flavann: Hey π€ 1. Your situation seems to be dancing towards my music . The first consular officer who interviewed you probably omitted (forgot or overlooked) a vital information (s) , and upon passing to the final vetting (b4 visa issuance) the missing info was discovered. 2. Just like i wrote previously, you are in for another verbal bombardments (on that particular missing or omitted information) but this time from a Senior or more Experienced consular officer . 3. Pray for good luck and go back to your DS 160 as well as the review of the previous questions asked by the 1st CO. Detecting the omitted or missing information (s) yourself and how to present the answers will certainly springboard your visa success. Best Wishes π |

wyzdomania: Hey π€ * A2A * ** Thank you for the pat on the back. All glory belongs to God. 1. In my personal (not offiicial data) experiences , Lagos has more population of visa applicants than Abuja, therefore securing visa appointment dates (Abuja) might be a little easier than Lagos. 2. In terms of Visa Issuances for both location , i won't state my personal preference here in order to avoid unhealthy debates or rivalry jostles. But the truth is that if you say 1+1 equals = 10 in Abuja and come to Lagos and claim same , then such person will keep failing in all USA embassy locations until he or she got the real answer which is (= 2). 3. Your 2nd question is dicey and incomplete . I don't know your academic pursuit (PhD/Msc/Bsc), i don't know your profiles , work histories, visa application histories, etc. But you don't have to write all those in the open . If i have a clue of the aforementioned info then i can guide you according to my personal experiences and private research. 4. Until then, you may go back to the beginning of this thread and comb the pages for related questions and answers. Best Wishes π |

Preshy2004: Hey π€ 1. Those schools you applied to will never respond positively to you because you have not even submitted 45% of the graduate admissions requirements. 2. Even the conditional offer letter you are seeking won't be granted to you until they receive your unofficial transcripts which is not even available to you right now . 3. You do not actually need your certificate to apply but the most important of your academic documents which the USA schools are waiting for is your transcripts which won't be available to you until after graduation . 4. You won't be deported from the UK if you do not entangle yourself in trouble and USA is not running away. Therefore , cool down till after graduation and process Spring 2025 admissions with complete credentials . 5. Eventhough you have to come back to Nigeria after graduation, you have already achieved the feat of graduating from a UK institution which will make the USA embassy trust your post graduation story. 6. Attempting to obtain your credentials from your present school in the UK prematurely may result in incomplete or inaccurate cgpa gradings . 7. You have a cool international academic profile already (after graduation). Don't ruin your USA F1 visa opportunity with conditional admission. Don't settle for less. Best Wishes π 1 Like |

flavann: Hey π€ 1. In that case you may not get the 221g slip again because It seems your follow up interview is a verbal aptitude oriented. 2. Email (via feedback option) or call the CGI for better clarification if additional or missing documents are needed. But i don't think they need you to come along with any supporting documents otherwise they would have stated it. 3. In this respect , flash back to your DS 160 data base and master off hand what you have written therein. Best Wishes π |

flavann: Hey π€ 1. Your visa was not approved but the consular officer approved the passing on to the next step (USCIS) of your Travel Passport for cross checking acurate data-information b4 the final approval . 2. If the consular did congratulated you after your interview on that 1st day, then he/she actually did that via human error (fatigue or hastiness) and forgot to hand you the 221g slip. 3. Well , its still a hopeful situation since your passport was retained because the consular officer anticipates your visa will be granted but something is preventing the CO from making the final decision. 4. The 221g is self-explanatory. Follow what is written there and you should know what do to. Your visa is however hanging half-way at this state , nobody , not even the 1st consular who interviewed you can now determined the outcome. But be positive . Best Wishes π |

