0GBUEFI:look at what ure doing to urself, posting dis crap on every thread wudnt make u a better man. |
Amara25god:in as much as I want APGA to win, I can honestly tell u dat APGA has slim chances at victory, the number of votes counts, and not number of LGAs. Rerun will hold in 299 polling units, and believe u me, voter turnout won't exceed 50%, and remember, PDP is leading with over 83k votes. |
Amara25god:how do u expect APGA to overturn that 83k vote gap? Do u think many will come out for the re-run? |
Lol |

Candidates want Abia gov poll cancelled APRIL 18, 2015 : STEPHEN UKANDU A coalition of governorship candidates from various political parties who contested the April 11 governorship poll in Abia state have called for the outright cancellation of the result of the election, demanding a fresh exercise. The governorship candidates who addressed a press conference on Friday in Umuahia alleged that the poll was marred with massive rigging and irregularities, hence their rejection of its outcome. Returning Officer, Professor Benjamin Ozurumba, had declared the exercise inconclusive after the candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu polled 248, 459 votes ahead of his All Progressive Grand Alliance counterpart, Dr. Alex Otti, who garnered 165,406 votes out of the 439,454 total vote cast. The Independent National Electoral Commission had also fixed April 25 for a supplementary election in some of the polling units in about nine Local Government Areas where election results were cancelled. Candidates at the press conference were Chief Mgbeahuru Dike of the United Progressive Party; Peter Azubuike of the National Conscience Party; and Sunday Isaac of the Peoples Democratic Congress. “There was no election in Abia state on April 11,” they said. The candidates of the APC, Chief Nyerere Anyim; and Labour Party, Otti Mba, were not at the briefing, but Dike, who spoke on behalf of others, said they obtained their consent. He said, “The people of Abia were not allowed to exercise their franchise on the election day and we call on well meaning Nigerians to add their voices to the call for total cancellation. “If the PDP and APGA candidates are sure of their popularity, they should allow INEC to conduct elections in the state.” http://www.punchng.com/news/candidates-want-abia-gov-poll-cancelled/ |

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has called on the Nigerian security apparatus to immediately arrest the trio of out-going Governor T.A Orji, Olisa Metuh, Rtd. Colonel Akobundu “and other cohorts, who openly threatened the guardians of our electoral system last Sunday at the INEC office in Umuahia – Capital of Abia State, and thwarted legally sanctioned electoral processes.” According to APGA National Publicity Secretary Okwukwe Ibiam in a statement he issued today, “These culprits must be brought to book for openly threatening, maneuvering and causing an electoral official to reverse an existing ruling. We do not have to recount the mental torture the official was put through in order to achieve the dastardly end. “That is no democracy. That was pure thuggery! No electoral officer may face an open or implied threat of bodily harm to his person or associates in the discharge of their duties. We cannot condone outright disrespect for legal guardians of the realm in our electoral system, or it will be open season on all those who can. “The Good People of Abia State have spoken, and results may not be boldly manipulated. The APGA won fair and square! “The results from Obioma Ngwa, Isiala Ngwa, Ugwunabo and localities bordering Aba, are pure travesty. They do not reflect the sentiments of similar votes cast in the Aba vicinity or other parts of Abia State where the electorate made clear, they were done with PDP Governance in Abia State. The PDP failed woefully and were rejected by the electorate, all over Abia State. Manipulating results from areas typically bordering Ngwaland, aiming to harp on local sentiments cannot save the day. Such desperation from a do-nothing State Government. Shame! “APGA stands by the cancellations, and would call for a total re-run monitored by appropriate Nigerian security agencies, where the people will cast their votes safely, and such votes collated at the end of the day registered properly, in the presence of the Nigerian security forces. “APGA will also remark that even without the re-run, Dr. Alex Otti has emerged the new Governor of Abia State following already legally collated results from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) last weekend.” The heat is on, lol, Alex Otti nwere ezigbo weight. http://www.newsexpressngr.com/news/detail.php?news=10750
