptance then book and then pay accomodation before proceeding to feel your clearance eligibility form and if cleared then you pay school fees, only after then do you think of going around to do medicals which will be done kinda at the same time as admission clearance. Now you see your name online and go to bank to pay fees without filling any forms so how then will the website capture and then link up your details. Please exercise patience everyone and try and do it the right way to avoid problems, also at each service point if you experience some hold up or lag just be calm. It will be quite tasking but just be relaxed. |
ejiolingo: Sir Otokx pls watz d situation lyk around d skulnot on ground at the moment so can only say what my peeps on ground say and that is there still is no electricity in all of UNIPORT going to 2 months now. |
This is the kind of approach we need in Borno and Yobe states. |
Well said Mr Commissioner. |
Both of them are very poor and depend on government contracts which they do not execute; name one company or industry that they own that employs thousands of their own people. |
Kx: Govt just keep banning everything bannable even when there is no ready made and easily affordable subsitute.Don't mind them, they are just trying to destroy the common man. |
ochejoseph: Seriously I used to think it was a bad Idea but not anymore ,We cannot create our brand in the absence of infrastructure; lets stop deceiving ourselves. |
Its easy to stay in Canada and be talking; why not come back even if its 4 weeks every year and start making an impact from your fathers house? |
ceo4eva: If only we had CCTV cameras on our roads, we could have been able to find out what happened or who visited. May His Soul Rest In Peace.CCTV when there is no light ![]() |
Switcommy: dear,,nt evrywia is a free world,,well i dnt wnt 2 be seen as sumtin else,,lemme jst hide sumwia nd watch..bt let it been noted dat i made emphasis on dat point....grabs ma coke nd gala...watching...nw in ma ghost modeplease don't enter ghost mode o; we can start our own drama....hehehehe. |
@switcommy relax, its all part of the social media thing together with civil liberties. it also reveals various sides of people. we saw a little religious talk between screenagerjoe and the mantle guys which amused me. it however showed me a different side of joe which is different from his escapade side. |
Samgreguc: Are we to come with the Original UTME result slip? Though, what I saw was Original o'level and UTME result slip. The utme slip that has your passport photograph and your subjects with their various scores. Make sure its printed using a color printer. It will be sighted and returned to you. |
Crystalbelle: Please,we basic to degree students,do we have to get our success letter before commencing with our registration or we should just startyou have to get your success letter especially with regards to physical clearance; dunno about medicals. It should be ready from the middle of next week. |
Mallamai: Hmmmm sir otokx wat Đ☺ yu mean by dat na.......yu didn't even say anyfin concernin d reg startin 2mrw,yu jst lock up speakin in parablesbe patient. |
Raxxye: Are you sure of what you are saying? Do you live there? I had my junior secondary education in that town (some two decades ago). When did the uninterrupted power supply begin?Propagandists/liars have flooded nairaland. |
AjaraEwuro: So he travels because of the allowances? Come on. You should be more reasonable.A meeting of FG and ASUU is slated for wednesday, Oga Jona is sending signals that the memorial service is more important than the our students who have been home for over 5 months. |
Oga too dey travel sha. Thought he just came back from a visit to Germany and France. Hope he won't breakdown there oh
Each time he travels he collects allowance so that is why most Nigerians in power are always travelling on one official thing or the other. |
Tarhaqa said 153 then changed mind said 155 with a +/- caveat of 3 but wat is it as of friday? 170. My argument was based on the exchange rate and you are unable to tackle that. Be it pounds or dollar, our naira is down and that in 12 calendar months. Like i said keep up the deceit. |
taharqa: NO, @otokx: am not insulting you, guy; am just calling it as it is. You are reali an OLODO and an IGNORAMUS. For instance, Nigeria's NonOil Exports wud actuali be bw $8-$10billion this year (compared to about $3billion for the last 2years and about $1billion or less just some few years ago). As a mata of fact, d data suggests that Nigeria is clearly on a path of finally Diversifying its Economy. In same vein, Inflation RATE has actuali decreased significantly from more than 12% yr-on-yr sometime last year to Single digit 7.8 in October this year (in fact, d Inflation Rate has basically been in d Single digit this year- a rare and a very very significant development). On Exchange Rate, yes d Naira has declined by about 2% so far this year against d Dollar, but still it is still one of d 'better' performing in d world, esp amongst d large Developing Economies (like Russia, India, Brazil, etc) where uncertainties in d global Economy particularly d temporary flight of international capital due to d expected quantitative easing earlier planned by d US Treasury. The CBN has been trying to keep d Exchange Rates relatively stable within its budgeted targeted range of #155(+/- #3); and they are largely succeeding in doing just that.... Your Assumptions, that formed d basis of yr Rants, are therefore wrong (or largely so except d dip in Oil sales). In other words, yr 'facts' are Wrong. So you see @otokx, when I call you an IGNORAMUS, am not actually insulting you; I just am saying it as it is...Keep up the deceit |
ASUU nko? |
Mallamai: Pls those who ar goin for d clearance 2mrw shuld let us knw hw it went cuz na nxt year dey my mindyou are in tune with the spirit |
Keep insulting but the facts are there, decrease in revenue from both oil and non oil exports. Increase in foreign exchange rate, rise in inflation. |
taharqa: What NONSENSE are you trying to spur with this comment? What's yr point?... You some times leave no doubt about how pea-sized yr brain really is, @otokxSome insulted and abused Mandela but today he is being celebrated. We will not allow Nigeria to die before we celebrate. When price of goods and services keep rising and our income from sales of oil and custom tax keeps reducing then it is clear that government is doing badly. |
Nerosoft19: welcome sir, how has the weekend been? We really missed u for this few days u were awayGoing to be a bit irregular for a while, need loads of rest. You guys are having fun, nice. |
