ohaleoghene: Some engineers don't even have job . Abegi , no be naija again ? U gat ready to walk and walk before getting a job . Graduate plenty pass available jobs . My lecturer back then said if anyone thinks getting a degree will fetch him or her good money , then he is a joker! I can never allow my child go study computer science , because someone who went to computer sch will be better off . When I was a student ,the old desktop made available for student is not even enough to go round a class of fiften , let alone a class of 200 . Nigerian university na wash ! My friend travelled abroad to school , he curse everyday that had he known , he wouldn't have wasted four good years in Nigerian all in the name of paper degree which when he got to Canada , he discovered that he was been taught nonsense all the while . Old syllabus. The best is , get education for the worth of it , not for the sake of making money .
you are so much correct. In naija 2day, so much emphasis is laid on jst d paper(qualifications) thereby leavin out d knowledge, competency an individual has gotten. Acquirin knowledge has two sides; 1. Acquirin knowledge for knowledge sake, and 2. Acquirin knowledge for its usefulnes. In our contemporary society, naija in particular education is measured on wat it can pay or offer, thereby judgin sum courses irrelevant 2 d outside wrld. I dnt buy d idea of most of d majors d OP brougt forth. I knw of ppl dat stdyd philosophy n ar wrkn in banks, ministries, embassies, oil companies, multi national firms, lecturin etc.

I understand that ur one desire nw is 2 get a husband 4 urself. But 2 b frank wit u, there are sum married women that are weeping and regreting on why they entered in2 marriage, wishing that they neva got married. Why am i saying this? It seems natural 4 guys and ladies especialy at ur age 2 bcome so obssesed and desperate in2 enterin marriage. Bt i tel u it wont work dat way.
What u hav 2 d first of al is 2 wrk on urself,ur character, personality, etc. If u ar truly lukn 4 a husband 2luv u, u hav 2 make urself luvabl. Do away wit any traits of personality dat may repel ppl away 4rm u. Hw do u present urself in d public? Ur bodylanguage also matas alot and ur dresin. In all, b nice and friendly and u wil draw guys 2urself, where u can nw make a choice. Bt dnt mak urself to seem too needy and desperate. Relax,be calm, live a healthy life, attend responsible social gatherings nt d crazy bar, niteclubs etc.
And lastly, check ur opinion on wo d ideal man is 2u, no man is perfect. Anyway wish u luck!

Romance / Re: Men, Do You Value Intelligence Or Beauty? by Pancho01(m): 10:36am On May 05, 2013
Look at it this way, most single guys will want a beautiful girl just for a short-term relationship not minding if the girl is so dull in the brain. But a guy in entering into marriage will look for a girl with intelligence, so as to help in the running of the affairs of the family.

Family / Wives Are Becoming More Of The Bread Winner Than Husbands by Pancho01(m): 6:53pm On Jan 26, 2013
I remember vividly those things we were taught during those times in our social studies classes. One of those things was the different roles played by members of the family. The father we know is the head and breadwinner of the family; the mother being the manager of the household welfare. But I have observed of late that wives are now acting as breadwinners in the family. There are families I have seen that the women are the ones paying the house rent, providing for the feeding and also in charge of making sure the children school fees were paid. Meanwhile the husbands are the ones washing the children's clothes, and also cooking for the family.

I really want to know your say on this issue because it is something I think that is becoming so rampant. It looks like we are approaching a time in history when women are taking the roles of husbands. It seems to be that wives are relieving men of the curse placed on them at the garden of Eden. What do you really say on this issue.
Romance / Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus by Pancho01(m): 2:56pm On Jan 26, 2013
There is something that has always lingered in my mind, concerning the two separate species of humans; men and women. This has always overwhelmed me looking at their thought patterns and the way they experience the world at large. These two will I say are made differently the same, in a sublime and unique way.

In the creation story, it is said that God fashioned woman using one of the rib bones of Adam. Thereby making Adam to say thus 'At last, here is one of my own kind - bone taken from my bone, and flesh from my flesh'. So it was said that 'woman' was her name because she was taken out of man. This historical experience paved the two paths in which these mysterious of all beings now tread.

In our contemporary society, men are continually bewildered at the way women think. They see themselves always longing to know what women want of them. Women are not left out of this because they themselves are searching for answers as to how and why men usually behave in some certain ways. I have encountered so many women that complain bitterly about their partners in a relationship. They feel sad and so much unfulfilled about the whole situation that they look for where to pour out their frustrations. This I think has been one of the causes of extra-marital affairs, unfaithfulness in a relationship and promiscuity that is now pervasive in our society. A lady I once spoke with, complained that her fiance do not listen to her.

'Whenever I talk to him it seems to me like he does'nt listen. I feel as though my feelings are not validated enough'. Wiping out the tears trickling down from her cheek as she narrated this to me. Some women in a relationship are not happy with their husbands because they feel that their husbands do not care about how they feel. Whenever some of these women try to voice out the little problems affecting the relationship, it only results to making the man withdraw and becoming totally defensive. Thereby relegating the woman to becoming more frustrated than ever. Also men complain about how the women are not tired of talking and how they are so filled with rage whenever their wives voice out their complaints in a relationship. These have been the unending stories that permeates so many relationships that at first seemed cosy and rosy, but later on resulted into minor disagreements, quarrels, and at last the couple going their separate ways.

As I was making research about men and women, I came in contact with a theme that I think most of us will find interesting and also what we fail to realise. Something that really points at the true face of reality. That is 'Men are from mars, women are from Venus'. Yes! This is what we all must come to understand. You may see it as men and women coming from two of the nine or eight planets we have in the universe, another person may see it the other way, but it's all about relative perspectives. The one single messsage here is that men and women are made differently the same in all ramification. I mean their approach towards life, the way they think, feel, express emotions are totally different. It is something good to have this knowledge prior to entering any relationship whatsoever, so as to have the needed emotional competence to be able to handle any setbacks in a relationship.
Men are what I call aliens from mars, while women are also aliens from venus who are constantly in a search to know the other. This is so evident even in the psychological development and growth of boys and girls during childhood. Goleman pointed out that boys are threatened by anything that might challenge their independence, while girls are more threatened by a rupture in their relationship. Boys at a certain age in life feel the need to be independent, they are always wanting to solve their problems by themselves that they feel bad if someone tries to help. Girls feel the need for communion and intimacy that whenever they face a problem, they need friends to help talk things over with. That is why women talk more when they are sad or upset while men withdraw to themselves in order to be able to tackle that problem by themselves.

A research about the two emotional life of both boys and girls revealed a picture of the way boys in a primary school related with themselves and also how girls related with themselves. Boys while playing football may not hesitate to keep playing if one of them looks partially bruised. But girls may stop to try to show compassion and sympathy on a wounded playmate of theirs.
There is really much to put down concerning men and women and how they think and feel. But there is still something about why men are from mars women are from venus. For women, intimacy means talking things over, especially talking about the relationship itself. Women are endowed with rich emotional competence. This enables them into trying to make things work in a relationship. They are the emotional manager men should not fail to acknowledge. To be continued...
