Boko Haram reportedly issues dire warning to Christians in Niger leave or be killed

Boko Haram militants reportedly kidnapped a Christian woman whom they later released with a letter for other Christians living nearby: "Leave the town within three days or be killed."

According to Open Doors USA, the woman was taken by Islamic terrorists from the village of Kintchendi in the Diffa region in southeastern Niger on June 7.

Unnamed sources on the ground in Niger told Open Doors that Christians in the region and in other rural areas of Diffa are being told to relocate to the capital city of Niamey. Several families have reportedly already fled the area.

Boko Haram militants have been targeting the region, which borders Nigeria and Chad, since February 2015. As recently as July 2017, the terrorist group reportedly kidnapped 30-40 women and children and executed nine others in the village of Ngalewa.

Despite all this, the president of Nigeria, Muhammad Buhari, declared last year that Boko Haram had been defeated.

"We have since beaten Boko Haram," he said at the time.

In January, Buhari, who was elected in 2015, admitted there have been setbacks in the fight against the massive terrorist organization.

A missile fired by Houthi rebels struck the arrivals hall of an airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, injuring 26 people, a Saudi official said.

Eighteen people were treated at Abha International Airport for minor injuries and another eight were taken to hospital, Turki al-Malki, spokesman of the US-backed Saudi-led coalition battling rebels in Yemen, said in a statement published on Saudi state media.

"Three women, a Yemeni, an Indian and Saudi and two Saudi children were amongst those injured," al-Malki said, adding that "authorities are working on identifying the type of missile that was used..."
