Health / How To Make Homemade Mosquito Trap by Papzey(f): 1:04pm On Jun 29, 2017
In some parts of the world, mosquitoes only turn up during the summer when the weather is warmer. But in many parts of Africa, during the summer/dry and raining season, mosquitoes are always everywhere. This may be due to the lack of proper mosquito control. Dirt and rubbish are left untreated in many slums in Africa, with little or no sewage control, poor drainage systems and no proper environmental sanitation. This blog post aims to show our readers how to make a homemade mosquito trap. And this is considered as one of the best homemade mosquito killers.

Have you noticed the Mosquitos are already out with full force? You can make a Mosquito Trap that really works. Below is how to make home remedy mosquito catcher help keep you and your family members or housemates from being a blood donor.

Recipe for homemade mosquito trap:

A. 1 cup (200ml) of water

B. 1/4 cup (60ml) of brown sugar

C. 1 gramme (1ml) of yeast

D. 2 litre bottle

DIY: Homemade Mosquito Trap

How to make homemade mosquito catcher:

1. First, cut the plastic bottle in half.

2. Second, put brown sugar (60ml) in hot water (200ml) and mix together. Allow cooling. When the solution is cold, put in the bottom half of the bottle.

3. Now, add the yeast (1ml). You do not need to mix. This produces carbon dioxide, which attracts mosquitoes.

4. Place the top part (that looks like a funnel) upside down, into the other (bottom) half of the bottle, then tape them together if you wish.

5. Wrap the bottle with a black material (Mosquitoes are drawn to the colour black), but do not cover the top. Now, place it somewhere away from your usual gathering area.

Note: Make sure to change the solution every 2 weeks for continuous control.

Conclusion: Mosquitoes are dangerous insects because they carry and transmit virus that gives humans Malaria. Malaria is one of the illnesses with the highest number of human casualties, especially in Africa. So, if you trap mosquitoes, you trap the disease malaria. Stay safe and healthy.

Health / 5 Things You Must Never Do To Your Child As A Parent! by Papzey(f): 10:55am On Jun 26, 2017
It is important to scold children, maybe even beat them when necessary. As a parent, it is important that you know when to draw the line. Here are 5 things you should not do as a parent, especially a mother.

1. Never play with your child's breast or penis: Some mothers do this as a means of teasing their children. Some even allow others to do it to their children and when the child frowns at it, they are like "can't someone even play with you again?" Seriously, it's a really bad thing, no matter how young the child is, as long as he is not a toddler, the genitals should never be toyed with.

2. Never body shame your child: As a mother, you are supposed to make your children proud of themselves not make them have low self-esteem. A mother who uses her child's features to insult him or her will end up loosing a part of the child which she can never get back.

3. Never curse your child: Children hurt when their parents curse them, which in turn, makes them develop the habit of cursing other people. They often turn out to be the names their parents call them, hence, they become nuisance to the society.

4: Never discipline your child unnecessarily: When a parent disciplines a child unnecessarily, the child gets used to discipline and even he/she won't know what is wrong or right anymore. This kind of child ends up doing whatever he/she pleases with the thought that (no matter what he/she does, its never right in the sight of the parent).

5: Never compare your children or insult one for another especially if they are teenagers or adults: This act can make the inferior child do things that are unspeakable in order to prove himself/herself right. Worse, the child accepts the fact that he is less worthy and lacks focus and ambition. If a parent must compare two children, it should be in a cool manner, during advice, when they are away from they other child. This will make the inferior child see why he/she should do or be better.

Crime / Suspected Badoo Terror Group Member Apprehended In Ikorodu (photo) by Papzey(f): 12:53pm On Jun 21, 2017
A suspected member of the deadly Ikorodu cult group and terrorists, Badoo, was apprehended at Badagry, Lagos state in the early hours of today June 21, 2017.

According to local reports, a resident of the area observed a man who was semi-naked with a big stone in his hand attempting to gain entrance into a home at Felefon Street in Ayegbami Community in Igbogbo, Badagry area of Lagos state.

