😂😂 This is so funny. How kids find out scam is how they start growing up. We are in the season of Christmas, when kids find the truth about Santa, it just changes them. Innocence lost.

Things you should be worried about

1. Boredom
2. Health
3. Accidents

Everything else, don't worry about it. Someone who has lived over 60 is not new to life so leav all the fears about cold. Yes, she is old and you have to understand that it comes with frailty but people telling you to postpone it don't know about your personal life, which you may never tell us. Life can happen anytime and I like that someone told you how other old people have been there to do omugwo. Don't inherit someone else's fears. Nigerians tend to project and they think what happened to them will happen to everyone else. They then start to scare you with their own experiences.

What will she do? I think you said you have enough time. Share this experience with her and enjoy it. You never know when next you'll see her. Even if it was summer and you were going out, you'll spend money on trips and less with family. Use this time for bonding but let her experience the weather when it is safe. Don't lock her up and don't turn her to your PA. Yes, your mom won't say no but it's not right to start giving your parents work just because they are around. Take care of them and just put your mind into this period of taking care of another adult. Enjoy the moments. She can easily be bored if she has nothing to do or she just keeps watching T.V. Prepare events indoor and outdoor for her during this period. There are programs for elderly people, at their age, they make friends easily but you should expose her instead of keeping her at home. This woman has lived 6 decades in Nigeria, she will miss the problems of Nigeria even if she complains about them. Let her enjoy new experiences to prevent boredom. Keep her busy with activities.

Health is something everyone else has told you what to do but if she's fit enough, let her join fitness classes for old people. This is how they have fun and make new friends. I am sure you may be wondering if you can do this but let me tell you, old people love their retirement as long as there's no trouble. Staying at home too much or not doing anything can affect her health. I know I said you shouldn't give her chores to do. Find out what she loves to do that helps both her mental and phsyical health.

She needs to be safe. Depending on where you live, let her know the dos and donts. Let her know that not everyone she sees is normal, give her safety tips but don't scare her too much. This may sound weird but ask ChatGpt what she needs to do. I have been close to old guys and one of them did this for his 90 yo mom. Some oyinbo too take care of their aged parents and figure a way around it. Taking care of one's parents is a blessing and we don't know when next we meet. Make sure she enjoys the experience. Prepare a diary full of events, have backup and space them so that she remembers the experience. Before she knows it, she'll ne surprised how time went so fast.

NBS is the propaganda arm of any Nigerian government, so I won't be surprised if they manage to cook out statistics in 2025 to show that inflation has dropped to 10%... Yet, Nigerians must not forget the prices of everything when Tinubu was sworn in versus prices of everything by the end of 2025. Calculate the inflation within that timeframe yourself. Don't allow NBS to mislead you with their fake statistics.
This is dangerous but when I heard some analysts blaming NBS for releasing the kidnapping stats, someone reminded them that if you don't, those foreign guys will release it and the government will have to be defending itself. So if NBS lies, it will lose all credibility, it's not worth it if they politicize it. Truth will come out.

What are they talking about?

Is it a TV, radio station or podcast?

I just read the first post, I am not a fan of Reno but if you think this hustle will not pay off, I pity you, it will. You know why? Judging from the OP's tweets, they don't seem to understand that it is not an award but an aggregate. Ruto was most talked about because of the protest. Reno talks on almost any issue online and these politicians don't care. They loved to be talked about, because being talked about is currency to them. So even if you see the chart as nonsense, they will see it as an asset and it will help him in the position he is looking for. I thought Portable would've made the list too.

Romance › Re: Is Loneliness The Price I Will Pay To Become A Successful Woman? by papyjaypaul: 3:37am On Dec 20, 2024
Should I tell you the worst thing? Once a man has seen that there is no need to provide, he stops hustling. He becomes mentally lazy, not totally his fault but because of the conditioning. He doesn't see the need anymore. There is already security and this thing pisses women off because they still expect him to work hard and make money. They call him deadbeat and write him off. This same man will see a poor girl and work hard to elevate her. When the man is beneath her, she does not see his worth even if he is trying his best. She also starts seeing the man as a leech not because he is, but because she is performing the role of provider. Men can provide without attaching too much emotions to it. Women are cunning in their finances. They don't mind taking care of their family members and other emotional stuff but it makes her crazy when she is doing the work of provider and caregiver. A woman would rather bea single mom and know that she is the only one taking care of the family than to have a man who is around and not doing anything.

