PoliticsQuality Leadership Of Oyetola/alabi by packagerz(op): 12:04pm On Sep 03, 2020
Today, The Government of Alhaji Isiaka Oyetola/Chief Benedict Olugboyega Alabi has laid a golden land mark within short period of time.. All expressions about them did something to me; they knocked some sense into me about hard-work, integrity, character and humility that persuaded me to fall in love with their good works -Comedian/Ceo AFENUJAGUN ENTERTAINMENT..

Oyetola/Alabi an humble, selfless, compassionate, humorous, and religious men with high moral conviction.

Surely its only a blind man who will say he did not see or feel the progress of Osun which we shall receive in manifold, from Governor Gboyega Oyetola in terms of participatory and people-driven governance, free speech, and accommodation of alternative opinions as elements of democratic governance.

Those who know him cannot agree less that his life is dominated by the triumph of his unique gifts especially those that challenge him. Every single one of us have gifts of mind and heart just that he found ways to release them in both large and small.

Pointedly, Osun people credit the stream of knowledge which constitutes the concept of “Oyetola/Alabi".as a good start up. It was their school of knowledge and governance which provided the verve and lifeline with which workers/pensioners in the state go home monthly, with their pay-cheques to date and this also provided the basis of my understanding of values in governance and service to the people .

Governor Oyetola's brilliance and selfless service to father land and common sense illustrations of how governance should work during retreats is unparalleled. He’s been an inspiration to all those who came across him.

I was surprised with the deputy Governor's welcome message when i paid him courtesy visit to seek his support for my comedy skit.
His Excellency Olugboya Alabi's tradition of clear thinking and simple exposition are admirable No doubt, he has influenced our modern generation positively just as we urge everyone who has come across him to imbibe these core values wholly.

Let me add quickly, that the current development of specific ideas which this government has successfully implemented and of which we are better today as a state, was enhanced by Oyetola/Alabi. The two leader’s careful and methodical analysis of the ideas and achievements today, not only made them a perfect and compliant achiever but it will take them further to lead osun to Next level.

Osun state is the most secured state in south west when it comes to security,Our retirees are smiling with their monthly pay,Farmers,Hospitals roads are doing well..

I pray for continuation of the OYETOLA/ALABI led administration..

I support 4+4

I support the governement of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola/Chief Benedict Olugboyega Alabi...

ENHANCE YOUR CHARACTER, MY FRIEND

Enhance your character, my friend,
Prosperity could depart from one’s home,
And beauty could retreat from people’s bodies.
Today’s rich could become poor tomorrow,
Opulence is like ocean's surfs; it is like ocean's waves,
They come and go from one’s home as they please;
But, only good character follows one to the grave,
Money is not everything to anyone.
Good character is the beauty of a mortal,
What if you are wealthy without good character?
Who would trust you with something serious?
Perhaps, you are a gorgeous woman,
If you are far from societal norms,
Who would marry you as a wife?
Or you are a fraudulent person,
May be you are well educated;
Who would transact business with you?
Enhance your character, my friend,
In the absence of character, education is a waste;
The whole world appreciates a well-mannered person.

CultureThe National Culture by packagerz(op): 2:07pm On Aug 18, 2020
- The National culture of a nation is built on the foundation of solid personal character, which in turn allows for a civil society, characterized by a disciplined self-regulating society. This I will suggest form the basis of basic human expectations such as trust, values, norms, acceptable dispositions and other aspects of social interactions. It is my belief that irrespective of race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, class or gender, a nation is only as good as the quality of its citizens. If we have people with good character, then it follows that we will have good political leaders, business leaders and community leaders, religious and civic leaders and almost by default good institutions. This is how a society builds Social Capital. As some have put it, there is no nation building without character building. Character traits like integrity, selflessness, honesty, diligence, trust are core values that are essential to nation building. These are the values that make for viable institutions. It is this conglomeration of character traits that defines the National Culture.

CareerMaye Of Yoruba Kingdom Preaches Peace And Love by packagerz(op): 5:27am On Aug 16, 2020
Let us Promote Love, Mutual Respect, Peace And Tolerance In yorubaland.

