South-West to get Chairmanship slot

ABUJA— STRONG ndications have emerged that Peoples Democratic Party,
PDP, will at its May 21 national convention slated to hold in Port Harcourt,
the Rivers State capital, move and approve a two-year tenure for the
incumbent National Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.
A source told Vanguard , yesterday, that besides the National Chairman, other
members of the National Working Committee, NWC, some of who came on
board in 2012 with former National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, would
be replaced.
It would be recalled that aside from the Deputy National Chairman, Prince
Uche Secondus, who took over from Sam Sam Jaja, the National Secretary,
Adewale Oladipo, who took over after Prince Olugunsoye Oyinlola was
removed and the National Auditor, Adewale Adeyanju who replaced Bode
Mustapha as the National Auditor, others came with Tukur.
According to the source, it became imperative to give a two-year term to the
former Borno State governor because the governors would want him to
continue because he has been running the party with his money as national
chairman and that getting a replacement for him at this period of the life of
the party will be difficult.
The source said the governors wanted their own to continue, since Sheriff
belonged to that category as former governor of Borno State.
Vanguard also gathered that at the National Convention, PDP members
would approve the zoning of position of national chairman to the South-West
at the expiration of Sheriff’s two years in office.
It was also gathered that PDP will ratify the position of NWC, and National
Executive Committee, NEC, which zoned the 2019 presidential ticket to the
North, even as the source said that the moves by the party was to carry
everyone and every zone along.

Every foreign visit is calculated to bring direct benefits to Nigeria and Nigerians in general so it's very pointless and brainless to say he needs to focus on local issues instead of foreign issues especially when in fact whatever deals he strikes out there or whatever investments he managed to direct to Nigeria or even whatever billions of stolen dollars he negotiated to be returned to Nigerians benefit Nigerians locally.

During this visit alone, he secured over $600 million worth of investments for Nigeria, so who exactly is this money going to benefit either via jobs, power, education, roads, bridges and so on? Nigerians of curses.

Who is the agreement that lifted EU ban on our beans going to benefit? Nigerians in Nigeria and our local farmers.

Who is the agreement signed in Dubai to return stolen funds going to benefit? Nigerians in Nigeria or the people of Dubai?

Every foreign visits or summit is calculated to get many things done on the sidelines, for example, the president went to the summit in the US, but the $600 million he secured was not part of the summit, it was arranged on the sidelines.

The agreement to help Nigeria locate and return stolen billions to Nigeria was struck on the summit sidelines. These summits and meetings are always designed to many other things on behalf of the visiting countries. If we have deals to negotiate with heads of multiple countries, the countries involved arrange to meet at these events to negotiate their deals instead of traveling to each country.

This is common sense, but we have brainless people like bruce who instead of peddling common sense ends up spewing garbage and ignorance about his own country.

The same bruce was part of the same footing and sharing 16 year old government that looted and shared our money while the same bruce had no common sense to peddle and was silent while his gang wrecked Nigeria.

If PDP was in power today, we won't here his voice or any of his common sense nonsense...

The last administration did not dent the image of the country. This is a lie. Im not a supporter of GEJ or PDP but he didnt have any adverse relationship wt any other country. They were trying to support him against boko haram just as theyre trying to support buhari. The relationship has not changed AT ALL.

This is in contrast to when OBJ was touring the world in his 1st year as president. In dt situation we had over 20yrs of military rule, economic sanctions against us, and an exceptional madman (abacha) dt had cut ties wt the rest of the world dt our only friend was qaddaffi. That is what u would have called travelling to repair a dented image. Not this. And we got a free economy, foreign direct investments and cleared debt because of it.

I havent seen what buhari has brought back. This $600m aid package john kerry was talking about, is an already existing aid package being administered by USAID every year in nigeria. Its not new. Read up on that press conference again.

I don't think you really know this Mr Aribisala or rather you might not have read some of his write up about Buhari. He sees everything wrong in Buhari and does not believe in anything done well by the Buhari administration. How could he say the fight against corruption is targeted towards the opposition. The question he should be asking is are these people guilty or not? If he says Buhari is disobeying court order, what is he saying about those who looted the state treasury absolutely nothing. We, Nigerians can be very gullible when it comes to handling politics and politicians generally but in every other aspects, we are brainy. Bro, You can't Portray a good image when you dont have one, Nigeria isnt Investor Friendly. I'd Advise Buhari to work on the Economy before looking for Investors who would probably end up loosing if they invested in the country. A lot of Investors are closing up shop in the Nation, Why not work on retaining the ones you have already than go seek for new Ones.

I am not comparing Buhari's administration with any administration of any kind. But let's be sincere there is a lot of rot before Buhari came in and I didn't expect him to perform magic so soon. Nigerians are not patient because they are not seeing the change they voted for but that does not mean we should not give this man the benefit of doubt.

I believe enjoyment come after hardship. People like you and I will have to wait a little bit if we really want this govt to succeed.
