you misunderstand sir. I said Nigeria has weathered a lot of turmoil in its 52 years and 8 more years is nothing. So Nigeria will still be here in 2020.

I'm not in support of her action; her actions are obviously unethical. However, i'm against the incessant raining of insults on her, she's clearly misguided and asked for help, people should be trying to help her and not condemn her to flogging or whatever. This is 2012 not the 1800s.

I don't want this to turn into some big arguments, there are too many of those on nairaland already. I think she deserves some sympathy because she was brave enough to ask for help on such a sensitive issue on a public forum in a pretty conservative country as Nigeria.

The problem is cultural which is a combination of ethnicity and politics. Most "elected" Nigerian politicians go into office with the hope of accumulating as much personal wealth as possible instead of doing their job, working for their populace or community. We need to change that. The wealth of our communities/country should be our biggest concern, if our country is rich then we are rich.