The residents raised an alarm and the suspect fled the compound. But the youths in the area gave him a hot pursuit and he was eventually apprehended. The suspect initially offered them N5,000 to set him free and when they refused, he offered them a double, N10,000.

The suspect was found with a stone, a tool Badoo cult members are known to use in carrying out their terror attacks. It took the intervention of the CDA Chairman, Baba Awe and HRM Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, for him not to have been killed by jungle justice as the youths gave him the biggest beating of his life.

He has been handed over to the police.

Family / Parenting 101: 15 Habits Your Child May Possess And Their Meanings by Papzey(f): 12:54pm On Jun 20, 2017
Are you a parent finding it hard to understand your child or children? Do you find some habits your child portrays that drive you nuts?

Are you struggling to keep your children in check? Do you have those stubborn kids that make you regret having them?

Have you looked inwards to see if the problems of your kids were initiated by you?
What is parenting? According to Wikipedia, Parenting or Child rearing is the process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood. Parenting also refers to the aspects of raising a child aside from the biological relationship.

So, anybody can be a parent, from guardians to school teachers, but do you do it right? Do you steer these kids on the right part? Do you think you are harsh with the kids? Do they see you as a wicked person?

What is a good parent? A good parent is not trying to be the perfect parent. A good parent takes care of themselves so they can take very good care of their children. A good parent wants what is best for their children.

So, what are the habits your child may possess that you really need to check? Read 15 habits of children below, and decide which you can effect positive changes in them.

1. If your child lies to you often, it is because you over-react too harshly to their inappropriate behaviour.

2. If your child does not confide in you about their mistakes, you may have lost them.

3. If your child has a poor self-esteem, it is because you advise them more than you encourage them.

4. If your child does not stand up for themselves, it is because from a young age you have disciplined them regularly in public.

5. If your child takes things that do not belong to them, it is because when you buy them things, you never let them chose what they really want.

6. If your child is cowardly, it is because you help them too quickly.

7. If your child does not respect other people’s feelings, it is because you are fond of not speaking to your child, but only give out orders and commands.

8. If your child is too quick to get angry, it is because you pay a lot of attention to misbehaviour and pay little attention to good behaviour.

9. If your child is excessively jealous, it is because you only congratulate them when they successfully complete something and not when they improve at something even if they don’t successfully complete it.

10. If your child intentionally disturbs you, it is because you are not physically affectionate enough.

11. If your child is openly defiant, it is because you openly threaten to do something but never follow through.

12. If your child is secretive, it is because they don’t trust that you won’t blow things out of proportion.

13. If your child talks back to you, it is because they watch you do it to others and think it’s a normal behaviour.

14. If your child doesn’t listen to you but listens to others, it is because you are too quick to jump to conclusions.

15. If your child shows rebellious traits, it is because they know you care more about what others think than what is right.

You may have been unknowing giving your child or children the options to exhibit these habits if you experienced same with your own parents or guardians, and think it is the right way for parenting. So, ask yourself, “How can I be a good parent?” You can be a good parent by loving your child wholeheartedly and following the below-listed tips:

1. Give your child love and affection.

2. Praise your children when they do well. Encourage them when they do otherwise.

3. Avoid comparing your children to others, especially siblings or cousins.

4. Learn to listen to your children. Sometimes, what some kids really want is to be heard and understood.

5. Make time for your children. Create enough time for them and don’t be that parent who is always.

6. Be there for the milestones. Be there to show support whenever you should.

Health / Diabetes: What Do You Know About It? by Papzey(f): 8:17am On Jun 20, 2017
What is Diabetes?

Diabetes is a chronic, progressive noncommunicable disease (NCD) which occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, which is needed to regulate blood glucose (blood sugar), or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it does produce. Insulin is a hormone that regulates sugar level, which is important for providing us energy.

Sugar can increase to harmful levels in the blood when there is insufficient insulin. This can lead to damages in all of our major organs, from our hearts to our kidneys. It can also lead to blindness, impotence, and infections that can result in amputation.

