Honestly I admire northern governors in every aspect except education sector. Our leaders down south will only blame one northerner, religion or political party for their failures yet we the so called educated followers will keep on voting for failure because we hate the people in other party.

Edited for those who raised issues about what I wrote up here.

@ tribalistseun, @ Blazebond, @ Bolowolowo, @staffofOrayan and others.

It's is funny as we southerner still have prejudice about North and I'm sure many of you have not been to Northern part of Nigeria b4, in terms of infrastructures, they are far ahead of South. Funny things is that many who find their ways to the north will blame past military government for those infrastructures not knowing that 80% of those infrastructures was done by civilian governors while our own governors were busy stealing money and blaming federal government for their own failure. Let's take Kano for example, Kwakwaso did a very good Job turning the face of Kano around while Ganduje also added to it, kastina's infrastructure was done by Yaradua while other added to it. I v been to Gombe, Jigawa, Bauchi, Katsina, Sokoto and I can tell you no state can match them in terms of infrastructure Viz a Viz their monthly allocation/geographical size yet many of the southern part especially southsouth that collects huge allocation has little to show for it. Some of you claimed that their IGR is low therfore they are not performing, this makes me laugh because they still manage to outperform the so called high IGR state and for reference sake, your IGR income does not prove your performance, it is just what your state generates.
Lastly somebody claimed education is the key, yes it is the key but I only fault them for not doing anything serious to encourage their children to school but they are far better than most southern states in terms of education investment apart from Rivers state which was done during Ameachi's term, check average school in the north and compare it with average school in south, you will see the difference. If not for success, how will you guys know how bad the schools in delta is. I know all this things because I was once a consultant to MDGs and I v traveled round this country to see what each state has in terms of minimum development requirement which are Education, health, agriculture, water, infrastructure etc
From my MDGs assessment, I can gladly tell you the worst kind of leaders comes from middlebelt state, Kogi, kwara, benue, Niger, Nassarawa but pleatue is excluded while the next in the award is Southsouth states particularly Bayelsa, followed by Delta, cross river while Akwa ibom and rivers are excluded, the next is Southeast.
I know we are good at denying the fact and reality on ground but does that help? You can deny you have eaten just because you don't want neighbours to laugh at you, but who is hungry? Is it your neighbour.
I'm not saying they are good Viz a viz international standard but in the mist of mad people dancing naked in the market, the only person that wears boxer or pants will be considered OK.

Oga @GAZZUZ

Please i need help...My bro took my Toyota Tundra 2008 out and one of the hoses came out..the one from the radiator to the engine but he did not notice..He brought the car back home without noticing it...I took the car out an immedeately noticed when the car stopped that the temperature was on red and packed...i fi xed the hose and pured water after d engine had cooled down and it started continued only for the emperature to go up again..i got a mechanic to get a new longer hose and pushed it home but the car wont start again and while trying battery went down and water was there...

Now mechanic says d gasket has burnt which i dont trust this lagos mechnic at all...can it burn when there is water inside the engine or had burnt when the first water went out?

If i want to fix this gasket?please what would it cost me

Urgent response would be appreciated.
open the radiator coolant reservoir cover, make sure there's water inside, get someone to tryna start d start car.
if the water bubbles out at d process of trying to start d engine......Gasket don burn be that.
a quick technique use to determine burnt head gasket in most vehicles.

Hey, I'm not here to quarrel with u.
I've built a hotel, I designed it.
I've built a catheral church, I designed it.
A double 4 storey building is now ongoing in anambra, I designed it.
Need to say more?
I've also sold so many building plans.
Architecture is a course that should be merged into building or even civil engineering cool
go and merge it oga merger.
you think it's all about listening to music and drawing lines in d studio?
for your info architecture students study structures and building construction for 3-4 years in undergraduate school alone but we don't brag about it. and most reason architects don't depends structural works is because we have a 10credit load course in design studio (which is d highest in all university courses)

Its only a country with improper regulations like Nigeria that an Architect think they can compete with Builders in the construction industry. I’m a Civil Engineer currently working in a building construction company and I’d say i totally agree to the fact that Architects are the first point of contact at the drafting stage or a project but normally don’t have much business on site and DO NOT have the license to construct.

