In my own opinion,i think 1m would be just enough to come up with a working prototype that can be copied and mass produced..

Will the machine handle decking too for duplexes and town houses?
yes it can. The limit would be one storey building for now, untill i make the gantry more taller to accomodate two storey buildings.

Explaining the building process.

Lets take a look at the diagram below. It is the wall of a building, undergoing construction. The german floor is the slab underneath the blocks. Take note of the way the blocks are placed.
To have a machine that can be coded to build a wall, just like the wall in the above pix. And have it do it just exactly the same way the blocks are placed and the concrete holds them. The machine should be able to do the things i am going to explain and illustrate with some diagrams below.

Can such machine be used for large scale building construction, like seeking estate developers to get contract from them?
The machine can be used for large scale building construction. Not tall skyscrapers. In terms of seeking estate developers to get contract from them, that is just where the machine fits.

Confirm you are talking of a 3D printer for designing and drawing building architecture or you mean a physical, mechanical machine (device) that could be used in constructing and erecting an habitable structure?
Yea, i mean a physical mechanical machine that could be used in constructing and erecting a habitable structure.

Hi, greetings. Am kingsley obinna, from Abia state.
I have a bussines proposal. The deal is; you sponsor my bussines proposal, and we'll split the future profit 50%- 50% for life.

So whats the bussiness all about?

Its all about a 3D machine that builds a house..
Have you ever wondered about a machine that could build a house from ground level to roofing level here in Nigeria? There is'nt such machine here although, but there are such abroad but scarce. They are called 3D house printing machine.
I have the technical know-how to build such machine here in nigeria, but my hands are tied. This isn't rocket science, the technology abounds everywhere.
All the required technical paper work and blueprints are done.
The way i've done the maths, this bussines would need between 1m or less..

This bussines proposal is all about sponsoring the manufacturing of a 3D house printing machines here in Nigeria, and selling it. Or better yet hiring it to the apropriate firms. That will be up to us to decide later.
I don't need cash. I could tell you the materials i need and you could get them. The important thing is to get the job done. It doesnt need any special dedicated workshop.
The crux of the issue is that, i've got started on the project, and am going to build a 3D house printer.
This machine will be capable of building a standard family house from the german floor level to the roofing level, without direct human labour involvement.

I have an ongoing thread on it in nairaland that chronicles the technicle details here: https://www.nairaland.com/2208205/making-3d-house-printer-nigeria

I can honestly tell you i have the engineering, electronic and programming experience to get the job done.
In previous years, i've had to undertake various projects directly related to mechanics, electronics, electricity, programming and automation, so i know what am doing.
I've done things like model gas turbine engine, that was in 2007. Although unfinished, this gas turbine engine won me 1st price in Abia state, in a competion sponsored by Notap (national office for technology acquisition).
In 2009, i also undertook a project on model steam turbine engine for electricity production. Although on a small scale,it was a success.
Then in 2009, i embarked on an infrared security system. This was pure electronics. What the gadget did was establish a beam of infra red, with a sensor monitoring the status of the beam. When an intruder passes the beam, the obstructs the established beam that the sensor sensers. Thus the alarm gets thriggerd and remains latched untill a hiden reset button is depressed. It was also a success but that was as far as i could go,cos there was'nt any sponsor. I had to shelve it.
I've also built a mobile solar charger, with a capability of charging 68 mobile phones at once. I had a thread on it on Nairaland but lost that thread when nairaland had a cyber attack by hackers.
In 2010, i went into aircrafts. I bludgeoned into building a radio control helicopter. It took me two years and a half to build something that could fly and be controlled wirelessly. I had a 15 page thread on it in nairaland. If you have the time to spare you can take a look at it. The thread chronicles the beginning of the projects, the sweat, the so many trials and errors, the perseverance and the prototypes that finally gave birth to a succesful helicopter that finally flew. That was in page 8 of the thread. It can be found here: https://www.nairaland.com/1307261/homebuilt-radio-controlled-helicopter

Suffice me to say that, this 3D machine would yield nice bussiness prospects for you and me,if you can have the foresight.
Seeing as Nigeria is a developing country, houses are being built everyday but manually by hand.. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a machine do that. The advantages sticks out like a boil.
The reduction in the capital needed to build a house will allow those with a very low income to own a houses. The little time its going to take to build a house will be promising in areas with a natural disaster, whereby it wouldnt take long to put up large number of buildings to shelter large influx of refugees. These are are two great benefits. Suffice me to say that, it would also create direct employment.

Please with due respect, if my proposal doesn't interests you, you can silently bow out,pls do not say negative things about it in regards to a typical Nigerian mentality and stereotyping. No hard feelings..

STEP AND DIRECTION
These step motor drives accept step pulses and direction/enable signals from a controller, such as a PLC or PC. Each step pulse causes the motor to rotate a precise angle, with the frequency of the pulses determining the speed of rotation. The direction signal determines the direction of rotation (CW or CCW), while the enable signal turns the motor on or off.

STAN-ALONE MODE OPERATION.
In a stand-alone mode the indexer can operate independent of the host computer. Once downloaded to the non-volatile memory, motion programs can be initiated from various types of operator interfaces, such as a keypad or touchscreen, or from a switch through the auxiliary I/O inputs.

To make a stepper motorwork, you need to use the following:
1.a stepper driver chip or
2.a microcontroller and, optionally, one or two full h-bridgechips.
STEPPER DRIVERS
The stepper motor driver receives step and direction signals from the indexer or control system and converts them into electrical signals to run the step motor. One pulse is required for every step of the motor shaft.
These chips keep the power that drives the motors separate from the power that is on the arduino. The arduino can't provide enough juice to power the stepper motors directly. This is why you have to use separate chips to sort of act as valves that control how the motor spins.

STEPPER MOTOR ADVANTAGES
1.The rotation angle of the motor is proportional to the input pulse.
2.The motor has full torque at standstill (if the windings are energized).
3.Precise positioning and repeatability of movement since good stepper motors have an accuracy of 3 to 5% of a step and this error is non-cumulative from one step to the next.
4.Excellent response to starting/stopping/reversing.
5.Very reliable since there are no contact brushes in the motor. Therefore the life of the step motor is simply dependent on the life of the bearing.
6.The stepper motors response to digital input pulses provides open-loop control, making the motor simpler and less costly to control
.
7.It is possible to achieve very low speed synchronous rotation with a load that is directly coupled to the shaft.
8.A wide range of rotational speeds can be realized as the speed is proportional to the frequency of the input pulses.

Now let me throw some light on stepper motors, because this is the motor i shall be making use of,to control every single axis movement in my machine.

A stepper motor is a brushless, synchronous electric motor that converts digital pulses into mechanical shaft rotation. This kind of electric motor is used in the robotics industry.
Every revolution of the stepper motor is divided into a discrete number of steps, in many cases 200 steps, and the motor must be sent a separate pulse for each step. The stepper motor can only take one step at a time and each step is the same size. Since each pulse causes the motor to rotate a precise angle, typically 1.8°, the motor's position can be controlled without any feedback mechanism.
Because stepper motors move a known interval for each pulse of power, these pulses of power are provided by a stepper motor driver and is referred to as a step. As each step moves the motor a known distance it makes them handy devices for repeatable positioning.
