and in US too,criminals don't get away with crime.even cold cases,some as old as fifty years are being reopened from time to time and and in most cases the culprits are found and punished.

My take on this is the little girl knows the culprit,possibly someone that is close to the family but she is afraid to tell.the culprit might have told the girl that if she tell she will die.the parents and the police need to employ special techniques to get the girl to talk.