Since the pandemic emerged in Nigeria, life has not been the same for us all. Our economic and social lives have been seriously disrupted.Businesses and cooperate works have suffer financial break down.

For the first time in living memory, Muslims in our country fasted this year without spiritual acts of worship that accompany the Holy Month of Ramadan, and had Eid celebration devoid of the mandatory congressional prayers. Historically too, this would be the fourth time in all time that the holy pilgrimage of Hajj would suffer restrictions.
To the glory of the Almighty, the restrictions are being eased. But we are not yet there. There’s still work to be done to ensure that we contain the spread of this virulent disease and rebuild our economic and social life post Covid-19.

It is important that we continue to priotise personal hygiene of washing our hands, using face masks, avoiding crowded places and observing social distancing.

The essence of the social distance is for our own sake In this season of a virus pandemic, we should acknowledge that part of the sacrifices required of us is adherence to instructions and protocols towards the containment of the spread of the corona virus.

In the last four months or so, we have been united in our common resolve to beat this disruptor to our lives. We have drawn strength from one another. We have been guided by the dictum that no man/woman is an island, and that a threat to one is a threat to all. Above all, love has in this season of great uncertainty, broken down the walls of divisions that seek to compromise our resolve to stand united.

As a leader,i urged all muslims and christians to continue to pray for the yorubaland and work assiduously for the promotion of love, mutual respect, peace and tolerance in order to build a stronger and more united country.

I believe that despite our diversity, we can transform our differences into strength by identifying the common interests and issues that bind us together.

Yes, we may have been born different, but religious differences shouldn't be allowed to lead to acrimony and antagonism among us.

May Allah continue to guide and protect our lives.

CultureWords On The Marble..maye Of Yoruba Kingdom by packagerz(op): 10:30am On Aug 15, 2020
*YORUBAS MUST LEARN...words on the marble-Maye of yoruba kingdom

Long time ago in the Animal Kingdom, a sheep was passing and saw a lion crying inside a cage trap and the lion begged the sheep to save him with a promise not to kill and eat it but the sheep refused*.

After much persuasion and for the sheep's gullibility it opened the cage for the lion.
Now the lion was very hungry having stayed in the cage for days without food.
It quickly grabbed the sheep to kill and eat but the sheep reminded him of his promise.
They were still there arguing when other animals came passing and they sought to know what happened.

*Both the lion and the sheep narrated their own side of the story but because of fear and in trying to gain Favour in the sight of the lion, all the animals took side with the lion except the Tortoise who claim not to understand the whole scenario*.

Now the Tortoise asked the lion to show them where he was before the sheep rescued him, he pointed at the cage.
He asked again, "were you inside or outside when the sheep arrived"? The lion said he was inside.
The tortoise again said "ok, enter lets see how difficult it could be inside".
The lion entered and the tortoise locked him back inside.

*In amazement the other animals asked tortoise "why" and he replied "if we allow him eat the sheep today, he will still go hungry tomorrow and we don't know the next amongst us to be eaten tomorrow*.

*Moral*:

Don't support evil today because it doesn't affect you directly, tomorrow it could be your turn.

Stay Safe.

*"And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it]."*

CultureMoney Has Never Been Foremost In Yoruba Value System by packagerz(op): 10:51am On Aug 14, 2020
EKU OJUMO EYIN OMO ILE KAROO OJIRE.

In Yorubaland, money has never been foremost in Yoruba value system. In our value system money is number six.

What are the first five you may ask?
1. The first is làákà’yè - The application of knowledge, wisdom & understanding... (Ogbón and ìmò òye)

2. The second is Ìwà Omolúàbí - (integrity) Someone with integrity is a man/woman of their words. If you have all the wealth in the world but lack integrity, you are not worth a thing. Integrity is combined with iwa, (character) which we regard as Omolúàbí.

3. The third is Akínkanjú or Akin - (Valour)
That is why Balóguns is second-in-command to the leaders in Yoruba land.
Balóguns are people that can lead them to war. To lead with great courage in the face of danger, especially in battle. Yoruba people have no respect for cowards.

