Guys I really appreciate your comments. Sisi_Kill: @ OP,Please I don't know any either. He was on admission for three weeks at a teaching hospital. |
maclatunji: You need to give him something to focus on that he will value so much. Alcohol addiction will in all likelihood put him on the verge of losing it, once he reaches that point. Try and help him realise that he has to leave alcohol not to lose that thing he values so much. maclatunji: You need to give him something to focus on that he will value so much. After he left the hospital he look so thin that he needs to recover. The most difficult thing in life is to recommend someone for a job when you are not too sure of what he may do tomorrow. We are only trying to help him, so many are dead today but when there is life there is hope. I am tried of preaching to him. You said something he will value, please like what? if you give my brother 50 naira, thats is enough to do the damage for the day. His situation has gone to that level, he is going straight to ogogoro joint. I dont want any pity for him but a way out! |
Dear Nairalanders, I have an alcoholic brother and his situation is driving everybody crazy in the family. We have all prayed, fasted and try morally to support him. He ventured into politics at his tender age and he was president of so many association while in tertiary institution. Upon graduation in 2002 he went into full time civil politics, He started with councilor of our ward but he was dropped for another candidate, after four years he was appointed in a transition committe where he served as a supervisory councilor in 2007. During his tenure he performed well, but the elders of the party did not nominate him for another term in office due to his exessive drinking habit. He became frustrated and the matter gone from good to worst. I asked him to join me in Lagos in 2011 which he did but when his problem was too much for me to handle cos he was always quarelling with my wife after too much "sepe". I let him go back to his base, after some time we took him to General hospital that can treat his situation where he was for three weeks after that we brought him back to Lagos. My sister He is staying with can no longer tolerate him due to his drinking habit ! I cant bring him to my place because right now i work outside Lagos i cant live him home to socialise cos he was once like a Godfather to me and my friends, so i think he cant change if he is with me! How can i help, please I need advise. Note: He is a graduate with a good result and he is so versed in many areas of life and He is older than me! His wife left him last year to marry another man cos she thinks he cannot change his ways. He has a four years old son which he thinks he his not responsible to his tranining which add up more to his stress. |
I once date a friend sister and that lead a man to man fight with the brother and that lead to the end of our friendship! There was a time another friend of mine was dating my sister at my back. The day I got to know, we end our friendship on the condition that she can't be dating my sister and we will still be friends. And he is a very BAD guy when it comes to ladies that was like 8 years ago. We sent him to exile cos when my mum got to know it lead to a serious palaver he had to travel far away to Abuja. After like 2years of not communicating he called to apologise then a friend is about to travel out of the country. We have no place in Abuja than to pass the nite at his place, that's how we settled our scores and was pretending to be a changed person. I just told him last month it is impossible to Marry my sister, all that shit happened when she was in secondary school. Never can that happened again. The bottom line is that if you are a bad guy,you will keep bad friends and you want them near your sister though I think one of my friend can marry my sister but the rest hell no!!! I will break dem neck! |
My first car MaZda 626 wagon, 1998 model. Am still loving it and hoping more will roll in. I never repay the loan I took for the car finish sef. Lwkm...laugh wan kill me |

I need clarification fellow N'landers. As a owner of a company applying for Visa with your personal bank statement showing huge transactions I.e withrawals and deposits. You supply certificate of incopration of your company as evidence of your source of funds for your travel expenses. Is it possible to have issues with entry clearance officer claiming your company is a legal entity distinct from its shareholders? And do you need to supply tax clearance of such a business? Or what are the possible foreseable circumstances in this kind of situation. I need professional opinions please! |
You know I love you dearly maami, ise aje lo so omo nuu bi oko. Wishing many more years on earth. Happy mothers day! We love you! |
A fellow in law like me is in serious mess now cos he quit his job to partner with his childhood friend who happens to be an in law like us. What am saying is that we all marry our wives from the same family. The business had a little hike ups at start up level, then the music change! They are age mates and best of friends b4 now dat we family. The problem started from the chairman's wife which he married cos of the recommendation from his friend that their family is nice and cos chairman is not based here initially. She told her husband one day dat your friend is wasting 'our' money. The chairman confronted his friend and parted ways. Now he is in the labour market. I also know of a guy who won visa lottery, his chairman double his pay but the guy still left for USA. I said he is a fool BUT I later realize human beings are unpredictable!!! They will do u a favour and the day you mess up,they will remind you your days of little beginings(am guilty of this too) So if you can swallow your pride, join them but the day you buy a new car, they will think you stole their money to buy it. Expect the used car the man give to you that you can drive around with confidence. Let me ask you one question, what is your wife doing? Full time house wife? She is a graduate I guess and she attends a good university, why can't she head her dad's business? Just asking. On the other hand, for the man to accept you to marry her daughter that means he did not see you as a gold digger cos he would not have allow you marry his daughter in d first place. It is all about you and your ego as a man. Remember favour from God can come to a man through someone. Five months is too small to know your wife talkless your in laws. I was in courtship with my wife for six years, many things I don't know abt her until after marriage and having kids. Please think well |
