We as teachers must learn to stay neutral and never sing the praises of any politician. Yes, it true that the present incumbent is relatively doing better than the previous incumbent, but that is not enough. Machiavelli once said " do not take by force what you can take by deception". All these politicians are good in one thing-they are well organized, united and know what they want. But we teachers are so disorganized and often time don't know what we want.
Can the Christmas bonus and even our salaries for 30 years buy you a car and build you a standard decent house? If you go to other African and Arab countries, you'll see a nursery school teacher driving a nice car to work.
It's an aberration for an educated mind to be grateful for a slave wage.
We must learn to present a united front and demand for our right.
If memory serves me correctly, we are still being owed two to three months arrears of 2016. Should we also be grateful for that?.
Having said that, Governor Fubara is doing great. He doesn't have any unkind bone in him.

It's not how long but how well...in other climes with better working conditions and remunerations 65 will be...If issues of early pensions, promotions, increment are not addressed 65years is like dragging the inevitable...all the same I appreciate the governor atleast some senior colleague have time now to prepare...

Am more concerned about the outcome of local autonomy and the fate of teachers under ube...because primary education is under local government just like primary health care

.....in as much as it is poor.. implementation is the problem and state governors are the biggest problem...I don't know why labour is not holding them accountable. Even with 30k as minimum wage alot of state including ours is yet to implement it.. I just wan see the excuse them go give if it's now 150k. am optimistic yet being a realist in the face of the gross systemic corruption in this country..workers are at the mercy of the government it's just bad..

I just spoke with my account officer at FCMB Bori branch, she explained that Zenith Bank is Rivers State Government bank, that, the Ministry of finance credited Zenith Bank with less amount hence Zenith Bank credited few banks with less amount given to them by ministry of finance

Its a pity that politicians what to steal the money... Chai they will go down with incurable disease if they don't pay that money. This is pure wickedness.
