What I don't understand is if the VOs are in doubt of large families?[/quote

If anything, it is often said that Canada lovess children.
They say people with family of 4 or 5 get PPR faster.
You have no worry.
Remember that their birth rate is declining

Hello all,

Please this is for residents of London, Ontario.
I will be landing there early August.
I would love to rent a place before landing.
Please what are the recommended safe neighborhoods or areas?

Also any realtor recommended will be appreciated

MAYA2019:
Hello everyone, I have been following and reading a lot, though never contributed. Sorry about that. We have gotten our PPR and COPR, and my husband is suggesting we leave in August. Im very grateful to God for this opportunity but I also have my fears. I have a 3 months old baby which means I cant work for I period of time and that is where the fear comes in. I have a very good job here in Nigeria that pays me more than half a million a month. I have never depended solely on my husband to provide everything we needed. I have always worked even when I was in school. I love my family so the option of me going to just land and come back is out of the question because I can never be separated from them ( by the way we have 4 kids).
Pardon me if Im going in circles but the thing is I need advice on what to do while nursing my baby at home.
Your story is similar to mine but unlike you I am looking forward to a break from work, work, work.
You can use the nursing period to do some certifications and upgrade yourself. Or if you are too bored I guess you can do part time work.
But you are the real MVP... 4 children to look after and you are worried about not working.
May Canada favour you

Job prospects are more in the GTA than in London.

Its the same thing in Nigeria, housing is way cheaper in Ondo than in Lagos but your job prospects are way higher in Lagos.
Thank you for your response @AzeD1

Hello Everyone.

So I'm awaiting PPR and considering where to settle. From my research here and via google I picked interest in London Ontario. It appears that the city has affordable housing, friendly weather. But I'm wondering why much people don't go there? Pple seem to prefer Toronto and some other much expensive cities in the GTA.

Why is this? Please help with ur opinions, so I don't make a mistake.

@Thecongo2, @bsbabe, @wholesomegrace, @naijaforeigner thanks for the information shared about the place. I'll appreciate more sha, make una no vex abeg

Good day seniors and those not yet landed. I greet you all.

I am awaiting PPR, so I decided to come here for information.
I'd like to ask, how do you all get to easily pick the city\province to settle in?

I need advice pls. I have over 10years banking experience in Marketing n customer service. Spouse's Field is community devpt, but ready to take on any legal well paying job

Initially, my fears abt relocating was the weather. So I picked Ontario/GTA to settle. Spouse has a sibling in Saskatoon. She has been advising us to land in Saskatoon ist as she will help rent a place, help with furnishing like mattresses before we even land, employment applications, help take us around in the early days to enable us not spend much. She suggested that we can then move to any province we like.

Is this wise? I've read that Saskatoon is really cold and will it really be easy to just start relocating later on? My son will be 4 by September and was hoping to enrol him in a school in Ontario by then and get working. However, with Saskatoon I guess that will be postponed by a year and I'll have to make do of part time jobs.

What do you guys think? Is it really difficult to settle /integrate if don't know anyone in Ontario/GTA/Canada.

People who were in this situation how did you do it

Sorry for the long post

2) the letter of indebtedness did not contain the following;
- account number
- the date the account was opened
- the current balance of the account
- the average balance for the past six month

Are the document as they are sufficient? What should I do?
Do you mean letter of reference?
Letter of INDEBTEDNESS means you are owing the bank. Pls check well

Thanks for this response. Was actually thinking the credit system would work in the same way criminal and other global checks are conducted - checking with other national partners to foresee any risk.

Generally speaking, I’ll be surprised if there’s no existing program in place to bridge this gap.

Thanks again.

Good day all.

I have been a silent student on this thread since part 2. Still awaiting ECA from iqas but preparing other stuff.

My question is as per POF, does one have to show salary account statement? Also, in filling post ITA forms will one be asked if you have any bank loan? If yes, will that disqualify you?

I'm a banker eligible for gratuity when I resign. However I can access the gratuity by loan before I leave. I plan to do this for POF. But won't want to submit the salary account SOA where the loan narration will show. I also have mortgage loan with Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria. Will this be problem?

This has been bugging me for a while now. Elders pls I need ur opinion. @newmum, glitteringstar, einstino, mcstan, everybody pls assist

Hello house,
Due to the obvious merits of IQAS evaluation of B.L & LLB over WES, I tried to opened IQAS account for my sister now, I find out that I couldn't pay their fees with my debit cards. Unlike, WES that I used my debit card for myself and another friend successfully.
Please, those that used/using IQAS, how did you make your payment? I need to know so that I can complete the profile account opening asap.
I used Gtb card to pay successfully

Hello all, pls how easy is it to become a teacher in Canada. Has anybody qualified for this here? I have 11 years banking experience. Bsc English language, masters in media arts. But i want to switch career. My colleague here in naija said Canadian govt can never allow an immigrant become a teacher to their children.
I doubt this.

If it's possible, what are the processes? How long will it take and what can it cost. Thanks a lot for your anticipated comments

Please I have been following this thread for encouragement for a while now. I'm a tired banker of 10yrs, 2 children with a spouse unwilling to relocate. (He blivs naija will get beta etc etc) I've gone ahead with my PR applications hoping he'll change his mind. Now I want to find out, for those who did short landing, how many years is the validity of PR for you to come back?
I mean can you do short landing, go back then decide to fully relocate after 2, 3 years? What's the maximum period pls?

Pls help me out on this enquiry

Pls I only have statement of result of masters degree. Which body accepts this for ECA. I have been searching their sites and they all mention 'certificate'. Does WES or IQAS or ICES accept statement of result?

Good day all.

Kindly advise on the best evaluating body to use for ECA. WES, IQAS, ICES, ICAS.

I want to validate masters degree from Uniabuja. I didn't want wes cos I wanted to avoid the whole verification process. But then I am also hearing that Iqas is now slow.

As for ices and icas, I haven't heard any reviews about

My good people, kndly advise me on the best one to use please

Please it would be nice to read an elaborate post on how long it took you guys to get a job, what type of job and what you did or could have done differently. Also, how you made the transition from a job that pays the bills to your career. I think thats the missing link right now.

Thanks alot
I think this is really important. Cos its the reason most of us are leaving/left Nigeria in the first place. I have also read thru most of the pages and the detailed info on the transition from jobs to pay bills into career jobs are not much. Seniors pls share and advise us so we can be well prepared. Thanks in advance

Good day everyone. I'm still new here. I'm P.A. our scores are fine but we are considering saving cost by not processing ECA for hubby. Pls for you guys who have already moved to Canada;

1. when you apply for a job over there do they ever request for your ECA on your certificates? We just want to know so it doesn't affect us when we finally relocate
.
2. I have MSC and BSc. Is it necessary to do ECA on both? Will I need to show ECA on both degrees when we finally relocate?

Pls help clarify my elders.
