Phones › Re: Netflix Is A Waste Of Money? by Pangea: 7:50am On Jan 11, 2016 |
DanjaNinja: Wrong. I live in the US with unlimited internet and I can confidently tell you his analysis is correct. On 720p, a one hour video will cost you at least 2.6GB. HD (1080p upwards) which is twice the size of 720p, consumes even more data. Meaning a 2hr full HD movie would consume more than 8Gb of data.
If you doubt me, I will post screenshots to confirm his statement.
When the Netflix in Nigeria announcment was made, my initial reaction was "which data are you gonna watch movies with"?
Until fast affordable internet is made, massive full scale streaming video in Nigeria is but a pipe dream.
P.s: in most advanced countries, internet is delivered to most homes via copper cables, fibre optics and telephone lines. Meaning a hard line directly connected to the ISP's. I know you have heard wifi is everywhere in the us. Thing is, the Wifi only serves as a means of connecting users to these hard lines. So the bulk of most internet acces actually go through these hard lines. GSM and wimax networks are seriously discouraged and rarely used for internet access here. The reverse is the case in Nigeria. Almost all our internet is wireless. For internet access, wireless is inefficient and expensive. If Nitel had built phone lines to every home in Nigeria we would have fast affordable internet right now. Ntel is coming and they better come fast with unlimited and cheap internet |
Christianity Etc › Re: 6 Laws Broken By Jesus Christ In The Bible by Pangea: 1:04pm On Jan 10, 2016 |
ikbnice: In the Bible, Jesus broke some laws:
1. He first broke the law of biology by coming to this world through a virgin. If you ask a doctor they will tell you it is impossible.
2. He broke the law of chemistry by turning water to wine.
3. He broke the law of physics by walking on sea.
4. He broke the law of economics by feeding 5,000 people with just 5 loafs and 2 fishes.
5. He also disagreed to mathematics which say 1+1+1 = 3 instead he said 1+1+1 is equal to 1 ( TheTrinity ).
6. He broke the law of nature, he died and came back alive.
And He shall break any law binding you down for a miraculous turn-around for greatness. click LIKE if you believe. Wow |

NaijaProxyBase: Cant you see he was smiling ? Judging from his posture and the other guy, it clearly shows he was put inside the cell to snap picture not necessarily mean he slept there. This picture is actually a last ditch effort on the part of the prison authority to save face, and to project that he slept in the cell and not in the office as alleged before in the previous report. This act again has indicted the foolish prison head! How did a smartphone get into the prison? These people think Nigerians are foolish, abi? Anyway, it also show that the powers that be reads nairaland! |
