Phones / Recommend A Good Phone For Me by Ozid(m): 12:58am On May 29, 2022
Dear Nairalander's, pls I need recommendations and advice on the kind of phone I need to buy. I have a budget of 60k and am thinking of phone brands like Redmi, Xiaomi, Huawei and Samsung.

Taking into consideration storage capacity, speed and picture quality of the phone. Suggestions and input on other phones such as Infinix and Tecno is highly welcomed
Thank you all as I await your responses.

Nairaland / General / How To Respect Yourself In 2022 by Ozid(m): 7:18am On Jan 03, 2022
Compliments of the Season to you all. Here are some things to do in 2022 if you don't want to be disrespected.

(1) Stop looking for who is not looking for you.
(2) Stop begging.
(3) Stop saying more than is necessary.
(4) When people disrespect you, confront them immediately.
(5) Don't eat other people's food more than they eat yours.
(6) Reduce how you visit some people, especially if they don't visit you as well
(7) Invest in yourself. Make yourself happy. Stop entertaining gossip about other people.
(9) Think before you talk. 80% of how people value you is because of what comes out of your mouth.
(10) Always look your best. Dress the way you should be addressed.
(11) Be an achiever. Get busy with your goals.
(12) Respect your time.
(13) Don't stay in a relationship where you don't feel respected and valued. Walk away.
(14) Learn to spend money on yourself. That's how people will learn to spend on you.
(15) Be scarce sometimes.
(16) Be a giver more than a receiver.
(17) Don't go where you are not invited. And when invited don't overstay your welcome.
(18) Treat people exactly the way they deserve.
(19) Except they owe you money, two call attempts is enough. If they value you they will call you back.
(20) Be good at what you do. Be the best.

I hope you learn from this, thanks.

Feel free to add yours!!!

Thank you so much sir for all the information you have been sharing on this platform about Npower. I asked you about me changing my state of residence then (Kogi) which I used for the registration of Npower to my current state of residence (Kwara) but you advised me to wait until after deployment before I can apply for redeployment. Now I have been deployed to Kogi which I have left. Pls my question is it possible for me to redeploy at this stage and how can I go about it? Thank you.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: STERLING or. JAIZ by Ozid(m): 6:33am On Aug 24, 2021
I will advise you choose JAIZ. Reasons been that: 1. JAIZ has more job security than Sterling because is a newly established bank.

2. In JAIZ, you have more opportunities to go for training and retraining to be better in your line of duty.

3. Contract staffs are converted to permanent staffs after 2 years. This is what most conventional banks don't do. NB: am not saying Sterling bank is part of them.

4. Finally, In JAIZ they have a favourable working environment unlike most other conventional bank.

Good luck as you pick your choice.

Pls how did you apply for the JAIZ bank role?

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: N-power Batch C: How To Fix Local Government Area Issues by Ozid(m): 6:50pm On Jul 11, 2021
ezenwaez:

If an N-Power Batch C applicants local government area does not match the N-Power Batch C applicant's residential address, the N-Power Batch C applicant should only edit the residential address to match the local government area, and ensure all utility bills and documents reflects the updated address.

At this stage it is extremely risky altering the local government area, your residential address can be edited but changing your local government area at this point is not advisable.
Do you mean I can now change my residential address to my current location now? I registered my npower in Kogi and I am currently in Kwara but my state of residence, local government and residential address all reads Kogi. Pls what do you advice I do because I don't want to relocate back to Kogi for my Npower...
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: N-power Batch C: How Often To Attend Your PPA by Ozid(m): 11:31am On Jul 03, 2021
ezenwaez:
A lot of N-Power Batch C applicants have been asking the question with regards to how many times an N-Power Batch C Volunteer is expected to be at his or her Place of Primary Assignment in a week or month.

The write up below answers this question, but I repeat all N-Power Batch C Volunteers must adopt this with great caution, due to the preying eyes of the N-Power independent monitors, because if the N-Power independent monitors comes to your place of primary assignment and find an N-Power Batch C applicant absent without any clear reasons, this might lead to forceful disengagement or exit of the N-Power Batch C Volunteer from the N-Power program.

If an N-Power Batch C Volunteer is posted to a primary school, the N-Power Batch C Volunteer have do be at his or her place of primary assignment daily, if an N-Power Batch C applicant is deployed to a secondary school the N-Power Batch C volunteer have to be at his or her place of primary assignment at least three times in a week, if an N-Power Batch C applicant is posted to an Agricultural Agency that is for N-Agro, the N-Power Batch C Volunteer have to be present at his or her place of primary assignment at least once a week and submit your report weekly.
Sir, is it possible to redeploy from one state to another after passing the physical verification?
Politics / Re: So What If Nnamdi Kanu Is Arrested? By Prof. Abdussamad Umar Jibia by Ozid(m): 11:13am On Jul 03, 2021
Thank you professor. Northern leaders are not sincere in the fight against terrorism and banditry. When Nnamdi KANU started attacking the East and destroying several infrastructures and burning police stations I just know is a matter of time before he will be caught and the long arm of the law will catch up with him. If only government can deploy half of the energy used in arresting Nnamdi KANU on the bandits. I bet you banditry will be a thing of the past.

I am a Female Nigerian in my early thirties and have been working @ the UN for several years.

This thread has been created to answer specific questions you may have about working in the UN.

I have been working from home since the beginning of the pandemic and my days are always extremely busy ; juggling official duties with domestic responsibilities as a wife and mother cry. Notwithstanding, I will try my best to select serious questions and provide comprehensive feedback that will help you kick start your journey in this regard.

As the thread progresses, I shall be posting vacancies from several UN/international organisations in Nigeria, and also provide support with helping you to brand your CV for international organisations like the UN, but not limited to the UN.

Please note that this thread is for serious minded peeps only and comments irrelevant to the purpose of this (life changing) thread will be overlooked.

Kind Regards,
Iderade Aratumi
I studied economics in school. Pls what are the positions someone like me can apply? I applied for a volunteering job but I have not gotten any response from them, how long does it take for UN or their affiliate organizations to respond to applications? Lastly pls what professional qualification(s) can give me an edge over other candidates to be the best fit for any position related to my field of study? Thank you
