Thank you so much for this detailed description however I couldnโ€™t change the passport #, i wasnโ€™t able to clear it.
I have updated her CGI with her new DS160 number and saved it

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. Email the embassy via the feedback option after login to Mama's cgi profile... telling them to update her new passport number . This is like awareness, they will reply within 2 days. If they respond positively , you will have to reprint the visa appointment letter again so that it will reflects the new passport number .

2. She can as well attend her interview with both old and new passports. The new passport is as good as the old one because it carries the old passport number as well. The new passport continues the work of the old passport .

Hi, my momโ€™s interview is next month and she just renewed her passport. I have updated the new passport number on DS160, how do I update it on the US travel doc profile? Also her MVR receipt has the old passport number. Please has anybody had this issue before.

Thank you

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. Login to her cgi profile and look out for update profile... click on it and the system will takes you to her bio-data page... look out for where DS 160 number and Passport number is written (old ones), clear it off and type your new DS 160 number and new passport number in the spaces ...stroll downward and click on save.

2. After 3 days . Log back to Mama's cgi profile and click on Appointment.... it will take you to download Appointment or email Appointment... choose anyone that fits you and print out a new visa appointment letter for Mama. ** The new visa appointment letter will carry the new ds 160 and the new passport numbers (automatic update completed).

3. Regarding the MRV. Mama is good to attend her interview with the new passport and the mrv payment receipt. You cannot edit or amend the MRV (except if GTB will re-issue a new one but i doubt the possibility). But the good news is that Mama's new passport will also carry her old passport number (which reflects on the mrv receipt ). ** Alternatively, she can attend the interview with both old and new Passports.

Hello everyone, I have an upcoming interview and I have a financial deficit. My sponsor's bank account currently has a balance that is slightly higher than the deficit. However, this amount is not his annual earnings, which are actually much higher than the balance. Now my question is, should I mention a figure that is above the amount in his account when singing the 'praises'๐Ÿ˜… about his annual earnings, or should I stick to his current balance to be on the safe side in case the V.O demands to see the statement?

Hey ๐Ÿค

@immunity04.

1. The modus operandi of USA embassies Bank statement verification is totally different to those of UK. Canada, Australia , and New Zealand.

2. If you like you can deposit the required money in the morning of your interview. If you have a billion in the account its none of their business. They only needs to verify the genuineness of the account, the originality of the funds as well as the current balance to cover or over cover your 1st year expenses.

3. Your only immunity to F1 visa denial is the genuineness of the bank statement and other facts as quoted above and keeping your mouth shut in the presence of the CO when necessary. Don't sing the praises the consular has not asked you to sing.

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to everyone who has contributed to my journey towards obtaining my U.S. visa. The knowledge I gained from various sources, including here, has been invaluable in preparing for my application.

Last November, I successfully completed my interview and was granted a B1/B2 visa. Today marks 60 days since I arrived in the United States, and I am incredibly thankful for this opportunity.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the moderators and individuals who generously share their knowledge, both at home in Nigeria and abroad. You are the true frontliners in our quest for information and support.

In light of my positive experience, I am eager to pay it forward by offering assistance and answering questions about the visa application process, from preparation to the interview stage. Feel free to reach out by quoting or replying me, and Iโ€™ll do my best to help!

Hey ๐Ÿค

@Ghideourn.

*** Congratulations, and i am personally receiving your appreciation in good heart.

1. But don't you think that 60 days arrival is too young to start focusing on getting back to nairaland ? Besides, i do hope you have found employment and working on changing status or are you going to over-stay your B1/B2 visa ?

2. Another point is that having a B1/B2 visa has not made you or qualified you as a certified USA visa processing expert. Can you answer or handle F1. H-1B, H2-A, H2-B, H1-C H-3, M1 and K1 visas procedures? USA has more than 30 visa types which need years of experience and rigorous studies to master .

3. Stop worrying about Nairaland for now. Focus on maintaining your legal status . Nairaland is a bag of Visas Knowledge which boasts of seasoned and well-experienced experts .