Types of Diabetes

There are three main types of diabetes: type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes. The cause of type 1 diabetes is still unknown and people living with it require a daily intake of insulin for survival.

Diabetes that majority of people suffer from globally is the type 2, and it is caused by excess body weight and physical inactivity. Previously, type 2 diabetes is only common in adults but now occurs in children and young people.

Gestational diabetes occurs in pregnancy and carries a long-term risk of type 2 diabetes. Gestational diabetes is experienced when blood sugar levels are above normal but still below those diagnostic of diabetes. It is a temporary condition.

Random facts about Diabetes

1. 422 million adults worldwide live with diabetes .

2. Diabetes caused 1.5 million deaths in 2012. Higher-than-normal blood sugar which increases the risks of cardiovascular and other diseases also caused an additional 2.2 million deaths. 43% of all deaths due to diabetes occur before the age of 70.

3. The prevalence of diabetes has been steadily increasing for the past 3 decades & is growing most rapidly in low & middle-income countries.

4. The complications of diabetes can lead to heart attack, blindness, kidney failure, stroke and lower limb amputation. E.g. The rates of lower limb amputation are 10 to 20 times higher for people suffering from diabetes.

5. Access to insulin is a matter of life or death for many people living with diabetes. Essential medicines & technology (including insulin) needed for treatment are generally available in only one-third of the world’s poorest nations.

6. The starting point for living well with diabetes is an early diagnosis, because many cases of diabetes type 2 can be properly managed.

Live a good lifestyle

A healthy diet, physical activity and maintaining a healthy weight can all help reduce your risk. Diabetes is both preventable and treatable. Living a good lifestyle helps reduce the risk of being diagnosed with the disease while diagnosis and access to treatment can help prevent complications and deaths.

Remember, the overall risk of dying early if you suffer from diabetes is twice that of people who don’t have the disease! Stay healthy! Stay fit!

Health / Ever Wondered Why You Wake Up With Body Pains? by Papzey(f): 5:30pm On Jun 19, 2017
Have you ever wondered why you wake up with body pains? Sometimes, you feel like you did something strenuous all night and you end up having a "less active" day often coupled with headache and tiredness.

Here are some possible causes and solutions;

· A bad bed: Not all beds/mattresses are ideal to sleep on. Some are too old and deformed and become flat when pressure is applied on them. The lower part of the body sinks in the bed which causes irregular flow of blood. Get a good mattress and enjoy your sleep.

· Bad sleeping position: A proper sleeping position can help reduce body pains. It may be difficult to maintain a good posture, therefore it is advisable to get accustomed to a good sleeping position or use pillow to support yourself when sleeping.

· Eating heavy food/ drinking water just before bed: YES! Some people may find it convenient to eat just before bed and they will be fine. For some it may cause sleepless night due to indigestion and full bladder, therefore eat dinner early or take light meals before bed.

· Lack of exercise: To avoid body pains when you wake up -practise daily routine exercise. Do jumping jacks, stretch your body, skip and dance. It really helps.

· Avoid excess sugar intake: The intake of sugar especially without burning it causes body and joint pains. Back and waist pains also result from too much sugar in the body, avoid sweet things or burn the sugar taken in by exercise.

· Not drinking plenty of water: It's amazing that water treats many sicknesses, it also helps reduce body pains. Take plenty of water and eat water fruits like cucumber and watermelon.

· Malnutrition: The lack of vitamins and minerals especially iron and vitamin B complex can cause body pains. Always eat balanced diet and take supplements often, it really helps.

· Sickness: Body pains can be a sign that you are not feeling well. After trying all of these and you still don't feel well, see a doctor. Avoid excess painkillers and self-medication.

I hope this helps, Stay healthy!

Career / Life Hacks: How To Make Meaningful Life Decisions by Papzey(f): 10:26am On Jun 17, 2017
This write up is for two sets of people: Those who have no idea of what they want to do,
and those who have too many ideas of what to do.

