my story is quite annoying...i am nancy...16 years of age....i just got admitted into ABSU to study microbiology...tho what i had always wanted as a child is to be a medical doctor....but along the way i got scared of the high requirements to get admitted(like the high jamb score, this is my second time of writing jamb and i didn't want to sit back at home for another year and that medicine is a very competitive course)...i heard i could change my course after 100level...but my parents are not supportive...i don't know if i should just study the microbio or what....i am confused...and need advice from matured minds
happy buffdae to you! Happy buffdae to you! Happy buffdae to you dear Nancy! Happy buffdae to you. Hipppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp hurararrrrrrrrrrayyyyyyyy! Happy birthday Nancy!
You know how i felt when i became 17,i was like men this going to be fun. I ll get to start college that year. I ll probably even get a girl friend and a xbox( i wld prefer the xbox ) well i got only two of my wishes i got the xbox and a girlfriend but i ddnt get into college ( jamb! Oh ye wicked jamb) funny thing is that it was not until 3 years later that i finally got in. So babe you still have time to decide which way to go med or mcb, you re still so young that i could call you my daughter. So let me give you a simple advice like the daughter i don't have yet. Nancy! Shey you want to be ductor? You want to wear white coat and stab innocent patients with injections? Well my little " very young " daughter i ve chosen this auspicious day of your birth anniversary to announce to you that i also wished to be a doctor, i wanted to stab people things too ( and i succeeded on that part or how else where you born)but i failed in my dreams i ws also scared of jamb scores and i flopped. But do not flop my young daughter your career as a medical stabber em! Sorry doctor cannot be displaced for anything don't flop. Start the microbiology stuff and still keeping writing your jamb.

Ok. I know u re kind of surprised but i ve set out a day of my life to visit a single member of this forum on the birthday list and celebrate with them. Jeez! You re 17 and you re more active in the romance section what do you discuss? Ok spare me that happy birthday switheeeeeee

My point exactly! Bound by what was done to them!

Europe is bound by what they are DOING in politics and commerce.

For as long as Africa defines its identity with reference to what was done to them, nothing will ever get done.

But, yes, this is an extreme view. I am sure there's the correct position between yours and mine somewhere.
there is something i ve learnt from looking through the leaves of big textbooks of foreign politics. It is the fact that "in the international system the end justifies the means" so i now understand why you southafricans act the way you do, so what commercial and economic interest did southafrica have in CAR when it deployed troops there? Since you are an advocates of non-sentimentalism in international relations

South Africa’s defence intelligence community is still on track to acquire a military satellite at a cost of over R1 billion.
thats cool, i think africa may grow into something else by the later part of this century. Imagine two african nations Nigeria, southafrica (pending) having military satelites and even one african/nigerian satelite is on the global disaster warning constellation that one was able to take pictures of hurricane kathrina before any satelite in the world. We re moving towards somthing great but we wont get there with this our attitude towards each other. We can share intelligence and info from this satelites we could even from a African defence constellation with one of our satelite from nigeria and one from egypt and southafrica forming a triangle of defence intelligence sharing. Now thats just me " Greaming"

Following on your Tuareg-Boko Haram links, I find this very interesting:

Nigeria: Boko Haram crisis and the regional geopolitics of oil (Part 2)

Anyway, African unity is a pipe dream, which in reality comes as a response to colonisation. What unites nations are symbiotic relationships, either in commerce or politics
going by the situation in other regions like europe Asia and the caribean you may be right. But may i remind you that africa can easily be classified as a nation of people binded together by a common skin colour, common history, common failures, common struggle, common injuries and common victories i.e. the victory over slavery, colonialism, apathied , racism and economic woes of newly independent states. We re unique my good friend. You cannot compare the bond that binds african states with that of any other nations on earth except the Arabs

There is no link
what are you saying?
you need to spend time to research on ethnoreligious conflicts in the islamic maghreb on the 21st century. How could you say they are not related? Please can somebody here help me to tell this young man that the tuaregs in mali had links enough with Boko haram that even when Nigerian troops were been moved to be deployed in Mali " AL ansaru" the hostage taking and international arm of Bokoharam detonated a IED on their convoy killing 2 men and injuring five.
http://beegeagle./2013/01/19/2-nigerian-soldiers-killed-as-suspected-terrorists-attack-military-convoy-in-central-nigeria/
you can check the list of terrorist attck on wiki for verification if you pls.
The Tuaregs are related enough for us to nigeria to have sent its secret service to mali long before the international intervention to study the connections between boko haram and the malian war.
It is related enough for us to start seeing weapons and artillery used in the malian war in nigeria after the war. It should be noted also that it was after the malian war that Bokoharam started using AAA mounted technicals and some ex-tuareg toyota machine gun trucks. How can you say it is unrelated? My man in extremism there is nthing like unrelatedness. British citizens are now pubicly fighting and beheading people under ISiS in Iraq and syria and so also american citizens xo my friend dont ever say they are not related
http://m.aljazeera.com/se/201463115816142554
they are related nigeria i fighting a international war that up until now have not been documented under any known intellectual compedium on strategic studies. I feel really bad that we do not have any african country competent enough to share intelligence, equipments and also train with cus it is better to ask for help from a brother than a friend. As for all of you blaming nigeria for asking for western support, i must make it clear to you that nigeria would have asked for african support if there happened to be any african country that was dependable enough to help. Just imagine cameroon that we re supposed to rely on. Always running to the news to gain attention at the expence of nigeria issues that ought to be passed through diplomatic channels are being exposed to the media to undermine the efforts of a brother nation. Is this not what we re all boasting about? That SA seized nigerian money and therefore SA is powerful ( is that not an insane parametre to measure how strong a state is, if thats how power should be measured then liberia can kill all nigerian citizens in its country and call itself powerful) i keep telling you people that the western powers have no business in Africa if we could form a united front to solve our problems. I told your man Lord Eeben the other time and he took up the maxim a african solution to a african problem