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. Human beings have the natural inclination of boasting of their achievements . Even Apostle Paul ( Acts 21; 39) , and our Lord Jesus Christ (Rev 22:16) elaborated on their personalities.

2. If a consular officer asked you " How old are you ? * And you Answered " I was born in Canada in 1976, therefore, i am 48 yrs old ma.

3. In the above scenario. you answered the consular's question but you elaborated by letting her to know that you were born in Canada. ** This is acceptable.

4. If the consular had asked you thus " What town did you finish your high school ? And you answered ** I finished my high school in Oloibiri - Nigeria but i was born in Canada. ** This is unreasonable answer.

5. In summary. You can tell the consular your present or future achievements but it must be related to the question asked . Don't answer what is not related to the consular's question. That will give him or her the impression that you have memorized your answer .

Good Morning my beautiful people of God!!
Please, I'm in a fix and need guidance from our experienced elder brothers and sisters here biko...I have a first degree in Industrial Physics second class upper and have been working for the past 14 years in the Logistics sector. Where I have since risen to the post of a shipping manager.

My fix is this, I wish to further my study in the USA and I don't know if I should pursue a PhD or msc in my subject area or MBA in my area of work experience... Honestly do not know which would fly with the VO, as I have no experience regarding this.

Please, help a bro in need๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. Go with Msc in Maritime Transportation Management and Logistics. Economics & Geography. Marketing & Supply Chain Management, etc. If there is MBA (STEM) in your area of specialisation you can also opt for it .

2. Don't go for PhD except if your initial academic standings can give you average fundings. Fundings is very very important for PhD students .

2. In all, don't forget to align everything to your present working place (except for Phd) where you have been for the past 14 years .

Please, Iโ€™ll like to find out if Nigerians who apply from the UK gets the same visa validity period like those who apply from Nigeria? Say, Nigerians get 5years for B1/B2, is it also 5years for Nigerians applying in the UK? I know some countries get 10 years but donโ€™t know if the validity will be tied to the applicant Country of origin. If 5 years, did it also start last year? This question is open to anyone who knows.

Hey ๐Ÿค

** @babyfaiz

1. He dare not answer the question . You want him to come and tell us that a Nigerian who got 5 years for B1/B2 (as adjudicated for all Nigerians) in Abuja or Lagos embassy will now go to India and get 10 years B1/B2 (as adjudicated for Indians) ?

2. F1, B1/B2 , H-1B , K1 etc which applies to a Nigerian in Abuja or Lagos will also applies to him or her if he or she travels to Canada , Australia , Cotonou, Ghana , etc .

3. @babyfaiz. If we get 5 years in Nigeria, then you as a Nigerian in the UK will get same 5 years . Your friend who is a Nigerian and living in Japan will get same 5 years . Their hands soft for London na because you followed the visa rules or probably God just answered your prayers .

Good day y'all, please I got a question what are the chances of getting a visa for an associate degree.. looking forward to your responses thanks ๐Ÿ™
Cc: OyotunjiUsa

Hey ๐Ÿค

* A2A *

1. Your chances can be 100% if you are genuine with your academic sojourn and if you know how to align your application process reasonably .

2. In the USA , Community colleges are often a good place for older students to start, as they allow the student to brush up on skills they may have forgotten or that they were not focused enough in high school to learn.

2. They also tend to provide a less stressful and pressured environment, and are more likely to be supportive of a person returning to academic life after a long absence. Most are also much less expensive than USA four-year colleges and universities.

3. Ipso facto, if you are working in an organisation and needed a short advanced management or work-place improvement skills, you can opt for associate degree (AA, AS, AAS) . If you are from age 30 to 50 with your own personal business or you just needed to bag a degree as a life time achievement, you can opt for an associate degree.

** AA = Associate of Arts.
** AS = Associate of Science.
** AAS = Associate of Applied Science.

4. If you have a career plan and reason to return to your country after graduation as well as the finances to pay your expenses without expecting someone else to pay, or getting a job in the USA then , why not ? Your visa would be approved . I have done this for many F1 applicants in the past. My first was Cabrillo College in Aptos, California.

