neni83: Hey ๐ค 1. Email the embassy via the feedback option after login to Mama's cgi profile... telling them to update her new passport number . This is like awareness, they will reply within 2 days. If they respond positively , you will have to reprint the visa appointment letter again so that it will reflects the new passport number . 2. She can as well attend her interview with both old and new passports. The new passport is as good as the old one because it carries the old passport number as well. The new passport continues the work of the old passport . Best Wishes ๐ |

neni83: Hey ๐ค 1. Login to her cgi profile and look out for update profile... click on it and the system will takes you to her bio-data page... look out for where DS 160 number and Passport number is written (old ones), clear it off and type your new DS 160 number and new passport number in the spaces ...stroll downward and click on save. 2. After 3 days . Log back to Mama's cgi profile and click on Appointment.... it will take you to download Appointment or email Appointment... choose anyone that fits you and print out a new visa appointment letter for Mama. ** The new visa appointment letter will carry the new ds 160 and the new passport numbers (automatic update completed). 3. Regarding the MRV. Mama is good to attend her interview with the new passport and the mrv payment receipt. You cannot edit or amend the MRV (except if GTB will re-issue a new one but i doubt the possibility). But the good news is that Mama's new passport will also carry her old passport number (which reflects on the mrv receipt ). ** Alternatively, she can attend the interview with both old and new Passports. Immunity04: Hey ๐ค @immunity04. 1. The modus operandi of USA embassies Bank statement verification is totally different to those of UK. Canada, Australia , and New Zealand. 2. If you like you can deposit the required money in the morning of your interview. If you have a billion in the account its none of their business. They only needs to verify the genuineness of the account, the originality of the funds as well as the current balance to cover or over cover your 1st year expenses. 3. Your only immunity to F1 visa denial is the genuineness of the bank statement and other facts as quoted above and keeping your mouth shut in the presence of the CO when necessary. Don't sing the praises the consular has not asked you to sing. Best Wishes 1 Like |

Ghideourn: Hey ๐ค @Ghideourn. *** Congratulations, and i am personally receiving your appreciation in good heart. 1. But don't you think that 60 days arrival is too young to start focusing on getting back to nairaland ? Besides, i do hope you have found employment and working on changing status or are you going to over-stay your B1/B2 visa ? 2. Another point is that having a B1/B2 visa has not made you or qualified you as a certified USA visa processing expert. Can you answer or handle F1. H-1B, H2-A, H2-B, H1-C H-3, M1 and K1 visas procedures? USA has more than 30 visa types which need years of experience and rigorous studies to master . 3. Stop worrying about Nairaland for now. Focus on maintaining your legal status . Nairaland is a bag of Visas Knowledge which boasts of seasoned and well-experienced experts . Best Wishes ๐ 4 Likes |

PrimeTEA: Hey ๐ค 1. Human beings have the natural inclination of boasting of their achievements . Even Apostle Paul ( Acts 21; 39) , and our Lord Jesus Christ (Rev 22:16) elaborated on their personalities. 2. If a consular officer asked you " How old are you ? * And you Answered " I was born in Canada in 1976, therefore, i am 48 yrs old ma. 3. In the above scenario. you answered the consular's question but you elaborated by letting her to know that you were born in Canada. ** This is acceptable. 4. If the consular had asked you thus " What town did you finish your high school ? And you answered ** I finished my high school in Oloibiri - Nigeria but i was born in Canada. ** This is unreasonable answer. 5. In summary. You can tell the consular your present or future achievements but it must be related to the question asked . Don't answer what is not related to the consular's question. That will give him or her the impression that you have memorized your answer . Best Wishes ๐ 3 Likes 1 Share |

