Council of Chiefs as used in this article means the forum of traditional rulers.
The article says he was installed as Amanabo of his kingdom.
It further said that his subjects described him as "a peaceful traditional ruler" and was also referred to him as king.
So,I don't know the basis of your argument that he wasn't a king.
Is it bcuz they said he was "Chairman, Council of Chiefs" ?
The phrase there still means "Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers" and it's headed by one of the Kings selected by members of the council as it's chairman.
When they Chief here, you think they are referring to ordinary "tittle' given to some political leaders or elderly people in the community?
No,those ones do not have a recognizable forum.It is only kings that have a recognizable forum known as "Council of Chiefs ".
In every state of Nigeria, especially in the S/S states,most of their states' Edits has special designation for traditional rulers council aka Council of Chiefs.
My point is that ,that forum is headed by a king and not just an ordinary title chief in the community as you assumed.
So,that man is/or was a King,not just ordinary title chief.
That is why the article referred to him as a monarch and addressed him as "His Royal Highness (HRH) ".

Most Nigerian men are either fat or overweight.Your big or protruded stomach is an indicator of a poor health and a predictor of a premature death.Our women generally are fat, some already from 20 years. Most have been hoodwinked into believing that a so called big yanch,full option,big body etc might attract men and so they end up overeating themselves.This makes many to become fat which often is difficult to loose.Mr macaroni, Nollywood, Afrobeats,skits videos etc eulogizing fat bum bum are not helping matters.Slump and die is very rampant among fat people,women most especially.

Most Nigerians generally can't run a 5km,10k distance or brisk walk for a few kilometers.The ones living in the diaspora,also top the chart as an unhealthy demographic.The women are either fat or obese with the men creeping closer.I watched a UK fitness run event recently online,and of over 17000 participants,only 46 Nigerians took part whereas South Africans, Indians came out in their numbers.
A clear pointer of a people that are likely going to become fat because of physical inactivity and die sooner.

Do you know a 10km distance?
Why should we attempt that just for an exercise?
