I sometimes feel anyone successfully scammed in Lagos is either careless, selfish or unlucky, I Never grew up in Lagos n I don't believe in jazz, whenever I am in Lagos I follow designated routes, I don't look for free ride, or cheap once, I will never allow 2,3 or 4 unknown pple box me in a corner, or follow desolate places inform of cutting corners, I'm not familiar to Lagos so if u ask for directions d ans is I don't know, I have walked up majestically to police stations n officer to ask 4 direction, keep ur gadget where its difficult for criminals to access such as bags n keep it close, bail when anyone tells u o dollars or try to derail u off course, finally be security conscious n shine your eyes at all times.....

"Dee" comes from a very well to do family while i dont so when we got married, i made her feel we are in this together, not one above the other but as partners in EVERYTHING. To be fair to her she brought up the business idea we did years ago, in other to put forth money to start up, i made sure i had equal money as her for it, goal was to own a property, build et al. Unfortunately my dad's ailing health deteriorated to the extent that he had to be flown out, when the profit came, i told her and she agreed, she decided we split it into two so she use hers for the initial plan. As the first born i went with my dad, back here she got the property and started building, when i came back the remaining money with me was used to complete it, what was left was used for my parents house. Being a trust worthy person i feel she is, i didnt bother to check documents cos i felt she would do the right thing by putting both our names which she kept in a bank.

When telecos were cutting prices of calls and other services, eventually, some cost will be optimized, that is business. And yes, people that think they deserve more should be bold enough to leave. MTN cannot be compelled to to alter HR policies of independent organizations that render service. What NLC should have done is shut down ISON BPO which in turns affects MTN, then MTN will be asked not to do business with organizations with low HR standards. It is that simple. NLC talked about MTN staff in all their claims, and you and I know MTN pays and treats her employees well..is that not deliberate misinformation if everyone keeps shouting MTN.

In your example above, if you were been asked to do a task that is really outside your scope or overtime without compensation, that must be reported to your parent company. And by the way, MTN pays overtime for every hour worked outside normal working time.

Why must MTN be in fore front of an issue that has to do with independent companies. If Julius Beger does not pay well and they are doing construction work for FG. Is it ministry of works that you will shut down or Julius berger. Are you a FG staff because all the projects you have been on in Julius Berger are FG projects?

So many examples abound. The underlying issue here is Nigerians herd mentality. MTN and its staffs are not complaining and there will be no headway with companies like ISON BPO if they are not talked to directly. NLC is alsp eager to do this because of their own pockets. If you think they are fighting for workers right, then we are on a long thing.

I can give you 1000 companies that are even worse than ISON BPO, because they bribe NLC, no one hears anything.

If we want to fight for better working conditions, we must target the real culprits not the guys we think we give us more money.

You talk from the perspective of an outsider now listen to this, Mtn paid its CCR roughly #80-90k as at 2007-2010 when it contracted it call center n some processes to a company CNSS... for 5yrs this company paid around 63-65k with 13th month d contract expired in 2015 and Mtn gave the contract to ISON BPO for 5yr from 2015-2020 they started paying 46k later recruitment paid 34k with very stringent working conditions, will Mtn claim they are not aware of the poor remuneration and working conditions of Ison staffs, is this not a deliberate effort to exploit, Ison may and cannot do more than what Mtn pays, Mtn pays the piper and dictates virtually everything that goes on in Ison bpo, there are many companies hiding under they are not our staff but working for us, who do u want to complain to when the answer you get is simply resign there are thousands looking for your job. Mtn will always hide but they at complicit and part of the matter.