4. The fourth is Anísélápá tí kìíse òle - (Having a visible means of livelihood) A person must be identified with a visible means of livelihood that guarantees a lawful income or sustenance. His or her profession or job must be open and legally approved by society, and not through cheating or forcefulness.

5. The fifth is in - (Honour) Yoruba people place a premium on the gait with which individuals carry themselves and public reputation.
That is why Yorùbá people usually say when you set out to look for money and you meet honour on the way then you don't need the journey anymore, because if you get the money, you will still use it to buy honour.

6. The last in the Yorùbá value system is owó tàbí orò - (Money or wealth) If putting money ahead of the other five, then you are nobody in Yoruba land of the olden days. Unfortunately, this is being pushed to the front burner nowadays due to the erosion of our value system.

Eku Ojumo eyin Omo ile karo Ojire .

FamilyTribute To My Late Mother..dr Rahman Adedoyin by packagerz(op): 3:21pm On Aug 09, 2020
Dear mother,

Today, I remember the demise of my beloved mother.

Certainly, death is inevitable! Every living soul has its death coupon already issued depending on when, where and how. But it is most certain that we will all embark on that eternal journey someday. In spite of this, we still grieve when we lose our beloved ones, particularly, our parents.

Indeed, the sorrow of losing parents, especially a mother, is to the extreme and an emotionally severe one.

Hajiya Mamma, I am really saddened and grieving at your demise, it has made my siblings and I feel lonely. May Aljannah be your final abode.

I am just wondering where else we can get the heartfelt love and care you lavished on us? Anyway, we take solace in the fact that you lived a good life. A life that we are all proud of.

Mamma, you’ve been the source of my progress, cheerfulness, courage, and a strong pillar upon which I rest. You taught me to be generous and God fearing, even when you were bed-bound and could not talk, you beckoned on me to do good to others, you prayed for me even when I could not comprehend what you were saying, but seeing you raising your hands up is explicitly and unambiguously clear to me that, you were praying for me.

When you left us, I was comforted to some extent when I heard people around you emotionally proclaiming the same songs with us (your biological children) that they’ve lost a pillar, meaning; you’ve been a pillar to all and sundry not only to us (your children) Allah (SWT) said in the Holy Quran 31: 14 that, “And We have enjoined upon man, care for his parents. His mother carried him, increasing her in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the final destination.”

I’m indeed very grateful to you (my parents) and I pray to Allah to accept all your good deeds and forgive your wrongs. May He also accept and reward us abundantly for all we’ve done to give comfort our parents.

It is important to mention at this point, to anyone who’s reading this piece and whose parents are still alive to do well to take proper care of them by providing them with basic necessities of life. Please, do those things that make them feel happy, loved and appreciated, like a child in the arms of his nursing mother.

Of course, the gesture should be extended to their siblings and friends. For those of us that lost ours, the best we can do is to fervently pray for them always and seek the means of creating avenues for good deeds and charity works to dedicate the rewards to them.

‘’My Lord and Sustainer! Be kind and have mercy on them as they cherished, nurtured and sustained me in childhood.”

Mamma you strong and also encoutage me until you departed. According to a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) who said; when a Muslim is sick, the sins falls away just as fire purifies gold. I pray may your protracted sickness wipe away every atom of your sins.

Tears drifts down my face as I’m writing this piece with my heart fiery from the innermost, telling me that, from now on, I will spend the rest of my life here on earth without my loving, caring, and encouraging mother. It’s really an irreparable loss which has created a vacuum that cannot be filled.

I fervently pray that, all you’ve prayed for us during your lifetime continue to follow us until our last breath.
I can’t finish this without appreciating all those that stood with us at the time of our grief. No doubt, your presence at the funeral prayers, your outpoured prayers and consolations via direct calls, text massages, and on social media was overwhelming, calming, and encouraging. I really can’t thank you enough but I pray to Allah to reward you abundantly and may He continue to keep us together and forgive our deaths.

Adieu Hajiya Mamma! Continue to Rest in Peace until we meet to part no more.

EducationWe should invest in Education.Dr Ramon Adedoyin by packagerz(op):
WE SHOULD INVEST IN EDUCATION

Education is the best gift to the society...i have forsee the future of better Education long long time ago...Almighty Allah has blessed with insights that has made me to achieve alots of land marks.