*** Many Universities in the USA also offers Associate degrees.

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. You seem to be on a lone journey and just seeking some positive push.

2. Nothing is impossible (with God). If you have the 1000$ go ahead and pay it but be certain that the University is well accredited .

3. Use your family funds . Don't use loan .

Please I need some guidance and thoughts on the scenario below:
I got a full time mba admission in the USA with a 90k dollars scholarship. However my total cost of attendance is 146k dollars. So the deficit of the 56k would be covered via a loan though. I am expected to pay a non-refundable fee of 1000 dollars to secure my seat. Is it advisable to pay this amount or not? And please state your reasons. Also I cannot waive the fee and I need to pay this fee to get my I-20 to get the visa processing going.

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. I won't advice you to pay the 1000$ even if you are applying to Stanford University. The 90k scholarship on MBA is a ploy because the 1000$ is not refundable if F1 is denied .

2. You even planned to cover your 56k deficit via loan .

3. Why MBA in the first place ? Is your employer sending you over or you have a fast growing business with growing staffs ? Is your MBA STEM related because MBA is now moving away from the commonplace MBA which you can even bag in UniLaG, Lagos Business School , OAU etc.

4. Move away from MBA if you don't meet up with any of the above outlines. Someone going for Msc Economics in the USA can as well do the Msc at Covenant University or University of Cape Town. There must be genuine and unique reasons for wanting to study abroad.

5. If you are fine with your MBA chose another University with STEM MBA and don't use loan to cover your deficit . Paying 1000$ as a spot deposit before I 20 is issued is not a new policy but i won't pay it on MBA admission.

Of course, I have an important reason for wanting to relocate.
Now, I am not Nigerian, and she's got Nigerian Passport already,
however my concern is if she needs to be a dependant here to be eligible to apply for USA visa .
Can you shed more light please?

Hey ๐Ÿค

** A2A **

1. In that case let her apply with you as F2 (family) dependent with her Nigeria P . You will need to get a Form I 20 for her too and pay her MRV. If you don't know about F2 talk to your school (admission counselor) in the US that you have a daughter to bring along .

2. However, prepare her future by registering , rounding up and keeping her birth documentations. Naturally at age 10, a child born in the UK and having lived in the UK their whole life and not leaving more than 3 months a year can apply for citizenship.

3. Also if one of the parents is a British citizen or have indefinate leave to remain in the UK by the time the baby was born, then automatically she is a citizen by birth. She can always go back to the UK for her P.

1. If your dad is stucked to Sept that means he has exhausted reschedule option slots and the only lifeline is for him to apply for an Emergency Appointment.

2. Alternatively, he has the option to cancel his present appointment from Lagos and chose Abuja. He should not cancel his present appointment IF HE HAS DONE SO B4.

3. Is your dad on IW too ? It's seems you are on IW but your dad is on normal appointment and you want your pick up to tally with his interview ? I am not too clear . Perhaps another experienced member can assist.

Good morning everyone,
I need advice from experts in the house please.
I have a one-year old born here in the UK, and she has a Nigerian Passport.
But she only had UK birth certificate - No UK passport, Not on any Visa here.
Now I got an admission to study in the U.S and I have to enlist her in the application.
Now, here is my concern,
Can she use the Nigerian Passport to apply for US Visa without being on any status here?
Kindly enlighten pls

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. If you need to travel outside the UK your baby will require a passport (Nigeria P or UK P) or travel document and she will also need a dependant visa to re-enter the UK.

2. Why not cool down and get the British P for your daughter first ? Secure your daughter's future . Although she can still travel along with the Nigerian P and process her UK citizenship later but you can just sacrifice this year admission for her and use it to process her British P. Anything can happen .

3. However , if you are a Briton yourself you may take her along on F2 . She can always process her British P afterwards.

I need more insight as a student currently study in Canada wish to go to USA for tourism for just 10days.

