Streetinvestor2:I think say na only me that company called witchcraft do strong thing. Lol. And when I eventually managed to transfer my stock, I ended up with a second account with the new brokers even though they had promised to 'merge' them at the end of the day. |
Zeewirld:Contact a stockbroker of your choice and they will process it for you. You'll be provided with several forms, one of which will ask you to list the quantity of the different stocks you had purchased with the closed firms. This will enable their transfer to the new brokers you have decided to use. If you don't know your stockholdings, you may need to apply to CSCS for your statement/list of stocks. It may take a few months (or more) after submission of your documents to get them moved to your new brokers. Hope this helps. |
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2026/01/ngx-confirms-listing-of-3-16billion-uba-shares/ … “Following the submission of all post-approval documents, please be informed that United Bank for Africa Plc’s Rights Issue of 3,156,869,665 ordinary shares of 50 Kobo each at N50.00 per share on the basis of one new ordinary share for every 13 ordinary shares held were formally listed on the Daily Official List of Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on , Monday, 12 January 2026”… “… In November 2024, the bank had raised N239 billion, which elevated its capital base to N355 billion at that time, while the recently concluded rights issue has injected an additional N158 billion, bringing the bank’s total capital to N513 billion. This latest influx means UBA’s qualifying capital base now surpasses the N500 billion requirement by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), thereby exceeding the recapitalisation minimum for banks with international authorisation.” |
leo1234:Bros no be you I carry for mind for the post. You have a right to be upset if you believe you’ve been labelled as ‘irresponsible’. I was referring to the series of posts with many acerbic rebuttals prior to yours. Anyone who wants to emphasise a point can do so in a more amicable tone so as to maintain civility and decorum on this thread. |
Dem no dey play with person for this thread again o! Everything na gbas gbos |

Happy Anniversary NSEMPAites!!! 🥂🍾🍻 Today, this page/forum is 13 years old. I thank you all for all your posts. I’ve truly learnt a lot. Meanwhile, is stockbull (the ‘founder’ of this page) still here? |
GeneralDae:These figures are stated in nominal terms, not adjusted for inflation, devaluation or anything else I can observe. We should always view statistics objectively. "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, damned lies, and statistics" - Mark Twain/Benjamin Disraeli |

Valthegreat:Quick back of envelope math: Let's say you end up getting a net total of N4.5m per annum (1.5m and 3m for both flats after deducting agent's fees and all) if the tenants pay regularly and don't damage your property or cause other nuisance, then your income over 15 years is N67.5m with the profit on the N28m being ~ N40m over 15 years (I'll assume there's no significant rent increment and that the property is always occupied). And since it’s a lease, you’ll end up ‘returning’ the property. If put the same amount in an 8% annual compound interest fund over the same period you'll make ~ N88,000,000 with a profit of close to N60m (50% more). You could get more or less with stocks depending on your expertise but probably better than whatever rent you'll get from the property. The choice is yours ![]() |
Harddiskng:You’ve said it all. The ruling class created an impoverished and ignorant citizenry, thereby creating a vicious cycle as those that will replace the leaders will emerge from the same batch of ‘virtuous’ Nigerians. |
essentialone:You no wan make publishers/printers chop? The paper used can still find its way into the circular economy. |

unite4real:Na for Nigerian Spiritual Exchange im see dat one |
SonofElElyonRet:Wetin my eye see na ‘thus saith the Spirit’. Holy no dey in front of Spirit. I don’t think there’s any attribution to the ‘god’ of NGX. It could even mean thus saith my spirit after having some spirit 😂 |
zendi:They just keep on spamming the thread with long posts. |