Those who have no idea of what they want to do.

1. Congratulations, you have admitted to yourself that you want to do something, that’s the most important step. However, you don’t know what to do. That’s why I’m here, to help you decide. First, you need to ask yourself these questions; what do you enjoy doing? (If you have no idea, it’s OK, just ask yourself the next question.)

2. Is there anyone you envy? What does the person do? (You still don’t know? Not to worry, ask yourself the next just question)

3. Are you the type that can do anything legal for a living? (If yes, go back to number 2) (If no, continue to number 4).

4. Can you sell a particular product? (If yes, will it be consumable products or non-consumable products?) (If no, create a list of work and try each out till you figure out what you like.)

Those who have too many ideas of what to do.

1. Being “Jack of all trades, master of none” is not good for one’s career. So, of all the plenty ideas, you need to streamline by asking yourself the following questions;

Of all the things in your head, which two of the things do you enjoy doing most? (If more than two, proceed to number 2)

2. What are you good at doing? (If nothing, proceed to number 3)

3. Would you like a white collar job or start your own business? (If you like a white collar job, of the streamlined career paths, which collar job, will be more fun to do?) (If you would like to start your own business, do you have a capital source? If no, you still need a job. Which will pay well -enabling you to save enough money for a short while-?) If you still can’t decide, proceed to number

4. Who are you proud of because of the job he/she is doing? (It’s OK to want to be like someone if you are not a dreamer; the most important thing is finding happiness and doing well.).

Now that you have read this, you may decide to follow or just get a clue, either ways, find your passion.

Romance / How To Move On After An Heart Break by Papzey(f): 5:01pm On Jun 14, 2017
Sweetheart, it's ok, I know it's really sad to experience heart breaks from your partner but believe me, everything will be just fine. It's not the end of the world, it's the world giving you another chance to explore a better option.

I know it's painful, and you are trying to be strong... keep trying, you are almost there.
You are not alone in this, people have there heart broken everyday, some may try to hide it but it's going to make them hateful because the right thing to do is to accept what happened and try to get over it not bury it.

Different people have different levels of sensitivity, you are allowed to be sensitive, just don't try something stupid, there are millions of people out there, you will meet a better person, I know you will.

1. Let it all out, cry as much as you can; it's allowed sweetheart, let it all out till you are exhausted, till the tears are all dried out, till you feel refreshed.

2. You can live without him/her; the person who broke your heart is not oxygen, he/she is not food and water, neither is he electricity this is why you should breath, eat, drink and live. Enjoy quality time with your friends, phone, television, sports and other things you love. Explore the internet, where you will learn more and probably meet others like you. You will be fine hun!

3. Go out more, go to fun places; if you cant afford that take a stroll, maybe it's time for you to know the names of your neighbouring street.

4. Never depend on alcohol; it's not your therapist, it will only compound to your problem.

5. Talk to sensible people about it; the more you talk about it the more you get over it, before you know it, you will be fine.

6. Live your life, be free, meet people; don't be isolated it won't help matters.

7. Let the person who broke your heart know that you can be fine without him. Don't make the mistake of going back to him except you are sure he/she wants you back. You are not even supposed to go back to him in the first place, but the heart can be tricky and I know sometimes, you want to go back. Please don't let he/she break your heart again, be in control of your emotions, always have it at the back of your mind that he can leave you anytime soon so be prepared.

8. Don't take advise from people without asking those that can really help; Don't try to get back someone who was capable of breaking your heart without considering your feelings in the first place.
9. Talk to him/her if you want to; it will make it easy to forgive. If the person doesn't want to talk to you, fine, just let it go. It means the person is so heartless that he/she can't even help you pass through the phase. Do you deserve that kind of person? NO! You don't.

10. Don't let the right one pass you by; Forgive and forget the past, move on with you life. Don't ignore anyone because someone broke your heart. You never can tell, it may be because you are meant to meet this person that the previous one broke up with you. However, don't fall in love immediately, take your time and shield your heart take control. Don't let your heart decide what to do for you, decide what your heart wants to do especially since you have been heartbroken and you don't want to experience it again.