Dear Seun, Weldone for starting NL. What I have learnt from fellow NLanders money can't buy. From travel auto family the list goes on and on. The world is going Mobile and lots of people browse with phone. Its been more than two weeks I browse on my laptop but I am always online with my BB. Expect when I want to do something complex my phone can't handle before I use my laptop. Seun don't worry let the haters leave we are even tired of them. Nigeria was rated as one of the top countries of internet users and this is mobile users that make up 70per cent of that number. Am always having issues posting on the old one from my phone. NL is a one man business so Seun you can make decision like Adenuga, no send their father....am going no where cos I never am enjoying NL |

I am a typical african and yoruba man,my wife can't pray that shit with me or else God will understand why I can't keep my cool. For her to smash the blackberry,if she is pointing a gun at me she could have pull the trigger before looking back and that will be too late. God forbid! @Poster,if you get back with this lady she will never try that nonsense again cos she will think twice henceforth. Don't mind what most of this our people are saying, we are talking real here not film. She deserve d beating cos she asked for it |
My son is 7th |
Ojo madukwe d biycycle man again? I laugh |
You have to have blackberry protect installed with Full BIS suscription on it for you to track it, I know this for sure! |
Your location is the most important thing,I am using Glo but I do experience downtime then I tried MTN cos of their coverage cos I travel a lot. My submission is that your location is paramont. Glo gives 3GB for 1400 whlie MTN gives 200MB for 1500 but the most annoything is that I have never exhausted more than 200MB of the 3Gb and it is paining me. If I want to watch you tube video,it will zap my credit. I really want to burn my data, some pls help me with the settings |
Most of my friends are Igbo cos am a catholic. My present MD is Igbo and most of my colleagues are Igbos. You will think am Igbo so I don't hate igbos. But the day I took an Igbo girl to my mum, she said God forbid! And this is a girl she knew for her childhood: her reason is that Igbos are too cunny thinking the girl will suck me dry! It almost happened. |
Rest in Peace Enenche AKOGUN!!! |
Na dis kain yeye things dem go dey talk, month end they will receive millions of naira. Nonsense. How many correct bills they pass last year. |
Aw d guy tAke escape sef? Someone shud tell me sometin I don't know |
When I read some people's comment, I feel like like slapping them forming Holy Holy Saint like image quoting Biblical verses. It is natural to begin to have feelings for someone you can always lean on or run to. In her case, she has not done anything immoral and some people have started pointing fingers! We need to be real here. |
Most of these replies are NOT from married people from my own point of view. The way you see marriage before getting into it is totally different from the way it is after marriage! Many are times you feel WHY DO I EVEN MARRY THIS MAN/WOMAN cos situation will always bring such moments. Right now am passing through the same phase, but I know I will soon overcome it. Why do people divorce or we want to claim it does not happen in our society? In marriage, there are times you wish you are still single, that's life! It is full of up n down, gallops, bumps etc @Op Since you are good with your husband now, move on with your life but I bet you one thing;their will be this guilt feelings as if you both played on each others feelings. It will hurt you most if your colleagues noticed that you guys are not that close again and start talking or your hubby might make one silly statement one day, so get prepared! |
Correct African man. Like your style |
Even during the days of old, lots of Prophets were critizied. But I believe him now though I use to doubt his miracles in the past but no anymore! Did you see millions of bag of rice he distributed last decemeber in maiduguri and Yola. My brother, that is a miracle to those disabled people who are neither christains or members of his church. Hope other pastor will do the same! Building universities church/tithes payers can't send their wards. God bless TB Joushua. What about his ministry sending food to Haiti,Iran etc Yet people will still critisize him |
My dear brother, its nice writing something because I read your piece for abt 5 precious mins. Weldone, good grammar, error free(not too sure but ok for me) I have one advice for you, there is no such woman you are looking for in real life. You will see a very beautiful lady but when you look closely, there will always be a fault somewhere. Her family, background, education, tone of her voice, cooking, dress sense, body odour, wrinkled face, empty brains etc What I even notice is that fine girls no dey sabi book. Very few you will come across that are brilliant cos they spend most of their precious times looking at the mirror, saloon, pedicure, manicure, reading fashion magazine, gossips etc. And you as a person, you sound as if you are Mr Nigeria. Make yourself everything(all the qualities) and ladies will key into your lifestyles. I love good food too but am a good cook,so my woman will go xtra mile so as to make her own better. Get it? Don't you see that couples do look like brother and sister with time! There is no perfect person,we all are just trying to make things work! |
If Soldiers can't allow us on ground then we shit our protest to the internet,BB, Twitter,2go and facebook. No retreat, No surrender |
Our president should listen to voice of the people so that He won't regret later. He does not want to accept defeat! Where is Gadhaffi today, Mubarak Nko? Dis guy for Tunisia, some should remind me his name! They are all history now. GEJ watch your back |
Weldone guys |
No time, it is only the rich people that have the time for Golf. After four hours in hold up, expect weekends! And that's the time to rest |