sonofthunder: Hey ๐ค 1. @MrSeun. With due respect . Will you kindly look into the activities of @justwise, @gist9ja, @Debbieeeeeee, and @JohnZak . 2. Whenever @Debbieeeeeee or @gist9ja has any disagreement with you and you responded the next thing if for them to ask @justwise to block you. 3. They are acting absolutely as dictators on the USA student visa and B1/B2 sections . My sin to them is that i use to answer all the questions that i read , is that a sin ? 4. I am trying to figure how to take the person's behind the moniker @gist9ja and @Debieeeeee into legal tussles because of their defamation of character. 5. Iriabay: Hey ๐ค 1. Go with Msc in Maritime Transportation Management and Logistics. Economics & Geography. Marketing & Supply Chain Management, etc. If there is MBA (STEM) in your area of specialisation you can also opt for it . 2. Don't go for PhD except if your initial academic standings can give you average fundings. Fundings is very very important for PhD students . 2. In all, don't forget to align everything to your present working place (except for Phd) where you have been for the past 14 years . Best Wishes ๐ |

babyfaiz: Hey ๐ค ** @babyfaiz 1. He dare not answer the question . You want him to come and tell us that a Nigerian who got 5 years for B1/B2 (as adjudicated for all Nigerians) in Abuja or Lagos embassy will now go to India and get 10 years B1/B2 (as adjudicated for Indians) ? 2. F1, B1/B2 , H-1B , K1 etc which applies to a Nigerian in Abuja or Lagos will also applies to him or her if he or she travels to Canada , Australia , Cotonou, Ghana , etc . 3. @babyfaiz. If we get 5 years in Nigeria, then you as a Nigerian in the UK will get same 5 years . Your friend who is a Nigerian and living in Japan will get same 5 years . Their hands soft for London na because you followed the visa rules or probably God just answered your prayers . Best Wishes ๐ 1 Like 1 Share |

Danieljobb: Hey ๐ค * A2A * 1. Your chances can be 100% if you are genuine with your academic sojourn and if you know how to align your application process reasonably . 2. In the USA , Community colleges are often a good place for older students to start, as they allow the student to brush up on skills they may have forgotten or that they were not focused enough in high school to learn. 2. They also tend to provide a less stressful and pressured environment, and are more likely to be supportive of a person returning to academic life after a long absence. Most are also much less expensive than USA four-year colleges and universities. 3. Ipso facto, if you are working in an organisation and needed a short advanced management or work-place improvement skills, you can opt for associate degree (AA, AS, AAS) . If you are from age 30 to 50 with your own personal business or you just needed to bag a degree as a life time achievement, you can opt for an associate degree. ** AA = Associate of Arts. ** AS = Associate of Science. ** AAS = Associate of Applied Science. 4. If you have a career plan and reason to return to your country after graduation as well as the finances to pay your expenses without expecting someone else to pay, or getting a job in the USA then , why not ? Your visa would be approved . I have done this for many F1 applicants in the past. My first was Cabrillo College in Aptos, California. *** Many Universities in the USA also offers Associate degrees. Best Wishes ๐ |

moyosoreakintol: Hey ๐ค 1. You seem to be on a lone journey and just seeking some positive push. 2. Nothing is impossible (with God). If you have the 1000$ go ahead and pay it but be certain that the University is well accredited . 3. Use your family funds . Don't use loan . Best Wishes ๐ 1 Like |

moyosoreakintol: Hey ๐ค 1. I won't advice you to pay the 1000$ even if you are applying to Stanford University. The 90k scholarship on MBA is a ploy because the 1000$ is not refundable if F1 is denied . 2. You even planned to cover your 56k deficit via loan . 3. Why MBA in the first place ? Is your employer sending you over or you have a fast growing business with growing staffs ? Is your MBA STEM related because MBA is now moving away from the commonplace MBA which you can even bag in UniLaG, Lagos Business School , OAU etc. 4. Move away from MBA if you don't meet up with any of the above outlines. Someone going for Msc Economics in the USA can as well do the Msc at Covenant University or University of Cape Town. There must be genuine and unique reasons for wanting to study abroad. 5. If you are fine with your MBA chose another University with STEM MBA and don't use loan to cover your deficit . Paying 1000$ as a spot deposit before I 20 is issued is not a new policy but i won't pay it on MBA admission. Best Wishes |