ogeoflyf: Hey π€ 1. Those list of schools provided by @Zihno actually answered your question in terms of best MBA programs in the world but i can see that you are kinda not satisfied. ** Fine , you have indicated that you doesn't want Ivy league schools but the new MBA trends is now moving towards those schools (Ivy league). 2. MBA is now being pushed into the same ladder with Mass Communication (where you can master it at home via the internet , do distance/correspondence study or get the required knowledge from too many available institutions). ** I can give you more than 30 list of names of internationally recognised business moguls (from Nigeria to the rest of the world) who did not have formal or advanced or business related education not until they become multimillionaires and high-flyings in their businesses. 3. Hence , USA (and the rest of the world) is now moving away from the commonplace MBA into STEM-MBA . The commonplace MBA certificate is now being treated as a constant guest except it is gotten from a premium institute (like those listed by @Zihno). 4. Google search Public Research Universities in USA. Pick the schools one by one and email their graduate business schools for your MBA enquiry. USA have more than 5,000 Universities. They would be glad to guide you all through application process and requirements. No matter the school you pick, GO WITH STEM-MBA Best Wishes π 2 Likes |

UdumaXYZ: Hey π€ 1. Let's give unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar. Tell your wife that the consular usually sees dependents (spouse, kids, families) as a kind of distraction for PhD students and that PhD F1 visa is not automatic or guaranteed even if you have broken the Guinness Book of Records on your scholarships. 2. I assume your wife is a very honest person but would it not be reasonable to let the consular knows that she has her own responsibilities back home ? Is it not sounding well if she tells the consular that she just wanted to go and prepare with you and come back home in order to let you concentrate with your study ? 3. Despite the fact that she may not return back home according to her mindset, wisdom is still profitable to direction . Let her gives the consular the impression that she wants to be visiting you once or twice in a year. 4. The love of your life (your wife) is top-of your best ties back home in Nigeria but you re ready to travel with her . Becareful . Best Wishes π 2 Likes |

Ellskc: Hey π€ 1. Yes if the company has the financial capability. Its even one of the best home-ties . 2. To prove it, you will state your company as your sponsor and this should reflects in your Form I -20 and your DS 160 data input . You also must attend your interview by going along with your company financial statement and especially Employment Bond Agreement . Best Wishes π |

Phayn: Hey π€ 1. It is illegal to start toying with financial (bank) statement in a public place , but a good samaritan may show you a sponsor's letter or scholarship award letter . 2. Financial or Bank statement which institutions in the USA and most embassies requires is the same as your monthly bank statement. The difference is the total amount and the type of account (ie salary, domiciliary, company, fixed deposit etc) the financial statement originated from. 3. Aside of giving you administrative or petty cash, the major help your sponsor will do for you is to release his or her bank statement to the school you are applying to in the USA before the sch can issue your Form I 20 ( USA institutions admission pack). After that, your sponsor will give you same copy of the bank statement to take to the USA embassy on the day of your F1 (USA student visa) interview . The bank statement we are talking about should have at least NGN, 65.M (Bsc/Msc). 4. Your sponsor may as well write out a scholarship award letter to you in lieu of bank statements if they are larger organization like RCCG, WINNERS , AHMADIYYA, MTN nigeria , NNPC, etc. ** Best Wishes π 1 Like |

This is a suspicious activity and you did it deliberately so that your people will start looking for avenue to attack me . 3. I have never created any group on or outside nairaland and i will never do it . I don't have any WhatsApp, Facebook, or social media's group in whatever form. I am a voluntary opinion giver. 4. Ellskc: Hey π€ 1. It's like you are telling the consular that your next of kin is your best friend because you are single. The next question from anyone would be don't you have family ? 2. If your friend is a popular or well known personality like Dangote , Alakija, Ejindu, Okoli etc you can use him or her. But tactically , it's still not too reasonable . 3. Your friend can liase with your sister and give out his or her own financial quotas to your sister while your sister still remain your sole sponsor . Blood is ticker than water . Tell your friend that embassy usually doubts the authenticity of non related individuals spending millions of naira on your overseas education without any financial or future gain. Best Wishes π |

agboifo: Hey π€ 1. You are not wrong and i am not wrong. The OP wrote that the visa form (DS -160) was filled with the correct passport number , the MRV (Visa fee payment receipt) also carries same correct passport number , thereby an error in the CGI profile passport number will not count (too) much as its being exaggerated. 2. The moment you created CGI profile and submitted DS 160 , the USA embassy will start following your DS 160 data base. They knows you can do mistake , hence they use ONLY your DS 160 information and your physical passport to create your visa and database. 3. Disregard other noises. You and i have related the directive to the OP. He can call , he can send message via feedback . If both options did not work or the embassy does not respond , he will still submit his application successfully without issue. The embassy will naturally follow DS 160 and MRV (Physical Travel P) info. Best Wishes π 1 Like |