I know it may be difficult, all you need to do is try..... be strong, be hopeful and be happy.

I hope this helps! Stay strong.

Health / Home Remedies To Stop Snoring by Papzey(f): 9:13am On Jun 12, 2017
We all know snoring can be very irritating to those who are around us. People who snore are not even aware of it, and when they are told they snore, they vehemently deny it. “It is a big lie. I don’t snore…” they usually say. How do we know we snore if no one tells us? You should also know that Snoring is one of the symptoms of Sleep apnea which is a common disorder in which you have one or more pauses in breathing or shallow breaths while you sleep.

Sleep apnea is a far more serious sleep disorder with symptoms of snoring, breathing pauses or choking noises during sleep. Breathing pauses can last from a few seconds to minutes and they may occur 30 times or more in an hour. Usually, normal breathing then begins again, sometimes with a loud snort or choking sound. This post discusses snoring remedies.

Below are Snoring Solutions:

1. Always clear your nostrils

If your nostrils or nasal passages are always blocked when you got to sleep, it is 90% certain that you will snore. You should always clear your nostrils before sleep if it is blocked.

2. Learn to sleep on your side

Sleeping on your back can make you snore. This is because when you lie down on your back, it will force the base of your tongue and soft palate to crash to the back wall of your throat, causing you to snore during sleep. Sleeping on your side will prevent this.

3. Make sure to stay hydrated

The more you are dehydrated, the more likely you are going to snoring. So, make sure to drink enough of water daily to push snoring away.

4. Shed some weight

Though slim and chubby people snore, over time, studies have shown that people who are fat often snore. This is because if you are overweight, your neck will gather too much tissue which can affect your breathing. So, lose some weight to deal with snoring.

5. Use an anti-snoring mouthpiece or guard

If you snore, you should provide yourself with anti-snoring devices (such as mouthpiece or guard) to prevent snoring whenever you sleep. However, know that using this guard doesn't necessarily mean that you do not snore. You should check with your doctor before choosing to use the anti-snoring guard to sleep.

6. Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking before bedtime

Drinking alcohol or smoking few hours preceding sleep time is a surefire way for snoring because it won't allow your muscles to relax. Even people who do not snore often will easily snore after drinking alcohol or smoking to bed.

I hope this helps, stay safe and healthy.

Health / All You Need To Know About Sudden Cardiac Arrest That Causes Death by Papzey(f): 1:40pm On Jun 11, 2017
Cardiac arrest occurs when the effective blood flow suddenly stops due to the inability of the heart to contract efficiently. Usually, some people may suffer from chest pain, nausea, or shortness of breath before it occurs. If it is not taken care of swiftly and immediately, it usually leads to sudden death.

Signs and symptoms of Cardiac Arrest:

Cardiac arrest is sometimes preceded by certain symptoms such as fainting, fatigue, blackouts, dizziness, shortness of breath, weakness, vomiting, and chest pain. The arrest may also occur with no warning. The symptoms also include the absence of breathing or loss of consciousness.

What are the major causes of Cardiac Arrest?

Coronary artery disease is the most common cause of cardiac arrest. Other less common causes are major blood loss, lack of oxygen, very low potassium, heart failure, and intense physical exercise.

A number of inherited disorders may also increase the risk including long QT syndrome. The initial heart rhythm is most often ventricular fibrillation.

The diagnosis is confirmed by finding no pulse. While a cardiac arrest may be caused by heart attack or heart failure, these are not the same.

What are the other causes of Cardiac Arrest?

As mentioned earlier, coronary artery disease is the leading major cause of sudden cardiac arrest. There are hosts of other cardiac and non-cardiac conditions that also increase the risk. Coronary artery disease often results in coronary ischemia and ventricular fibrillation (v-fib). Cases have shown that the most common finding at postmortem examination of SCD is chronic high-grade stenosis of at least one segment of a major coronary artery, the arteries that supply the heart muscle with its blood supply.