That's the nature of men. I just want you to ask yourself if you are very sure you can live with it. Don't think when I am giving you these examples, I am talking about poor men. I am talking about men who are millionaires and their wives are millionaires too.

It takes a wise woman to manage her ego and her household when she outearns him and before you get married, discuss with the guy you want to marry and check their family if they are confident people or they are small minded.

Romance › Re: Is Loneliness The Price I Will Pay To Become A Successful Woman? by papyjaypaul: 3:14am On Dec 20, 2024
I see some people quoting Professors, whose husband are already intelligent people and have some sense. What about
Funke Akindele
Folorunso Alakija
Tiwa Savage etc

I am just giving you the flip side of the coin.

Men like to provide and whether you like it or not, it takes a self confident man not to be intimidated by your wealth. It's just the way the game is, except you want to be a second wife or something like that where you will not be in his life too much. Women in the past used to do this but that was because the extended family system was strong and they wanted to preserve the family. I am not discouraging you, I encourage you to go for what you want but this is human nature and reality.

Women are not inspired by men who are not up to their standards. Women marry up for a reason. It is in their nature to have a man who can provide security and if the woman is already doing it, it will cause problems. Women want that confidence from men and if unfortunately, his work does not pay off, it will affect him and the house.

Today women are earning more than men and we are seeing the results. If the man is okay with being a home dad, please accept it that way and don't complain but many times, we see that once women can do what men do, they don't see your worth anymore and it is usually difficult for that woman to respect the man. What does he bring to the table? You are already the table.

parkervero:
I want to ask if there is any married men in here who have formed their own families without involving their family members (mother, father, and siblings).

Is there any consequences for not involving family members?

I don't want to involve any of my family members in any of my affairs including the time of difficulty, sickness, even to the point of my death.

I want to stay on my own till eternity
It is possible to have a family without involving other people. Our soldiers went to Liberia and Sierra Leone and they had women who gave birth to them. We have men who had another family and it was on the burial date that the other woman with her kids came. So it is possible.

Your question may be due to the family problems you have but you can try to tell us more about it. The worst that will happen is that they know you exist but not connected to you. We have cousins who don't talk to each other because the parents cut off the ties or they have beef. But guess what? The cousins did not care about it, they said they are not inheriting beef that's not their own. It is just the way we had tribalism by our parents and they said don't marry someone from this or that side. The kids don't care about that!

It shows that all we are today is what we have been brainwashed with. If you are good, you will do good.

Family is the only people that care about you when you die. That's life for you. Who will be affected by this decision to cut off family?

1. Your wife: As a man, I always advise women to never be with a man who doesn't have anyone he revers. That guy will kill you without thinking 2x. He has no one to parent him or counsel him. This was the role of the elders in the past. Women are vulnerable when it comes to marriage. Such a man's power will notbe checked because he will believe he is alpha and omega.

2. Your kids: are you seeing those DNA stories coming out? Our elders were not dumb when they insisted that marriage was between 2 families. They had to investigate the other side to be sure that it is not the prodigal son coming back to take their daughter or vice versa where siblings are getting married. Your kids will only see their ancestry on paper. As a man, one of the things men want to leave behind is a legacy. Your kids will see life the way you project life to them. Your actions will be what will make them see the need for marriage or not. Why do I need my dad when my dad cut off his dad? Leadership by example sir wink

3. Your legacy: I can't write too much here but let me tell you something that happens to men who didn't know their dads. They will go find the man at a point in time. There is something missing in their lives. Men at a point in time will start setting up the way they want to leave this world. Trust me, it will come when you start having kids. Men are builders and there is something in them that makes them interested in structure.

4. You: I am not in any way trying to convince you. I am just having an adult discussion with you. Your last line reminds me of someone I know like you. Men go through stress and they set boundaries but I think you need therapy to go through this. Why? Because adults go into marriages with unresolved baggages. It is when they live with others they start to see it. Now, this my friend was not like you but i saw the signs. He couldn't handle conflict. I saw how he'll tell his family and his in-laws off just because they were overstepping their boundaries. I told him then that these things are expected, they are people and manage conflicts. Instead, he shut them down. People like this only need to look into the mirror, they think it's about others all the time. Sometimes, it's also them too. They can't manage conflict and this world is about conflict, we have to find a way to face it and deal with it.