thumbsme: Hey ๐ค ** A2A ** 1. In that case let her apply with you as F2 (family) dependent with her Nigeria P . You will need to get a Form I 20 for her too and pay her MRV. If you don't know about F2 talk to your school (admission counselor) in the US that you have a daughter to bring along . 2. However, prepare her future by registering , rounding up and keeping her birth documentations. Naturally at age 10, a child born in the UK and having lived in the UK their whole life and not leaving more than 3 months a year can apply for citizenship. 3. Also if one of the parents is a British citizen or have indefinate leave to remain in the UK by the time the baby was born, then automatically she is a citizen by birth. She can always go back to the UK for her P. Best Wishes ๐ |

Blackfinegirl: Hey ๐ค *** Your question is kinda not clear but let me figure it out . 1. If your dad is stucked to Sept that means he has exhausted reschedule option slots and the only lifeline is for him to apply for an Emergency Appointment. 2. Alternatively, he has the option to cancel his present appointment from Lagos and chose Abuja. He should not cancel his present appointment IF HE HAS DONE SO B4. 3. Is your dad on IW too ? It's seems you are on IW but your dad is on normal appointment and you want your pick up to tally with his interview ? I am not too clear . Perhaps another experienced member can assist. thumbsme: Hey ๐ค 1. If you need to travel outside the UK your baby will require a passport (Nigeria P or UK P) or travel document and she will also need a dependant visa to re-enter the UK. 2. Why not cool down and get the British P for your daughter first ? Secure your daughter's future . Although she can still travel along with the Nigerian P and process her UK citizenship later but you can just sacrifice this year admission for her and use it to process her British P. Anything can happen . 3. However , if you are a Briton yourself you may take her along on F2 . She can always process her British P afterwards. Best Wishes ๐ |

Gentlesoul3268: Hey ๐ค 1. Your F1 visa faith is bright if you align your application reasons very well , and the procedure to apply for B2 visa is absolutely the same thing but the slight different is that you are already in North America. 2. The USA embassy will want to make sure that you are a genuine student in Canada who has done all registrations, have I'd cards , being attending classes since your Arrivals and perhaps evidence of tuition payments might be asked as well as confirmed housing. 3. Let's assume that you passed the above marks, don't you think that 4 months is too small to start leaving classes and junketing around in the USA in the name of tourism ? Have you even visited major Canada tourist sights like the Niagara Falls? Why not wait till like Xmas time or long holidays ? You can visit your course mates who are Americans by invitation . 4. If you have decided to make your move by all means, then why not talk to some course mates for group visits to a tourist sites in the USA ? You might also be able to do a "semester abroad " or exchange semester in the USA from your Canadian institution. Just try align your visiting towards your study. Cool down and strategize very well ok ? You are in Canada already, don't rush to the extent that the USA embassy in Canada would mark you down as a truant and intending immigrant. 4gunners: Hey ๐ค @4gunners. 1. I did not say it is the reason they are alive but the moment your educational passion demands for PhD (naturally) then such applicant has gone beyond reading/studying for success . ** By research , 75% of PhD Drop Outs who later become multimillionaires still regretted that they have failed in lives for not achieving the doctorate title . Let's stop here. 2. Although , Universities pay PhD students stipends and funds award directly , it is actually the professors in each department who sources for Research Grants and in the research proposals , the professor would list numbers of things he/she wanted to do with the grant awards , including the fundings and stipends of incoming PhD applicants who will work under him or her and submit a copy to the University and another copy to the organisation/ entity he or she is seeking the grants from . 3. Professors in each department actually determines the number of incoming PhD applicants because without Research Grants that is available , the University will not open admission to PhD students . Without Professors in a department or University, that University won't win any research grants . Best Wishes ๐ 1 Like |

