Honestly u are very naive

How can government cortrol naira going to 1550

Hope you are beyond that ss3 in your profile

Really, government cannot control currency depreciation or appreciation?
You must have gone to the back of school.
So you that claimed to have gone beyond SS3,you don't know that;
1. If government create enabling environment for manufacturing sector to thrive, that it can strengthen naira?
2.When government balances her trade by exporting at the same rate she is importing, that exchange rate will stabilize?
3. If government build her own refinery and refine oil locally for domestic consumption and export, that naira will appreciate?
4. If government improves national security expecially in rural area where agricultural activities are done, that more food will be produced leading to self-food sufficiency?
5. ......and a lot more.

Or is it that you don't know that all the above economy policies that control our national life indices are controlled by government?
Or is it that you are not aware that it is government failed policies that has caused naira to reach the #1550 against dollar that you are talking about?
And these are what the protesters are calling the government out for,and you are here saying protest is not the solution. That government can't control its currency loosing value every minute and....bla bla bla bla

Protest cant solve the problems in Nigeria. If you like, protest for 1 year, petrol price won't fall to #180 per litre

How can the exchange rate be $/1590 and you expect petrol to be #180 per litre. Naira needs to start strengtning before price will fall
When you people the ruling class keep saying that protest is not the solution to bad governance and economic mismanagement,I wonder what then is.
What have you people in the ruling class or supporters of ruling class ever brought to the table as alternative solutions to our economy problems.

You said the exchange rate is #1500 to a dollar,is it not government bad policies that caused it?
Was it the ordinary citizens that made naira to lost value completely?

The people cry, shouted, pleaded but government paid deaf ears to their plights.
So what then do you expect the people do?
Fold their alms and allow government get away with anything-goes policies?
Or clap for government for bringing untold hardship to them?

If you want anarchy of the type that results from government not even having money for looters to steal....make tinubu subsidise fuel to N100 per liter.

You go enjoy for a few months, meanwhile, the resultant debt would be gathering and gathering...until one day, there would be zero revenue for anything. And there still would be massive debt to pay, resulting for the subsidy

I no dey defend APC, I had my eyes opened in 2011, after I saw why GEJ removed subsidy...and make I tell you I am not also PDP fan, or GEJ fan. But when GEJ was spending thrice on subsidy in 2011 what he spent in 2010, due to rising crude oil prices making cost of refining high, meaning subsidy costs high....wahala dey.

Yes, why did they not fix refinereis...? Because the only way for refinery to work is by allowing petrol to be sold at market price...that is why Niger and Ghana who produce crude have working refineries. No effing investor go invest in refinery wey go dey refine fuel at N1000 sell am below N200 in the name of helping the poor. Subaisy money self...government go pay today, next month dem go do shakara for you. That is how we lost our NNPC refineries, when government was skimping on TAM to make subsidy costs cheap, and when money was being poured down a hole to make things worse.

And yes, Dangote can build refinery because he got loans. If he fails to pay back those loans because baba blue dey beg am sell fuel at N200 per liter to help the poor...wetin go happen next...the banks will take over all his lucrative investments elsewhere and pay back their loans. Nothing for Alhaji Aliko at all.

Look, this thing is not about PDP or APC, or whether you supproterd Bulabu and baba tinubu at 2012, or supported GEJ in 2012, or whether you hate poor or love poor. We are in debt from the subsidy, government has even forced CBN to increase debt ceiling aka ways and means to pay for the subsidy it is keeping, and if it agrees to ya demand, the amount of loans taken will go up, and up, as oil becomes more expensive because of rising costs of refining, and because naira is falling thanks to the high level we spend on debts.

How bad is it...Tinubu's partial removal is why we are not spending 150 PER CENT On debt right now.

Yes, we are poor, yes, if fuel costs N1500, beans will cost 1000000 per bag, yes, apc is evil, yes, tinubu must go....but if we subsidise fuel at N200 per liter, we are just bringing upon ourselves the kind of economic anarchy that would make today's protests look like IKorodu bois script.

And yes, you can abuse me, but here we are. Cheap fuel always ends up being paid for in debt. Even countries like Iran that are managing working refineries and fuel subsidy, their debt dey look them like one jealous wife dey look her husband when she has found out about his side chick. And make we no forget Venezuela...sell fuel at N40, lose 18 billion dollars to smuggling alone.
Since I joined Nairaland many years ago, this is the most useless and senseless comment/analysis I have ever read.

Politics / Re: Pictures From 2012 Occupy Nigeria by Pacesetter123(m): 7:47am On Aug 03
At any given time,to me, subsidy removal by government without functional refineries is a bad policy and should vehemently be resisted by the people.
Goodluck Jonathan was wrong to have removed subsidy without having a single refinery that refines fuel locally.

Coming back to Tinubu's regime, Tinubu's subsidy removal is even worse than that of Jonathan's.
This is because Tinubu was the one that itemized all the things Jonathan should have done before removing subsidy.Number one of those things he said was building refineries and starting local refining before removal.

But that same person now came into power, have the mind to remove subsidy without doing none of those things he told Goodluck to do before removing subsidy. That makes his own removal worse than Goodluck because he knew long long time ago the sufferings, hardship, widespread hunger and total economy collapse that will visit Nigeria and Nigerians for removing subsidy without refinery and he still went ahead and removed it.
That means it's a deliberate policy by this present administration to intentionally punish the masses with hunger and unnecessary economic hardship.
He and his supporters are now telling us the Nigeria youths to endure and give him more time.Did we give Jonathan anytime at all ,let alone more time?
Goodluck was elected in May 29th,2011.In January,2012 the whole Nigeria with the backing of those in power today (Which I supported then no doubt) went on "Occupy Nigeria protest".
How long was that government when we protested?
Just 6 months only. And today, one full year plus has gone already and some tribal bigots and beneficiaries of corrupt system are saying there should be no protest. That protest is not the solution. That this government is still at baby stage.
What a sentimental and hypocritical people they are!!!

Why are they always storming palaces instead of finding solutions?

It's like they think shouting and breaking things will solve Nigeria's problems. Protesters in this country love drama more than real change.
Which other solutions do you want them to find other than the protest they are doing?
The government that created the problems did not find solution to them, it's the oppressed, hungry, traumatized and demoralized youths that you are advising to find a solution to problems they didn't create.