Note: I arrived Canada 4 month ago

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. Your F1 visa faith is bright if you align your application reasons very well , and the procedure to apply for B2 visa is absolutely the same thing but the slight different is that you are already in North America.

2. The USA embassy will want to make sure that you are a genuine student in Canada who has done all registrations, have I'd cards , being attending classes since your Arrivals and perhaps evidence of tuition payments might be asked as well as confirmed housing.

3. Let's assume that you passed the above marks, don't you think that 4 months is too small to start leaving classes and junketing around in the USA in the name of tourism ? Have you even visited major Canada tourist sights like the Niagara Falls? Why not wait till like Xmas time or long holidays ? You can visit your course mates who are Americans by invitation .

4. If you have decided to make your move by all means, then why not talk to some course mates for group visits to a tourist sites in the USA ? You might also be able to do a "semester abroad " or exchange semester in the USA from your Canadian institution. Just try align your visiting towards your study. Cool down and strategize very well ok ? You are in Canada already, don't rush to the extent that the USA embassy in Canada would mark you down as a truant and intending immigrant.

Your first statement made me laugh grin You mean โ€œdoctorate degreeโ€ is the reason theyโ€™re alive.

Hey ๐Ÿค

@4gunners.

1. I did not say it is the reason they are alive but the moment your educational passion demands for PhD (naturally) then such applicant has gone beyond reading/studying for success . ** By research , 75% of PhD Drop Outs who later become multimillionaires still regretted that they have failed in lives for not achieving the doctorate title . Let's stop here.

2. Although , Universities pay PhD students stipends and funds award directly , it is actually the professors in each department who sources for Research Grants and in the research proposals , the professor would list numbers of things he/she wanted to do with the grant awards , including the fundings and stipends of incoming PhD applicants who will work under him or her and submit a copy to the University and another copy to the organisation/ entity he or she is seeking the grants from .

3. Professors in each department actually determines the number of incoming PhD applicants because without Research Grants that is available , the University will not open admission to PhD students . Without Professors in a department or University, that University won't win any research grants .

Hello House,

I need our advice please. I applied for a PhD in energy policy and I was given admission for Master degree In energy policy. I had already accepted the offer before I realized the admission given was for a master degree. Infact it was in the process of filling a form to request for the form I-20 I noticed that I had to fill the funding source or statement of account. It was then I checked the details of the admission offered to me.

I wrote the graduate school and they told me I should contact my department. I contacted the department they told me they worked based on what they sent to them from the graduate school. I am at a cross road now and I donโ€™t even know what to do again.

I am planning to write and inform them that I am no longer interested in the admission given to me since they refused to offer the PhD in energy policy I initially applied to.

I need your advice please.

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. Your last paragraph made me believe that you are a genuine PhD candidate. By years long research, 95% of PhD students are doing it for the natural love for education and all of them prefers the doctorate degree to any achievements of life.

2. The department you applied to does not (presently) have fundings for incoming PhD applicants, and perhaps , the few professors in that department could not or have not secured research grants. Hence, they don't want you on PhD for now.

3. If the above is not the case then you do not have the required qualifications to get into their PhD. ** If you are very certain of your academic qualifications, then don't accept the Msc offer. Look out for other Public Reaearch Universities .

in a case of no funding should I make use of MPOWER support letter ?
2. does using my sponsor proof of fund increase my chances of visa approval?
3 I currently work with a tier 1 bank as a full staff but do not want to fill it on my visa application as the course I applied for is unrelated to my current job, what should I do?
4. I am currently married with a pregnant wife and I intend leaving her , does this suggest strong home ties?
5. What are my chances of securing a Visa Approval without funding from UF?

NB: The offer is for MSC and the opportunity for GA is only certain after enrollment.

I will be grateful for a feedback from you guys.

Thanks

Hey ๐Ÿค

*** Back then (very few presently) I had lot of bankers as friends.

1. Your job with the tier 1 bank as well as your pregnant wife are your best ties if you had applied for B1 (job related conference, seminar or short training) visa.

