Your concern should be whether the guy is saying the right thing or not. You're actually borrowing words from the police: "oga na you wan teach us our work?"

Stop this slavery mentality because the Nigerian police today is nothing to write home about

Politics / Re: Peter Obi Vehemently Condemns Lagos-Calabar Highway As A Misplaced Priority by pacesetting: 7:16pm On Apr 30
You saw on the Internet that the road will be linked to East-West road? Please go and do more research on the new project, because it seems you're looking at the wrong side of the internet.

Your second paragraph is also unnecessary. Everybody knows the benefits of roads. I said, what is the benefit of a more expensive new road when the older one leading to the same destination has not been completed?

Also, I'm not going to indulge myself talking about Peter Obi with you. Because, it's a waste of time, based on your replies so far. Enjoy your evening!!
emkz:

I expect the new road to link to the East-West road. If designs I saw on the internet for the coastal highway are correct, then it is actually to link up with the East-West road. In other words, it is part of the same road.

You asked for the benefits of spending trillions on a road. Off the top of my head, the following are the benefits of a road infrastructure:
(1) Open up rural areas to industrialization by connecting rural areas to urban centers.
(2) Reducing commuting time for travellers.
(3) Enhancing the economies of local communities through job creation and trade.
(4) Enhancing cultural cocktails and boosting tourism potentials.
(5) Revenue generation through tolls in the long term.
(6) Reducing people's expenses. If I can drive to my office in Lagos in one hour and live somewhere accommodation is cheaper.

In a society towards urbanization, there is no such thing as too much roads. Peter Obi not knowing that is why he is unfit for leadership.
Politics / Re: Peter Obi Vehemently Condemns Lagos-Calabar Highway As A Misplaced Priority by pacesetting: 6:23pm On Apr 30
You still don't get it. I ask again, what's the benefit of spending trillions on a route when there's already an existing route under construction leading to the same destination? Won't it be wise to complete the existing route and use the huge balance of funds to focus on other pressing issues?
emkz:

What I an still explaining is that these projects are ongoing simultaneously!

Do you know how to use Google? Search East-West Road on the search bar and navigate to "news", and you'd see the latest on East-West Road. My biggest worry is that many of Tinubu's ministers are docile. During Obasanjo's time, his minister of information had a project where he visited project sites to show what government was doing. I think it was aired on NTA every week.

Tinubu's minister is sitting down in Abuja. We should be seeing him in different project sights and having programmes on major TV stations showcasing what government is doing in various sectors.

People assume nothing is happening because they don't know.

By the way, Dave Umahi is redesigning most of the projects to concrete to save costs and last longer.
Politics / Re: Peter Obi Vehemently Condemns Lagos-Calabar Highway As A Misplaced Priority by pacesetting: 6:04pm On Apr 30
Now, can you tell me why you think spending trillions on this project is better than spending considerably lesser to complete the east-west road that also has the same route?
emkz:

These kinds of projects are done in phases and are eventually linked up. We expect the construction to take place in several sections at the same time. That's what I'd do as Minister of Works.

I am indifferent to where it starts from. I am just happy it has started after 60 years!
Politics / Re: Peter Obi Vehemently Condemns Lagos-Calabar Highway As A Misplaced Priority by pacesetting: 5:51pm On Apr 30
The project should have started from Calabar if the government is sincere. Don't you think so?
emkz:

If anyone from the Niger-Delta comes across the thread, please remember that some of you voted for Peter Obi. Peter Obi has demonstrated he is against the progress of the Niger Delta communities. The bulk of the funds for running our economy comes from the Niger Delta. But he says a big project to criss-cross the Niger Delta is a misplaced priority.

Note that the US spent their way out of recession through the New Deal which focused on massive infrastructural development across board, including roads. There is no nation interested in progress that is currently not engaged in one form of infrastructural development or the other. But the one which is 60 years old overdue in Nigeria, Peter Obi is fighting it, simply because he lost election.

If he didn't build anything meaningful in Anambra, I think it is disingenuous to fight against something being built through the Niger Delta. Thanks to Tinubu's ingenuity, Lagos is undergoing massive infrastructural development and embarking on an audacious railway project which the likes of Rufai Oseni would condemn.

Peter Obi doesn't want the progress for the Niger Delta. He just wants to get the votes and use anti-developmental and archaic ideas to ruin this country completely.

Only vote for those who want progress to be in your land. With this tweet, Peter Obi has shown he is not interested in that.

As for the Landmark CEO who has been all over the place making noise, can he show us documents where the shorelines and beaches in his location were ceded to him? If he violated the right of way, it is evil for him to complain. The best thing to do was to meet and find ways to relocate his business or shift to an area where the coastal highway won't pass. When I travelled through Accra-Cape Coast highway, part of which was adjacent to the ocean, it was a beautiful sight with the blue waters! Guess what? Beaches still functioned!!

Just to add, a road network is also a delight for businesses. Food can easily be transported from rural areas to urban centers and those in rural communities would make good money.

But Peter Obi does not want this.

Animals in human form have ended this beautiful one's life. Later, they'll start flaunting money from their evil deeds while the society hails them.

Yeah. And the problem is, he's going after those ones who helped him to become the president while giving his goodwill to others who don't deserve it?

The main problem of the party now should be governance, not politicking. Don't you think so?

I'm just talking about the problems in our party and it doesn't mean the masses are not important.
Politics / Re: "This Is Not The Ahmed Bola Tinubu I Know" - Asari Dokubo Cries Again by pacesetting: 6:25pm On Apr 29
I didn't see where you mentioned the masses here. So, it's all about "our party"?
EreluRoz:
Exactly, asiwaju has let paper weight politicians like Gbajabiamila, Faleke and few others to form cabal, same people that couldn't deliver Lagos state to him. They are destroying him and this is where Remi should come in fast before they use their reckless attitude of witchunting to destroy our party. People that really fought the battle for asiwaju are being edged out while these paper weight politicians who were just privileged to know asiwaju are using their position to hunt the main people that fought the battle. Very sad

A quick question for you: How much has the Federal Government budgeted for the coastal road? Do you know how much? I don't think you do.

If you eventually find out, ask yourself whether that money will not be enough to improve Nigeria's electricity needs. A country is spending trillions on a coastal highway when it lacks basic amenities like electricity, and you are okay with that?

The worst type of slaves are the ones who are happily supporting their oppressors.

Marriage is not about what you have done or not done. It's about how you tolerate each other.

That's why marriage of our fathers and forefathers lasted more.

If you're not the one who disvirgined your wife, no mattythe position you rose to, you will always be said.