The best they can do is to become client side project managers that attend client meetings and can only supervise at intervals to ensure the work is being done in accordance to the approved drawings and specifications.

A builder on the other hand is fully trained to know the A-Z of buildings in regards to structural calculations, building quantity estimations, procurement, building regulations/compliance's (VERY IMPORTANT), contract administration (payment terms, due dates, completion date, progress claims etc.), site management and construction project management which gives them an huge edge over Architects.

I am currently pursuing a second degree in Construction management degree (Building Technology + Project management) and can categorically tell you that we were taught drafting using REVIT/Archicad alongside the Architecture students in our first year which gives us more edge because we acquired the required skills to design and draft low to high rise buildings in additions to building/construction project management skills.

OP should study Architecture only if he truly has a passion for it…but generally speaking, Building is far more versatile and will open more doors if you’re smart, ready to learn and humble enough to work your way up.
if truly u re a civil engr. as u claim, then its surprising and sympathetic how u can stand so low and claim dt a builder can effortlessly do d job of a civil engr.
am an Architect, so I will speak for myself. having d knowledge of autocad/revit doesn't make u a master designer(architect). because autocad is just a computer aided software that enables u draft with d computer instead of hand drafting.
Perhaps u re working with draft men in your so called organizations that makes you belittle an Architect.
in a sane country like dubai or usa or uk, do u think a builder can stand a utter a word where an Architect is?
lastly, have you watch the making of burj arab hotel? if not, pls do, that will help u alot in distinguishing d roles of professionals in high tec construction

Hey, pls study building. That's the best course you can ever study compared to Architecture. I studied building too. U will know how to design, construct and plan for a project from beginning to the end. Building is all about building production and management. As a builder you can design your buildings yourself although that's the work of the architect. You can be a quality manager, facility manager, construction manager, cost manager, health and safety manager. All will be taught within the space of 5 years. Pls learn all you can. God bless U
'as a builder, u can design ur building'
do u even know d concept of design?
oh how I wish u are close to me so I can give u a simple brief n see how you will go abt it

2)structural/civil engr
3)quantity surveyor

Building.
U can easily learn architecture after u're done with building by applying for the CAD programs.
I studied civil engineering, n later learned how to draw project buildings.
So, I'm now a civil engineer/architect cool
just negodu how u disgrace urself in public.
so you think your NON-FUNCTIONAL RESIDENTIAL drawing now makes you an Architect?
can you rightly design a functional an airport or a state art international conference center?
please don't limit the work of an Architect to just 3/4/5 bedrooms residential development

your thermostat is like a tap head, it allows water to flow or not to flow.the only way to determine if it is faulty is to remove it and throw it into a boiling pot of water. You will see it physically open when the water starts boiling @ 100 deg.
Any mechanic who tells you to remove waht came with your car and by pass it is a quack, run away.
Your fan is controled by a sensor that read teh temperature iether from the radiator and Engine, so if Engine is hot and fan refuses to come on then your coolant temp sensor is dead as this picks up readings after your thermostat allows hot water to flow past it.
that's why I want to restore back d thermostat. any idea on what to look at for when buying a new one?

How did they come to the conclusion the thermostat was bad?
I was told temperature was high, fan wasn't spinning, there was water in d reservoir. was told they checked they water pump n was also working. and that when they removed the thermostat, temperature went back to normal.

I wish to restore back my dad 406 D9 EW10 thermostat. the old thermostat was faulty thus it was removed instead of replaced thereby connecting d fan to start spinning immediately d car is started.
2ndly I noticed the gearbox makes a vibrating noise when d car is started but stop when the clutch is pressed. the mechanic said d gearbox need to be changed..., am not okay with his insertion considering it's the follow-come gearbox.
the 406 is 6years old not having any issue except the gearbox and ofcos the thermostat.

When a mechanic handles your car away from home, it will never be the same.

Even Golf 3 has serious electrical problems which if not handled we becomes a nightmare to the car owner. But it's widely used for commercial purposes.
are you now agreeing to the fact that its not the vehicle nor the manufacturer at fault here but the road side mechanic?