2. They are your best ties if your present employer (the bank) is sending you to the USA for the Msc program .

3. You have laid a shaky (F1 visa) foundation already by not attaching your Msc to your present professional skill . You also have deviated from related work-place program which could have been a good excuse of returning home to take higher position or establishing your own financial entity.

4. Now that you does not want to mention your work-place in your visa application, i do hope you don't want to tell the consular officer that your parents /family are going to sponsor you (independent man with a pregnant wife) for your Msc ? ** Well if you have being working for let's say the past 7 years , you can reasonably use yourself as self-sponsor .

5. Anyways don't use that MPOWER LOAN. Funding is not absolutely compulsory for Msc if you can prove beyond doubt to the consular the availability of the whole Msc expenses. Also be ready to tell the VO why you are opting for this course of study ? What are your post study plans ?

What advice would you offer to someone who was previously denied a USA visa in March due to insufficient evidence of home ties? Since there is currently a lack of interview dates available, the individual is contemplating attending the interview in another African country. The reason for this decision is that school is scheduled to resume in June.

If you were to suggest an African country, which one would you recommend?

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. Your F1 visa would be denied again even if you travel to Canada for another interview because USA visa policies and rules are usually teleguided.

2. They asked you 1+1 in Abuja, Nigeria you said 10. Then you find yourself in London. They asked you again 1+1 you said 10. No mathematics teacher (USA consular) will give you such mark until the years you know that 1+1 is =2.

3. Your solution is to narrate your visa transcripts to the general public so that you can receive corrective opinions . Therefore, you can go back to that embassy like an armed soldier and get your F1 visa.

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. Senior citizens like your parents does not really need to prove much ties because at their ages , they have been biologically adapted to their country of births ( habitats).

2. However, if they are both receiving federal or state retirements pensions , then that would have been a good " Loss of Income Ties . Or if your mum or dad is taking care of his or her handicapped sibling personally, that would have been another "Compassionate Family Tie. But USA consulars does not really go strong on tie proving for older applicants .

3. Their Medical (health) fitness and history is one of the major concerns of the consular offi ers . Are they physically, cognitively, and emotionally healthy enough to travel ? A letter from a reputable hospital accrediting their good healths might be okay.

4. Another important aspect is to teach them to be friendly with the CO and to let their words be the same . Our parents are demanding at times and they may yell at the consular that these visas is our rights .

@OyoTunjiUSA,

Thanks for your response.

My profile here it's my job, I the main applicant and my husband dependant. Children in Nigeria schooling not able to come with them and was told by UKVI that they can apply on their own for visiting if they wish because they are not eligible as being above 18yrs. I just clocked 1yr recently. I am entitled to leave from work. So does it mean I have to wait for 3yrs before I can apply for vacation to the US that's strange.
Have had quite a good travel history before I finally came to the UK. I have come on 6months, 2yrs visiting on vacation to the UK before I finally got this job. I have been to Dubai twice on vacation , Ghana vacation all the while i was in Nigeria, and I returned as at when stated.

I still believe that there are some people that has not stayed up to 3yrs and still got the visa.

However, like they said one of the most important thing is the information filled in your DS-160 form.

That's why I am asking for tips and guidance, probably i am not doing it rightly as expected.

Because for all my travels before now has been from the right information gathered from the Nairaland UK visiting Visa justwise, UK Skilled worker, all the suggestions and contributions I gathered when applied paved way for me.

So I am here for guidance, I don't think I have to be 3yrs before I can apply.

The last refusal I got was that I told them am going on a vacation for 14 days, and I will visiting some tourists attractions like the statue of Liberty, etc and few shopping.

Please let the suggestions and contributions come in, as open to learn

Thanks a lot

Hey ๐Ÿค

*** A2A **

1. If your questions is thrown to some set of people on Nairaland pls follow their opinions . I am a member of Nairaland and entitle to make opinions on questions that is thrown to the public. Or did you read in my suggestions that " You Must Follow What i Say ?

2. You are entitled to your leave but you are not entitled to USA visa until you follow procedures and you, having traveled all over the world is not a criterion in determining your USA visa, gone are those days when the USA embassy are tricked with such gimmicks.

