Christianity Etc › Re: First Fruit Offering Is Brainwashing! Tunde Bakare by otokx(m): 4:32pm On Aug 01, 2009
The level of brainwashing has reached an all time high in most churches. People have surrendered their God giving thinking faculties on the altar of religion yet they continue in SIN. No pastor, preacher, prophet, reverend professor or bishop is going to dispossess me of my hard earned money and time. The one they collected in the past is enough for them. You need to see adults especially the ladies everyday, morning to evening in church - one activity or the other. Let me stop here before i start crying.

Every human being, good, bad or evil has some fundamental human rights. The death toll is way above 600 and include both islamists, security agents and civilians.

This is no news, Raymond Dokpesi is said to be very arrogant and pompous. I know 3 of his staff here in Port Harcourt who resigned and left their unpaid salaries. The problem is that we Nigerians are too afraid to take a leap of faith and damn the consequences and that's because most of us too have skeletons in our cupboard. That woman just wasted her money sending sms to that guy; her husband should go and look for another job.

Our human rights record has just reached an all time low with this unfortunate incident. Its becoming so obvious that the Nigerian police have some explanations to do.

That word "qualified" always rings a bell. It was the same way they said we in the south - south are not "qualified" for management cadre positions in the oil industry. The Yoruba then went to be employing all his people in the oil companies in the name of "qualified". First he made sure that the headquarters of those companies remain in Lagos but now the Hausa man has moved all of them to Abuja. Look at FERMA, a national agency. The head is NORTH, the finance head is NORTH, the human resource/admin head is NORTH and one man for here they yarn "qualified".

@ aasog

the statement that he was killed in a shoot out by the military is supposed to replace the earlier information that he was killed in custody by the police. It is wrong for a suspect to be killed in detention, but if the suspect resists arrest in the conflict area and goes on to shoot at the soldiers then the soldiers have a right of defense which is what this new information is trying to say. A dead man cannot speak to tell us who or were he was killed so lets accept this last information as the correct one at this time unless of course more information is released that shows he actually went into the police station alive and was later murdered.
Politics › Re: What In Your View Is The Immediate Problem The Federal and State Governments Should Tackle First? by otokx(m): 10:29am On Jul 31, 2009
Those saying power problems, consider this. The FG and some states have some gigantic gas turbines at the seaports. They have been there over 5 years now because they cannot be carried to their installation points. The roads are so bad and if they venture crossing those our bridges, the sheer weight of those engines will collapse them causing havoc. So our government has to do those roads and bridges most of which are inter state highways.

corruption exists everywhere so the aim will be to reduce the levels of corruption through awareness and accountability. No ex - president has yet been brought to book on account of corruption so we have a very long way to go.

some arguments are simply undeniable and nairaland has a wealth of thinkers

someone asked if mohammed the proponent of Islam was a violent man? if by any means he undertook personally in violent actions which led to death and physical injury to human beings and the answer is YES

the same question was used against Jesus the Christ who is supposed to be the proponent of Christianity and the answer is NO

Knowledge is indeed power, for even if that simple test is carried out a 1000 years from now or 1000 years ago the results will not change.

That foreigner that came into our country to preach against knowledge was a hypocrite. Why did he not flee on camel back? Why did he flee in an SUV?

Now he has been killed in a gun battle. He will surely get his total Islam in that hot and dark place that awaits those who reject the mercy and grace of God.

The strike took a new dimension today with the FG through the NUC issued a circular to the management of federal universities not to pay any salary for the month of July. This is actually the second to the final strategy that the FG can employ and may prolong matters for another 3 weeks during which various universities will then by executive order open the universities for students to resume but the lecturers will not teach. Students will out of happiness go back to campuses once the order is made but alas by the time they stay for 4 weeks and finish their money then the wise ones will go back home and the strike may by this time be in the 2nd week of September. The VP had a meeting with ASUU yesterday and is billed to meet again next Monday.

The last time the Chinese leader ran home from the G8 it was some people rioting in his country and some people here say those people are not religiously related to the same people disturbing the peace up north currently. There is a somehow relationship between Islam and violence, lets not beat around the bush on this one.

Don't believe the propaganda by government you see on TV. This same government is reported to have increased the salary of only the VC by over 200% to a basic of N1.3m now the various registrars and bursars are gingering SSANU and NASU to get a share of the booty. The least lecturer by the way who is an assistant lecturer earns about 65k with a masters degree so i don't know where you came up with 100k. You guys are going to be hearing rumor after rumor of strike being called off and some of you out of boredom will return to your campuses but alas it will just be as a beating of the air.
