Politics › Re: 3 Ways APC Made A Mistake By Allowing Tinubu Address The Edo Crisis by ourema(f): 5:45pm On Aug 08, 2020 |
The truth of the matter is the fact that Tinubu is fighting for his own right. He knew that should the APC lost the election he would have to face the same challenge in the states where he was known to be godfather. So in a way he is in trouble. Let's assure PDP win in Edo then an elected governor in Lagos or Osun can take up the courage to show disloyalty. No godfather loves a disloyal party man |

harsysky: Life is a risk. like a reader commented up there, time and chance happen to people whether you choose to up your game or you choose to marry when not buoyant. If I had not seen a poor man who rose to wealth , and a wealthy man who became poor, I would certainly think a man has 100% influence on how their lives go .
The overall advice would be to have a source of income before dabbling into marriage, then get other sources of income to complement whatever cometh. At all times, pray without ceasing because real wealth isn't made, it is inherited from anybody. Take a look at majority of those who are billionaires, you would agree with me that they never believed they would be what they are now. If we all understand the way things work in this world, which isn't possible, we will be able to predict the future. Very sensible indeed |

gidgiddy: Lugard created Nigeria 105 years ago. If we haven't learned to love each other in all that time then there will never be any love.
The constitution we currently practice was concocted by Northern military leaders to favour the North.
No matter how good a leader Nigeria has, he will still be handicapped by bad constitution and an unworkable system.
No matter how good a driver is, if the engine of the car is bad, he wont get far. Thank you enough for this |

LegendHero: What kind of budget should they have presented going by the current realities of our daily crude oil production volume and price?
Can you just give a 3 line summary of what you think will be a growth oriented budget Mr. Economist? I The crude oil sales bench mark forthe budget is in the region of $58 per barrel. Forecast for oil prices next year put the price at the region of $50 2. Increase in VAT will increase inflation rate and poverty 3 OPEC bench mark for Nigeria is 1.8 million barrels per day |

Politics › Re: Do You Still Believe Nigeria Will Get Better? by ourema(f): 12:54pm On Sep 25, 2019 |
If Nigeria must ever change to a better happier and more prosperous country the following must be done
1. We must learn to love each other irrespective of the religion we belong to
2. The nation as currently governed based on the Constitution will never lead to progress. The constitution is heavily skewed by some selected individuals to favor them. To this end, if we ever hope to be progressive and achieve a level of success we need to do away with the current constitution. Yes, GEJ may have erred in several ways however the constitutional conference he organized would have led to a better nation.
3. Since the no. 2 above may not likely happen except in a coupe it means we have a very long way way to go. 4. The nation may progress if we have a sound leader but even if we have one because of the the system we operate based on on the Constitution very little progress can be achieved |

Travel › Re: Africans Live Better Lives Than Most Americans by ourema(f): 9:42pm On Aug 31, 2019 |
Olominira: I have been to a number of countries around the world. The honest truth is that if Nigeria had achieved 24 hours electricity around 2006-2009, I'm talking of 10 years ago, nearly 80-90 percent of Nigerians would be better off than same figure in United States. As at 2019 43 million Americans are living in poverty.
Nigeria is a country with rich culture and people still believe in their heritage. The leaders are smart but lack of love for their fellow citizens, greediness for personal gains are the main problem. This does not include the leaders from first republic.
Now, this is the way forward to a better Nigeria. Firstly, Nigerian leaders must strengthen her justice system this includes police reform, military and others. The judiciary must be made strong, with that anyone committing crime would know that the law would take its course.
Secondly, provide stable electricity. Yes. Do not look at the west for solution. Focus on China, Japan and Russia if possible. P & ID case has shown that western power does not want us for any good.
Thirdly, Reform the educational system. In fact, let Nigerians study in Nigeria or within Africa. As at today, if Nigerians and other third world countries stop attending UK universities their education would collapse with 3 years because even most British citizens cannot afford afford it.
On final note, Nigerian government needs, as a matter of fact very urgently launch a world class TV station like CNN, CGTV, France 24, etc to reshape people's thinking about Nigeria and Africa. Yes, include a lot of propaganda. The issue of P & ID should be on the air for a minimum of 3 months. Through this mean, the government would create a lot of nationalists that would influence a lot of good things about the country.
There's tribalism in Nigeria today because there are no opportunities for the young people, Nigerian people still believe the west are superior than them, no, they're not. Nigerians are better off. Wake up Nigeria, the potential is too much to be wasted. Every single day, the western power is trying so hard to destroy Nigerian people emotionally and psychologically. How on earth will Lagos be the most dangerous city in the world? How on earth will a country with 500bn economy still has more poor people than the likes of India of 1.3bn people with economy of 2.5T, Pakistan, and so on?
The people of SE must not allow themselves to be used, Nigerian people must come together and stand for what's best for them. Nigeria Govt as a matter of fact, must pacify these people and bring them to the national politics either by making a public apology for the Biafra war or anything to appease the Igbo and let the country grow once for all. Fantastic write up but you forgot to include the need to overhaul the 1999 constitution. That document is a fraud |