3. Since you know that the most important thing is the filling of the DS 160 Form then what are you waiting for ? Go ahead and fill it and go get your visa.

The bank statement must cover the total cost that is due to you otherwise they are not likely to issue the I20.

Hey ๐Ÿค

@OgaJohn.

1. I thought you said someone can get I 20 without sending financial evidences to schools ? It's a shame you are swallowing your words . You with @Debieeeeee the Devil are old schools with outdated USA visa policies knowledges. Go back to my posts and learn.

2. Yes you are right . I have been banned several times from Nairaland because of @Debieeeeee, and you and others of your clicks as well as your conspiracies. You guys are dictators who does not want positive competitions that will bring growth to Nairaland .

3. Common. It is high time Nairaland started recording 75% visa success transcripts in a year . You have all failed Nairaland. You need new ideas.

@DeviLLLLLLLLL !

*** Quoting you above

Dear Johnzak, reading from you is always a breathe of fresh air please never stop giving your opinions on certain issues. Thank you.

1. But you don't want me to respond to every question.

2. Can you please tell Nigerians openly if Nairaland belongs to you and your gangs ? Is Nairaland now a private forum ? Or do you have a major share on NL ?

3. When @Zihno corrected your Johnsack about the payment of spot deposit in USA institutions he quickly swallowed his words below ..........

** JOHNSACK I do not doubt that some schools ask incoming students to make a non-refundable tuition deposit. This is typically done to confirm enrollments.

4. John actually came in order to capitalise on the typo error and use the opportunity to rubbish my opinion (as your norms) but he has forgotten that typo error is allow in all organisations of the world. If not for privacy reasons, i would have shown you few old I 20s from TU here.

1. Can you just see that you are the real devil on Nairaland ? Must you shove yourself into my comments? Are you the John Zak or why not allow your John to respond ?

2. Paying $300 as a spot deposit or sending bank statement to USA institutions before Form I 20 is issued is contrary? Or you guys just don't want to read my opinions again as a result of hatred.

3. You @Debieeeeee with John are lack of further ideas . Your bridges are lonely. Go home stop misleading visa applicants into failures . Mention 5 applicants openly from your group who are successful with their visas in this year 2024 .

4. I know your click will soon be coming out now with fake USA visas and working permits. Whenever you guys are reading my opinions go and pick pen and paper to learn . Old cargoes .

Thank you very much for the explicit explanation...the uni's name isn't Truft but TUFTS UNIVERSITY the mistake was from me. I am surprised ๐Ÿ˜ฏ to hear that some schools do no request for financial statements before I -20 can be issued. Regardless we just have to start building the account that will be needed. I appreciate everyone ones response and I don glue my chair here for more beta info. To everyone seeking for divine intervention, favour and success in his/her pursuit, May it come soonest than later, stay and be permanent AMEEN. Thank you all once again.

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. Henceforth don't disturb yourself about over-wise opinions . You made a typo error which i followed suit. Every reasonable person should even Google for him or her to know that you meant Tufts .

2. The Wole Soyinka and Chinua Achebe of Nairaland even disputed the payment of spot deposit (tuition deposit in UK and Canada) prior to the issuance of Form I 20. Thanks to @Zihno who quickly shut his mouth up.

3. Go ahead with your preparations my dear. If Havard University denied you admission to study Msc Economics but ORU (Oral Roberts University) offered you same admission with the condition to pay spot deposit of even $1000 prior to the issuance of Form I 20 won't you accept to pay if you have the money ?

4. 75% of USA higher institutions will ask you to send financial statement before they issue Form I 20. That is their agreement with the USA government (to verify that foreign students have enough money for their educational expenses upon arrival). Many schools have been suspended or shut down indefinitely for not following this rule.

Hello Gurus in the house.

Please I need guidance on visiting the US for a vacation..

2022 while I was in Nigeria tourists visa for vacation was denied.

