For younger Igbo generation, it has more to do with this forum. If you stay in this forum long enough and read replies from the Yoruba long enough you'll understand why.
That must be a very id.iotic "younger Igbo generation". Don Jazzy's collaboration with D'Banj has made him rich. You better use your brain.

LOL. So what happens to your father's printing press in LAGOS?

For anybody interested, read this bushman's posts on this thread:

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=809273.msg9616694#msg9616694

The press stays and flourishes over there and remains one of the best known in the SW with a new bigger branch under construction in Abuja. The press is located there because that is where the customers are situated (which are not individuals but multinational companies) and if the major companies among these customers relocate the next day, the press would relocate with then. Economics 101.

I am a grown man and can afford to tow my own path since I can afford it and if keeping away from lagos is part of my decision, who are you to question it.

What you might not know is that my secondary school was attended in lagos and that was where my innocent perspective about yorubas was changed for ever.

Is it the constant Igbo jokes in class by students and teachers or the everyday downright embarrassing questions over Igbos and cannibalism from fellow students or the downright tribalism you face from yoruba teachers because you appeared to be smarter or more intelligent than your fellows.

Like I said, I do not hate yorubas because they are not worth it but I learned a lot about them and those experiences have partially molded my view on them.

Like I said earlier, lagos is where the mils are coming from for my pops and he is a wise man for utilizing that opportunity for as long as he can.

My path is different.

For me personally, I just do not care about yorubas and their existence is irrelevant to me. I do not hate them because I do not see them as that important to my existence to confer such strong emotion towards them.

Everything about them is inconsequential to me. I cannot date their women, would deliberately not befriend them or approach them for any cooperation, unless situation demands that, don't find their lifestyle or appearances appealing to me and just simply don't deem them viable to anything in my life.

It is not hate and I view them just as I would view distant somalis, irrelevant.

My plane drops at MMA and I'm on the next route to my homeland and have no time to observe them in lagos.

If Nigeria ceases today, I wouldn't say there's anything about them that I would miss.

That is my stance, on and offline.

He is entitled to his opinion. What he said has an element of truth to it. Most Igbos in Lagos have absolutely no contact with Yoruba people. The only time they speak to a Yoruba person is perharps when they want to buy Akara or to the bus conductor. For some reason, most Igbos give them a wide berth. Must have something to do with their very UNRELIABLE NATURE. Yorubas will call the police on you for the stupidest of reasons

I think the answer needed is in this question to be answered- apart from d civil war, has there been any historic case in nigeria where igbos were being fought in d southwest to leave? Or yorubas were being fought in the south to leave? Is that a 'NO'? So what d hell is ds topic for? Idiottas

In anycase, Yoruba woman are much more hornier than Igbo women. I love me some Yoruba babe in bed. They're so Hot that they're already wet on the way to your house. And that booty !. I wil take that anytime.
Generally speaking, I LIKE THOSE YOU LIKE ME.

** The civil war should be totally left out of this discussion. It's of no consequence**

Blah blah blah. . .

I can't believe you are still talking. This is the same person who claims Yorubas are more promiscuous than Igbos; then he says he has no time to study them - he just lands in MMA and breezes to Igbo land. I think you just don't study them; you sit and take notes to do exams to enter into your Society for Dimwitted Bigots. Smarter than who? If you are half as smart as you claim, you wouldn't be here contradicting yourself.

It depends on d person's background. An igbo person that grew up in a remote rustic area in the east and having heard biased tales of how every Yoruba folk is a juju freak will be apprehensive whenever he/she sees a yoruba person.
See, without bigotry, even if you are from a rural area you won't merely base your perception of an ethnic group on hearsay; after all who says Igbos do not engage in fetish? Certainly any Igbo person who says "Yorubas are fetish" is living in denial as they are no more or less fetish. So that person must already have a bias which of course limits logical reasoning.

Exactly. He was so dimwitted and defensive that he thought you were mocking where he lives - Germany. He didn't realize you were pointing out how much of an irony it was that he lived in Germany (which is culturally open and averse to ethnic bigotry especially after the WW2 experience).

it is obvoius that we d yorubas dont hate the ibos but r careful wen dealin wit dem. in alll of dis we stil accomodate their xcesses. find out how many yorubas r marryin d ibos compared wit ibos marryin yorubas. doin my service yr i refused 2 date yorubas but rada dated 2 nicce and surprisinly kind hearted ibos ladies. i even proposed 2 marry one  but tat was wen the tribal issue came up, so i had 2 back off.
but 2 b sincere , reasons abt d hatred is hw easily dey can even betray themselves over money not 2 talk of oda tribes.

Most of my friends are Igbo cos am a catholic. My present MD is Igbo and most of my colleagues are Igbos. You will think am Igbo so I don't hate igbos.

But the day I took an Igbo girl to my mum, she said God forbid! And this is a girl she knew for her childhood: her reason is that Igbos are too cunny thinking the girl will suck me dry! It almost happened.

Drop all this hatred and give peace a chance, cause even if Nigeria splits, there will still be no unity amount the fractions,
Anambras will not trust ikwerres,
Ifes will not trust modakekes
Oyos will not trust ijebus
Ijaws will not trust onitsha people
So. The drama continues
