Knowledge is not power, sharing knowledge is indeed power. The more we share our knowledge among ourselves the more we become connected with the world and ourselves and attain knowledge of self leading to self love. Lets contribute to this by sharing what we know. It could be anything. It could be about love, blackpower, economics, science and technology etc. It could even be a poem. Lets keep it rolling. -from facebook page "The Green Fist" LIKE https://mobile.facebook.com/The-Green-Fist-498393457002688/

divinehand2003:just imagine. Our policing system needs to be seriously checked. |
So I was gisting with a friend this evening around 7pm and was told about an incident that occured while I was away involving some psych centric police men. This incident according to my friend occured on a sunday afternoon At Ijegun road, bank busstop. A man with his family were returning from church service and as they went via a police checkpoint he was asked to stop, but due to the already loud volume of a christian song playing from his tricycle(known as KEKE NAPEP) he was not able to hear the policeman telling him to stop obviously for no tangible reason(N20 things). The coward took out his AK47 and shot at the tricycle. The bullet went via the man's wife and to the man's head instantly killing both of them. The policeman realising what he had done attempted to escape with the rest but they were quickly apprehended by people around. I am yet to be told what the final judgement was but then a lot of questions have been popping up in my head; WTF is wrong with our policemen? I still do not understand why a policeman should be in possession of a gun? Not to talk of pointing it at an innocent civilian. I see no reason why the people who are meant to protect us be with a deadly weapon. Do we look like animals? are we in a war zone? There are ways to bring about peace and security and its not by using weapon as deadly as gun. How are these policemen even recruited? Is there usually a check on their mental state before they get employed? is there usually a check on their past criminal record? Its hightime the Govt did something about this. I mean it is getting too much. my advice is that the govt should revisit the steps and approached used in recruiting policemen. Criminal and mental record of these men shoud be checked. secondly, no policeman should be allowed to be in possession of any gun of any kind until when the need arise. lastly our policemen lack discipline, they should be seriously disciplined if these rules are slightly broken. Nigerians deserve to feel truely protected and secured. We have the right to live without fear of being wrongfully treated. "The Green Fist" on facebook. A very Good day to you Nairalanders. My name is Adavize Hassan, currently a student of History at Ahmadu Bello Univeristy Zaria. I just founded this movement "The Green Fist" which is aimed at emancipating the mind of the Nigerian people. I recently realised that many Nigerians are still living the "slave mindset", the mentality that they are not capable of adding any positive difference to the society. I realised this and felt the urge to try to help my people with the much I can do. I will be doing this by writing, yes writing articles that inspire Nigerians both home and abroad. I will also be helping to organise awareness and campaign rally to whoever is in need of such assistance maybe not financially but morally. I would gladly appreciate if you can also help by spreading this message. Please do LIKE my page by following this link: https://m.facebook.com/The-Green-Fist-498393457002688/ or by searching for "The Green Fist" on facebook. You can also follow me on twitter http://twitter.com/adavizetwit . I will be waiting for your comments to get any advice and tips you may like to share. Thanks for taking the time to read. God bless.

100,000 followers on Instagram is no easy feat. But celebrating and using this parameter to measure self worth/value is nothing but a display of misplaced priority. |
Kassidy90:the truth is that there is no such thing as numeric rewards for reciting the Quran, its all gotten from narrations attributed to the prophet(hadiths) ![]() |
Religion vs. Islam What if I told you that Islam was sent down to abolish religion? A set of concrete, intolerant rules that have caused nothing but division? What if I told you that voting for PAS isn’t our mission? That just because you vote for them, doesn’t mean you see with the right vision? Because if religion is so great, why has it caused so much separation? We succeed in creating big, beautiful mosques, but leave the needy in desperation. Religion says they preach grace, But they practice another and don’t even hide it in your face. They cover themselves in white cloth from head to toe, Not knowing that this facade of purity couldn’t even hide their tainted soul. You see, the problem with religion is that they don’t focus on the core. It’s just a long list of do’s and don’ts, and if you don’t follow, they’ll abhor. They emphasise on dressing the outside, look nice and neat. Not realising that beneath all those layers, they are rotting underneath. Everywhere around me, I see people putting on a fake look. What’s the point if people know you’re a Muslim only through your Facebook? If you think about it, this logic only makes you a posey. It’s like saying you play for Harimau Malaya just because you own a jersey. The surau kids, the aura of piety they adorn, But then they go back home to continue their porn. Going to the mosque on Fridays for mass prayer, But getting wasted on weekends like they forgot their Creator. I spent my whole life believing this facade of goodness, It doesn’t matter how I am on the inside, as long as outside I look sinless. But ever since I got to know Islam, I boast in my weakness. I understand that I don’t understand everything, and that gave me soundness. Because if mercy was water, God is an ocean no universe can hold. His grace is far greater than any love we’ve ever seen, be it new or old. Islam is not a trophy shelf stacked with shiny gold, It’s supposed to be a hospital for the broken with secrets untold. We seek refuge in His arms so gentle and comfortable, Because we know to Him, nothing is unforgivable. Think of it this way: If the Prophet came to your mosque today, Would you let him in or drive him away? Because let’s not forget that he was called deviant by the religious men of his day. If he came to you right now, would you believe him or look away? Islam does not support self-righteousness, not now, not ever. More than anything else, God said He’ll be the judge of matters in which we differ. So who are we to determine who’s worthy or who’s not, When we’re only mere mortals and not messengers of God. That’s why to me, Islam and religion should have no intervention. This is because one is a work of God, the other is a man-made invention. Religion says, “We just know.” Islam says, “There’s so much knowledge to cultivate and grow.” Religion restricts your mind like a nail stuck on a tree, But Islam allows you to spread your wings, fly and be free. Religion is man looking for God, Sometimes even acting in His place. Don’t they realize they’re being a fraud, And Islam is not supposed to be a race? Islam, however, is God looking for man. How did we all forget that the Prophet was lost before God gave him His hand? This is why my faith is mine and mine alone. I believe in His salvation, and my mistakes are mine to atone. Remember that God is al-ghafoor, al-tawwab, al-hakeem. We say it every day: Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. The human mind can never comprehend the strength of God’s grace, I believe everyone deserves to know God, just maybe at their own pace. *** adaptation of Jefferson Bethke’s “Why I hate religion, but love Jesus” source: http:ozize..com |
kennyosein:okay this means, Musa, Isa, Zakarayah, Yusuf, Ismail etc are not muslims cos they didnt follow hadith? wow, didnt knw such display of ignorance still exist |
tgwltm:you said the quran alone is not enough for a wise muslim. well Allah says:in Q6:114 and 16:89 that the quran is fully detailed. infact God has warned muslims to followonly the Quran in 6:38 Read from Q6:112-114 |
See? Thats why I dont believe in hadiths! Hadiths are filled with superstitous beliefs and are lies against Muhammad. The Quran alone is enough for a wise muslim! SMH |
