crownprince2017: Pls I need your insights on the decision below
Does it make economic sense to swap jaiz for access now looking at both valuations?
Your kind response will be appreciated. Jaiz pays a paltry dividend as well, so in the near term Access should be better. Consider entering it at a more favourable price though. |

abuhusna1: Can I be issued with my oando right issues if I buy more than my holdings. In the case of chams I had 10000 units and I was able to buy right issue of 800,000 units Did you mean 100,000? Because 800,000 is 80x what you posted above; that would have been extremely generous of the company. |

Isiahnaija01: Thanks for setting this up. We really need accurate signals in this current market climate. My main worry right now is inflation eating up dividends before they even land. I’m constantly checking the black-market FX rates here https://abokidollar.com/black-market-rate to see if my stock gains are actually 'real' gains in dollar terms or if I’m just breaking even.
Do you have any picks specifically for companies with low FX exposure?
Let’s keep this thread active. You're 13 years late. Lol |

chimex38: I believe Market Makers actions can be justified at times. Though it's still subject to abuse. Not entirely defending them.
Take a case of PRESCO, when it was said that their farm was attacked few years ago or the governor has revoked their CEO. These things can pull the market price down by retailers driven by panic or unverifiable news.. (except PRESCO was already a high cap stock with less liquidity)
Also, without MM, people can conjure news and spread, so as to pull a stock down or up. Before any debunking by the Organization, it may be late or price takes time to claw back allowing the mischievous people to take positions while it lasts. This can also affect credibility ot NGX as a whole.
Also, I believe companies use their market price via Marker capitalization to drive businesses and win contracts as the case may be. If their "enemies/rivals" can cause undervaluation by taking SP down to create bottle necks in the contract negotiation process.. MM can rescue such companies.
Then again, a company might want to go into the debt market, via commercial paper or bonds and present a forcasted market return, sell their forecasted enterprise value using market capitalization amongst other metrics to get a favourable Interest rate and get a buy-in from creditors.. ....It will be fool-hardy if the share price rises up to the forecasted price before the deal is even made.. This can happen due to leaks and tip offs, driving the share price higher before the debt is even deployed issued and deployed to create organic growth. MM working on be-half of the company will have to depress their share price that is rising or tending to rise to prevent retailers affecting their business operation strategy through inorganic rise in price.
In this cases, I think the MM are correcting the price rather than manipulating the price. These are just my assumptions
But I get that abuse also coexist. It's how to regulate it that matters for NgxRegCo. Quite valid and enlightening points you've made here. Cheers. |

The only thing I hate about manipulation is watching it from the sideline.
SCOA is the definition of scarcity, like most "manipulation" stocks.
Also you can see I'm putting manipulation in quotes because I'm not sure if it's real or not. Unfortunately, I can't edit the picture but the word corruption there is in quote oo! Lol

Another option you could consider is selling N number of shares to retrieve your capital and let the profit 'run' In that case the formula changes to N = P - [P {(171.05 +y)-69} / (171.05 +y)] |