Nigeriacan have more institutions if endowments can come from gifts thru wealthy donors, contributions from alumnis of most government institutions, profits from tuition and other fees etc. In the case of state-owned universities, grants from the government can also contribute to the financial positions of such institutions. Beyond university-wide endowments, there are numerous specific endowments for professorial chairs and for scholarships.

What’s the point? In countries that are making progress and are globally competitive, education is an industry in which huge public and private investments are made. Wealthy Nigerians and alumni of Nigerian universities should look more seriously at this model of funding education. In Nigeria,Ooni of ife, late Oba okunade Sijuwade supported me alots for the establishment of ODUDUWA university.

(I was the first person to establish the first private polytechnic in nigeria because i assessed to have future leadership potential.)

But governments still have a primary role in education. So federal and state governments must invest massively in education reform, as follows:

1. Invest in massive teacher training and Re-training programs to make those who teach our kids fit for purpose.

2. Reform the curriculum towards skills acquisition for job creation, rebalancing tertiary education curricula to 60:40 in favor of science, technology, skills and entrepreneurship versus arts and social sciences.

3. Create a clear “vocational track” and “professional track” in secondary education and establish more tertiary vocational institutions.

4. Invest in pedagogy (how we learn) reform, away from rote learning (“cram and pour”) to self-discovery and creative learning methods that embed what is learnt because students participate more in the learning process. In my class as a professor, the student’s original research essay carried 60% of total marks, participation in class discussion and group exercises carried 20%, and attendance was the remaining 20%. The aim was a well rounded student after taking my class.

5. Invest in education infrastructure. Every child in any Nigerian secondary school should have a laptop. High quality school buildings, learning environment and other learning aids are critical for superior education.

6. Invest in higher pay for teachers, and restore the teaching profession to the pride of place it once had in Nigeria, and as it has in countries like South Korea and Finland where teaching is one of the most respected and prestigious professions.

Finally, we need a public-private venture capital fund of at least N1 trillion to invest in new ventures that graduates of our educational institutions with technical, artistic or entrepreneurship skills wish to set up. This will close the circle, from education to jobs .

MAYE TO OONI....
HIS LOVE FOR HIS COMMUNITY STRUCK ME —Dr. Ramon Adedoyin, Maye of Yoruba land

#You must have read or heard a lot of things about the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade. As someone who was close to him, what are those things that you think people ought to know about him but which are still left untold?

:One thing that struck me about him was his love for the community. Oba Okunade loved Ile-Ife so much that I doubt if there is any other person that loves the town like he did. Unfortunately, there were distractions which did not allow him achieve most of his plans. For instance, the detractions from warmongers of Ile Ife were quite huge then. One of his dreams was the creation of Oduduwa state. But he couldn’t achieve it. Unfortunately, all these distractions were coming at the early period of his reign, just because some of our neighbours never wanted him.

#What are those legacies of his that you would want retained in Yorubaland?

:He wanted Ife to be a developed city, and at the same time wanted peaceful co-existence. I remember when he appointed me as a member of Ife-Modakeke Peace Committee; he told me that he was giving me the appointment because of my deep love for Ile Ife. At the meeting, I remember telling him and other members of the committee that I had an empirical formula to solving Ife-Modakeke crisis permanently. They all stood up and clapped and poured encomiums on me. When I told them what I considered the honest way to go in solving crisis, the Modakeke people, who were at the meeting stood up and left in annoyance, blaming themselves for attending the meeting. Oba Sijuwade then called me and said ‘who sent you on such errand? You are the most prominent son of Ife. You have all your businesses in Ile Ife. Why did you disorganise the meeting with your fake empirical formula?’ I told him, ‘Kabiyesi, I was only saying the truth sir.’ It was then he covered his face with a book. Then he started soliloquising that I was actually saying the bitter truth. Again he said to himself ‘I wanted to turn Ile Ife to London, brought plenty of my properties, plenty money, connections and others. But where are they now? Look at my Motel Royal. Look at my Sijuwade Estate.’ When he realised I was still standing in front of him, he quickly said, ‘go go go.’ This was the only time the late Sijuwade was annoyed with me.