alamercy: Hey ๐ค 1. Your last paragraph made me believe that you are a genuine PhD candidate. By years long research, 95% of PhD students are doing it for the natural love for education and all of them prefers the doctorate degree to any achievements of life. 2. The department you applied to does not (presently) have fundings for incoming PhD applicants, and perhaps , the few professors in that department could not or have not secured research grants. Hence, they don't want you on PhD for now. 3. If the above is not the case then you do not have the required qualifications to get into their PhD. ** If you are very certain of your academic qualifications, then don't accept the Msc offer. kes4glory: Hey ๐ค *** Back then (very few presently) I had lot of bankers as friends. 1. Your job with the tier 1 bank as well as your pregnant wife are your best ties if you had applied for B1 (job related conference, seminar or short training) visa. 2. They are your best ties if your present employer (the bank) is sending you to the USA for the Msc program . 3. You have laid a shaky (F1 visa) foundation already by not attaching your Msc to your present professional skill . You also have deviated from related work-place program which could have been a good excuse of returning home to take higher position or establishing your own financial entity. 4. Now that you does not want to mention your work-place in your visa application, i do hope you don't want to tell the consular officer that your parents /family are going to sponsor you (independent man with a pregnant wife) for your Msc ? ** Well if you have being working for let's say the past 7 years , you can reasonably use yourself as self-sponsor . 5. Anyways don't use that MPOWER LOAN. Funding is not absolutely compulsory for Msc if you can prove beyond doubt to the consular the availability of the whole Msc expenses. Also be ready to tell the VO why you are opting for this course of study ? What are your post study plans ? Best Wishes ๐ |

Acade: Hey ๐ค 1. Your F1 visa would be denied again even if you travel to Canada for another interview because USA visa policies and rules are usually teleguided. 2. They asked you 1+1 in Abuja, Nigeria you said 10. Then you find yourself in London. They asked you again 1+1 you said 10. No mathematics teacher (USA consular) will give you such mark until the years you know that 1+1 is =2. 3. Your solution is to narrate your visa transcripts to the general public so that you can receive corrective opinions . Therefore, you can go back to that embassy like an armed soldier and get your F1 visa. Best Wishes ๐ |

kaakaa: Hey ๐ค 1. Senior citizens like your parents does not really need to prove much ties because at their ages , they have been biologically adapted to their country of births ( habitats). 2. However, if they are both receiving federal or state retirements pensions , then that would have been a good " Loss of Income Ties . Or if your mum or dad is taking care of his or her handicapped sibling personally, that would have been another "Compassionate Family Tie. But USA consulars does not really go strong on tie proving for older applicants . 3. Their Medical (health) fitness and history is one of the major concerns of the consular offi ers . Are they physically, cognitively, and emotionally healthy enough to travel ? A letter from a reputable hospital accrediting their good healths might be okay. 4. Another important aspect is to teach them to be friendly with the CO and to let their words be the same . Aishat89: Hey ๐ค @Aishat89. ** Truft University, though a private institution in the USA is still very well respected , and therefore should keep to their policies (40% grant off tuition payment for your sister). *** And Yes, the $300 has to be paid first in order for the admissions office to take your sister serious and start the processing of her Form I-20. That's the norm. 1. Either they give your sister GTA or not , you must send your dad's financial capability evidence (bank statement) to Truft before they can issue her Form I 20. 2. Yes , she must go to her F1 visa interview with your dad's financial evidence (perhaps the original copy of the one she sent to Truft). Her tuition deficit will reflect in her Form I 20 and the CO (consular officer) will ask her how she want to offset it upon resumption. 3. Don't rush. Focus on securing her Form I 20 and the payment of SEVIS fee as well as the MRV (Visa fee payment @ GTB) first. Once those ones are settled , I bet she will secure a date for her interview prior to her August resumption. But you have to make everything snappy ! 4.