I have never derailed from the USA F1 & B1/B2 sections on Nairaland . 2. Do same to @Danburuwa ' s profile . You will confirmed that he is coming from politics and all his posts there is about hatred , causing animosity and disrespecting Nigerian leaders. They recruited him to come and post such allegation because they cannot use their own monikers. 3. Please , beg @Danburuwa to rephrase your mock interview for you , i am sure he did not even know what DS 160 is. For your own sake stop responding to him . fcisca: Hey π€ 1. It's not a costly or grave error . Typo-error is acceptable and understandable in all organizations of the world . 2. Don't rush to call the embassy. Naturally your visa application is being processed and tracked via your (elderly colleague) DS -160 which your colleague filled correctly . His MRV is also in tandem with his passport number . 3. Just email the embassy via the Feedback Option on his CGI portal . He should go ahead and submit , they will accept his application and the mistake won't count on his visa outcome. thinkinghead: Hey π€ ** How did she book her F2 appointment without her own copy of the I 20 initially ? 1. Anyways , you have to request for Dependent I-20 officially from your host-institution and there are some forms and financial evidences you have to submit to your USA institution in that regards, and if successful your I 20s can be processed within 5 business days. 2. You will be issued an amended Form I-20 to reflect the total number of dependent (s) joining you in the USA. 3. The amended Form I -20 will become your valid I-20, and should be attached on top of your old I-20. 4. Additionally, an I-20 will be issued for your wife to apply for an F-2 visa in order to join you in the USA. 5. She will pay MRV, fill DS 160 and attend F1 interview . Best Wishes π 1 Like |

MiraJay12: Hey π€ 1. Let's assume that your secondary school principal ask you thus ; Come for your WAEC certificate next year but you must wear our school uniform when coming ? Even if you have discarded your old high sch uniform , you can as well go and get a new one just for the sake of your certificate. 2. Now , you are on Nairaland like ; Pls teach me what lies can i tell my school principal because i cannot get the school uniform π . 3. Naturally, a USA consular will not ask an undergraduate F1 applicant to go and get scholarship next time , what he or she is concerned about is how your sponsor is going to cover your 1st year tuition and living expenses , how sound or outstanding student you are , your exact reasons of choosing your program of study and why did you choose USA, as well as how you are going to prove tie of returning back to your families . 4. USA Colleges and Universities are not selling scholarships and it's not a birth-right of any international applicant, therefore a CO will not enforce you to get scholarships or fundings (except in a rare case Msc , but PhD especially) or based your Bsc F1 visa on getting scholarship. 5. If your dad can prove the availability of the $31k and you passes other consular questions, then why not ? Your F1 visa should be approved. Best Wishes π |

Knowledgeispowe: Hey π€ 1. Many International Graduate Students ( not UK citizens because UK citizens can visit USA on ESTA for 90 days) like you in the UK have successfully tricked the USA consulars (in the past) that they just wanted to go and enjoy just two weeks vacation in the USA and never returned back to their studies . 2. By this very fact, the only vacation or visits that will sound reasonable to the new-era USA consulars in the UK is the one that is related to your present studies in the UK. ** Any other reason aside this is a gamble because your only tie to the UK is your Msc education . PhD would have carried higher reputation. 3. *** Go and pay the MRV (visa fee) for B2. *** Create CGI Profile & Fill DS 160 form **** Provide USA accomodation evidence. **** Present your UK school identifications, evidence of school fees payment , evidence of housing, and perhaps a letter from your HOD assenting to your short visit and return on your present school letter headed sheet to the USA consular when attending your visa interview. If you are single and never married and below age 30.. your uncle can still stand as your sponsor , therefore, you will have to transfer the 4k into your uncle's account and use your uncle as your sponsor. 3. Your American friend who is affiliated to your company and whose property or facility will stand for you in accomodation evidence is also good. 3.