M13 were the most feared and organised rebel group in africa before we took them on. We helped defeat them and made them look bad.

Boko haram was the most comical group in africa before you took them on. You've made them look good and ended up being the actual joke.
no. Boko haram was a comical group before the aftermath of the libyan war and the Tuareg militants in the Maghreb. The connection, experience and equipment that Boko HAram has in its control will make the M23 rebels look like a Boyscout club.

That is why you were taught SUMMARY writing in school...
were you also taught a55hole writing in school?? Where a point needs to be validated a poster have no obligation to anybody who does not like his or her style or approach, only a simpleton, dull person would ask a question and still complain about the answer that the answer is too long or too correct or comprehensive.

you should do your research before embarrasing yourself, the biafran army had the vintage B26 Bomber jet, they also made IEDs,rifles and bombs locally due to crippling sanctions place on then by nigeria, the war wasnt documented in details, especially on the biafran side,so the exact number of weapons and military gadgets cant be ascertained, due to necessity and desperation they created the locally made weapon of mass destruction they dubbed "ogbunigwe",how else do you think they sustained the war for two and a half years, they were under heavy sanctions, blockade and constant assualt!.the renown 'ogbunigwe' was capable of wiping out troops in hundreds!
try to help us with documentations of casualties on the nigerian sides to validate your point at least since the biafran side stayed on the dark during the war.

Henry120:
South-Africa has a well drilled military, and a sophisticated, well developed defence media. It also helps that their photos are training photos, it's one of the sure ways to build patriotism amongst the rest of the population, and build confidence in the military. So, if there's a major military exercise, even if the DOD or mainstream media do not release photos of the exercise, you are 99.9% certain that defence related media outlets would.

2) like the rest of Africa, the same problem/ soviet era mentality plaguing the Nigerian military, also affects militaries of Kenya, Uganda and the rest of Africa. Amisom is an A.U led mission, this is why photos are released, including photos of the Nigerian police FPU in Somalia. Amisom in many was has been a spectacular success for the A.U, so the A.U wants to as much as possible leverage on this success story.

3) Amisom Photos, just like the SANDF photos are professionally taken, in many ways, Amisom photos are even better. The man reason for this is, Amisom forces, especially the Ugandans embedded experienced, war photo-journalists in their operations. So, the Ugandans get 70% of Amisom photo publicity. While the Kenyans, burundians, Ethiopians et al share 30%.

The last KDF photos were top notch.

4) yes, the Nigerian navy is the only arm of the Nigerian military that releases photos, yet, even they, have also stopped. The last officially released NN photos were from Exercise African winds in November of 2013. From that time till today, the Nigerian Navy has carried out 5-6 Major training exercises (obangame 2014, Majepo, Joint Chinese anti-piracy drills, 2 Joint exercises with the British, a large combined west-African drill), yet not a single photo from the Navy. The much smaller exercise would be calling for too much from the navy.

Exercise Majepo was a live firing exercise which involved 10 naval platforms, held at the eastern naval command in calabar. Yet, nothing.

The Nigerian navy has greatly improved the reputation of the Nigerian military, and unless they revert to their active P.R, their efforts would be lost.

5) Defence companies operating in Nigeria are grossly under-reported, this is a shame. They also vary from production to maintenance, boats, vessels, APC, protective gear et al.

Inkas has a production facility in Nigeria (canada).
Streit group another Canadian company has a maintenance facility.
Proforce Defence
DICON
DICON/Proforce MOU on the production of APC's.
Arza Armouring
there's also a Chinese company that produces APC's in Nigeria, V.P Sambo alluded to this.
Mekahog
Mondant

So, this sector is under-reported. The companies should also learn how to market themselves.

Wale ur presido dun go pay homage

[b] if the president of Nigeria steps into the Burkinham palace they will announce it out like this.
Your majesty. The president of the largest nation in Africa, the leader of blacks everywhere have come to benefit us with his honoured presence. And then the queen will come out and receive him, she will give him a document containing a list of all British interest in Nigeria and also thank him for allowing the operation of British companies in Nigeria. She will then receive a similar documentation from Jonathan. That is how the president of a great nation is received. Is not like mahama that wrote a cute poem about the queen and travelled from Ghana to UK to show her the poem. So that the queen can say oh! Mahama this is beautiful i never knew you could write like this it is very fine. And then she will hand him a few coins to compensate his efforts.
