I have interacted with people from many countries and the most striking difference in thinking of people from developed countries vs poor countries can be summarized as below:

Poor country people: Our country is in bad situations because current president is corrupt and only thinks of himself. I miss the old president. I hope that next president will be good.

Developed country person thinking: There are problems with certain policies so people of our town gathered and solved that problem. I need to study and work hard to help country and bring it forward.

People from poor countries believe in bad/good president. They think their fate is in the hands of the rulers. They think their action is not important and only a superman president can lift the country. They simple don’t believe in their power.

People from developed countries think that it is their responsibility to move nation forward, not the president’s (C)

The Presidency on Friday said it would investigate two new members of the board of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, who were said to be undergoing investigations by the same commission.

The Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, had during the week named a new chairman and board members of the commission.

But there were media reports on Friday that two of the board members are currently being investigated by the ICPC.



When asked the step the Presidency would take on the matter, the Senior Special Assistant to the Acting President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, said the allegation would be thoroughly investigated.

“These claims would be promptly investigated. The Presidency will surely do only what is right, proper and seen to be so,” Akande said.

Osinbajo had on Tuesday redeployed the Chairman of the ICPC, Ekpo Nta, to the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.

In his place, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye was appointed as chairman with a renewable tenure of five years.

Owasanoye was part of the Prof. Itse Sagay-led Presidential Committee on Anti-Corruption.

Also appointed as members of the ICPC board are Dr. Grace N. Chinda, Okolo Titus M., Obiora Igwedebia, Mrs. Olubukola Balogun, Group Capt. Sam Ewang (retd.), Justice Adamu Bello, Hannatu Mohammed and Abdullahi Maikano Saidu.

Others are Dr. Sa’ad Alanamu, Yahaya Umar Daud, Khamis Ahmed Mailantarki, Maimuna Aliyu while Prof. Musa Usman Abubakar would serve as secretary.

“The appointment of the Chairman is for five years, while the tenure for all the members is four years. Also, these appointments are subject to Senate confirmation”, the statement added.

well I won't blame them (the parasites of Nigeria), this is what a useless president GEJ brought to his people, for six years a useful president would have lobbied the Senate headed by a loyal David mark and Co. to pass the PIB bill undiluted. even if it required some level of political harassment..
the useless man forgot it and rather focused on building amajiri schools in the north with money made from oil producing communities. he saw himself as a rightful indigene of Abuja (Aso Rock),
today, as a Rivers citizen how would I possibly blame the Buhari led Senate for passing this injustice called Bill??