#Oba Sijuwade was a man of many parts. What was that attribute of his that you found most attractive?

:He was a great man who brought connections, businesses and other amenities to the people of Ile Ife.

#He was regarded generally in Yorubaland with reverence while alive. From your relationship with him what would you say are some of the traits made him stand out?

:He dressed uniquely in the committee of Obas. His style of fashion stood him out in those days. No fraudulent thing was traceable to him.

#While many have described the late Oba Okunade as a life changer, some have seen him as humility personified. What would be your own description of the traditional ruler?

:He was an epitome of respect and an embodiment of humility. He was also a giver. He was an uncommon manager of Ife affairs, and that is why till date the Ife people still respect him.

#What aspect of his life do you cherish most and what should he be remembered for?

:He was always in Oduduwa University graduation ceremonies. Even when he took ill, he still came and asked his loving son, Prince Aderemi to address the public. We have missed him at OUI. He was our first Chancellor.

#What are your goodwill messages to his family, especially his children?

:I want to let them know that Oba Okunade Sijuwade is still very much around. He still lives. He’s still inside that palace. What he has done for me, I have not done it for any Ife indigene. The powers that he gave to me are still here. I have not abused them.

THE FUTURE OF OUR YOUTHS.. Dr Ramon Adedoyin

WAEC Cancellation Puts Nigerians at maximum Risk.

As a father and large investor in the Educational sector, I wish to lay the fact that the Nigerian government’s policy of unilaterally cancelling the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, held annually by the West African Examinations Council, is not in Nigeria’s best interest.

At a time of the global COVID19 pandemic, it is understandable that an abundance of caution be put in place to save lives. However, caution, without consultation, and thoughtful action, may be counter productive.

2.5 million Nigerian youths write the West African Senior School Certificate Examination annually. To abruptly cancel this examination is to set back our nation’s youth, and place them behind their contemporaries in other West African nations. This is perilous, because Foreign Direct Investments and other economic indicators, are tied to the educational indexes of nations.

Already, Nigeria lags behind other African nations in crucial indices, like school enrolment, pass rates, and out of school children. This action, will further create chaos in the public education system and exacerbate an already bad situation.

Rather than cancellation, there are better ways to protect the health of Nigerians and prevent the pandemic from escalating. We could mobilise all available public and private infrastructures including primary schools, stadia, and cinemas, for the examinations. In the alternative, the Federal Government can prevail on WAEC to have a staggered examinations with a different set of questions for each shift. Doing so will allow WAEC Nigeria implement social distancing and achieve the goal of carrying out the examinations. A win-win scenario.

I urge this administration to take into account that the lives they are trying to save will be further put at risk, because if this policy is not reversed, tens of thousands, and possibly hundreds of thousands of Nigerians, will breach social distancing rules to cross over to neighbouring West African nations to write their WASSCE, rather than miss a year.

Let’s Work To Promote Love, Mutual Respect, Peace And Tolerance In Nigeria.

Since February when the incident case of the novel corona virus emerged in Nigeria, life has not been the same for us all. Our economic and social lives have been seriously disrupted.

The essence of the Eid el Kabir festivities is a reminder of a life of service as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and encouraged by Prophet Muhammed (SAW). In this season of a virus pandemic, we should acknowledge that part of the sacrifices required of us is adherence to instructions and protocols towards the containment of the spread of the corona virus.

And, as Muslims in Nigeria celebrate Eid el Kabir Sallah, it is my hope that we will continue to pray for the country and work assiduously for the promotion of love, mutual respect, peace and tolerance in order to build a stronger and more united country.

I believe that despite our diversity, we can transform our differences into strength by identifying the common interests and issues that bind us together.

Yes, we may have been born different, but religious differences shouldn't be allowed to lead to acrimony and antagonism among fellow Nigerians.

It is incumbent on all political leaders, too, to increase their connectivity with the ordinary people because if they (leaders) are not in touch with the conditions of the people, it might be difficult to assess the success or failure of given policies.

May the blessing of Allah fill your life with peace, joy and good health. Barka Da Sallah.