Currently, I am in the UK as a skilled worker, I want to visit the US for a vacation, what and what do I need.
Do I still go on a tourist visit on vacation or conference, if it's conference, then what conferences will relate to my kind of job as a skilled worker for Health Care Assistant/Support worker.
So I don't really know what the US embassy wants.

Please your suggestion and opinions will count. Thanks

Hey ๐Ÿค

@Christabeliciou.

*** USA embassy in the UK is not soft and neither is she soft in Canada and anywhere in the world . USA embassy in Nigeria has the same mathematical rules and policies with those of UK, China, Cotonou, and others .

**** What worked for Mr A might go against Mr B because your profiles and careers are different. Don't allow sweet mouth to take away your sense of responsibilities and preparations.

1. Take it or leave it. If you just landed in the UK as a skilled worker (not up to at least 3 years ) your visa might be denied again.. ** Unless if your employer in the UK is sending you to the USA on business seminars, conference or short trainings.

2. Even as you are working in the UK, if you do not have any other tie (wife, husband, kids ) other than your job , then your visa success is even dim because lots and lots of professional workers from ExxonMobil, Banks, Toyota, MTN, NNPC etc with top salaries have absconded their jobs to the USA.

3. Check your profile and seek further opinions before you proceed. USA visa is not a piece of cake they share to you all because you are In the UK, Canada , Australia or anywhere. You have to follow and pass their visa policies and rules .

Good evening everyone, hope our day has been good? I will really appreciate guidance regarding the present admission stage (co-asking) for my sister who got admission to study a Maters program at Truft Uni. (August is the expected resumption) With a 40% grant off the tuition payment. And has 2wks to pay a non refundable deposit of $300
*Currently $300 is under process of being paid.
*Already sent mail to the sch. to confirm the actual amount expected to be paid for the program of study after the deduction of the 40% grant so that her I-20 can be received.
*Also, written and mailed admission and departmental head for more scholarship option /GTA to offset the remaining deficits. (*Just in; response from school States she has to pay the $300 first to get any info regarding GTA/TA as these options has a limited space... Biko is this normal ๐Ÿค”? )
My questions are;
1. God forbid, para venture no scholarship or GTA is given as requested, when should we start building her/ sponsor's (Father) account?
2. Will she need to prove the financial statement she will be going with to the embassy during her interview and can she go with the sponsor (father) on her interview day?
3. Can she start looking for appointment date now? Even though
I-20 is yet to be received.
4. What are the requirements needed to get an appointment date for interview as an F1 student.
Thank you all for your time as I look forward to getting your feedbacks.

Hey ๐Ÿค

@Aishat89.

** Truft University, though a private institution in the USA is still very well respected , and therefore should keep to their policies (40% grant off tuition payment for your sister).

*** And Yes, the $300 has to be paid first in order for the admissions office to take your sister serious and start the processing of her Form I-20. That's the norm.

1. Either they give your sister GTA or not , you must send your dad's financial capability evidence (bank statement) to Truft before they can issue her Form I 20.

2. Yes , she must go to her F1 visa interview with your dad's financial evidence (perhaps the original copy of the one she sent to Truft). Her tuition deficit will reflect in her Form I 20 and the CO (consular officer) will ask her how she want to offset it upon resumption.

3. Don't rush. Focus on securing her Form I 20 and the payment of SEVIS fee as well as the MRV (Visa fee payment @ GTB) first. Once those ones are settled , I bet she will secure a date for her interview prior to her August resumption. But you have to make everything snappy !

4. The requirements for her to get a normal or emergency F1 visa appointment date is to ; Secure Form I 20, Pay MRV and SEVIS fee.

Please how do one get an emergency appointment for visa for a relatives funeral in the US?

Hey ๐Ÿค

1. The undertaker (funeral director) from the USA must write a personal invitation letter to you. He or she must state (in the letter ) the contact information and other details of the deceased as well as the date (s) of the funeral.

2. You must also present evidence (s) that the deceased is your immediate relative.

3. You will use your invitation letter from the USA undertaker to apply for Emergency Appointment . If you do it accordinly, you should be approved under Medical Emergency.