Left ventricular hypertrophy is believed to be the leading cause of sudden cardiac death in the adult population. This is usually the result of severe high blood pressure which has caused secondary damage to the wall of the main pumping chamber of the heart, the left ventricle.

How to Prevent Cardiac Arrest?

The best prevention of cardiac arrest is to quit smoking, avoid heavy physical activity, getting enough sleep, and maintaining a healthy weight. The treatment for cardiac arrest is immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and if a shockable rhythm is present, defibrillation is used. An implantable cardiac defibrillator may be placed to reduce the chance of death from recurrence.

If you observe any of the above-mentioned symptoms in anyone close to you, please rush to the hospital or call emergency services immediately. Sudden cardiac arrest is killing quite a lot of young people these days.

Family / 14 Tips For Avoiding Child Molestation by Papzey(f): 5:16pm On Jun 10, 2017
Did you observe lately that the number of child molestation cases making the news has become rampant? Isn't it demonic that adults will penetrate underage girls? girls not even in their puberty stage. I used to believe this isn't real until it happened to someone close to me.

It was my friend's 11 years old sister. One of their cousins (in his early 20s) lives with them. Shockingly, their stepmother woke up in the midnight to the sight of the cousin ejaculating on the little girl sleeping. Their father almost shook to death upon hearing the devastating news. Only God knows how long it had been going on, but the girl's mum had recently complained of her loose vagina. The dad brushed it off and even flogged the girl that she was mischievous.

It happened and it was unbelievable. Further discovery made showed how the cousin had been seeing a lot of porn. He had more than 8gigabyte of porn on his phone. Uncontrollable sexual arousal could be the cause for his action. This led to my previous post, "Should Children be allowed to watch movies and use the internet freely without close monitoring?"

Child molestation by adults is on the rise and we can't seem to pinpoint any cause for it. Some of the situations that lead to this scenarios can be avoided if the children are equipped with adequate orientation from their early growth stage. So that no one can be capitalize on their ignorance.

DO YOU WANT TO AVOID CHILD MOLESTATION CASES LIKE THIS? THEN REVIEW THE 14 POINTS BELOW;

1. Never allow your girl child sit on anyone's legs, no matter the close relationship.

2. Do not dress/UnCloth in the presence of your children. Once they are older than 2 years, let them understand the core value of privacy.

3. Do not allow any adult refer to your child as 'my wife or husband', disapprove immediately.

4. Watch out for your children in the playground. Never let your eyes leave them for a long time when they are playing with their peers, because little children sexually abuse themselves too (sometimes playfully acting mummy and daddy).

5. Do not force your child to visit any adult if he/she does not want to. Be wary of the adults your child become too fond with as well.

6. Be inquisitive when your child suddenly become withdrawn or unhappy when they return home after school, play, or visits.

7. Orientate your grown ups about sex accordingly. If you fail to teach them, they will learn it from their peers or the society, and that could change then negatively.

8. Check for ratings in toys and movies you buy for them. Many of these things can be laced with explicit sexual contents.

9. Enable parental controls on their phones and your internet cable networks, also advice the friends your child/ren visit/s often to do same.

10. Teach your child to wash his/her privates properly and warn them not to allow anyone (including you) to touch those areas.

11. Keep materials/associates that could pose a threat to the sanity of your child away, e.g; unrated music, uncensored movies, bad friends and families.

12. Teach your children the value of standing out from the crowd. Let them know standing out is not a crime. They don't have to blend in all the time.

13. Believe and trust your children when the complaint about a particular person. Never brush it off. Pursue the case and show them ultimate support.

14. Lastly, preach the words of God to your children. Raise and develop them into virtuous men and women. Let them live a virtue life. Nothing will give your more joy than seeing your children living a satisfactory life in the way of God.

Remember, you can't be too careful. May God give us the strength to manage our children properly and take them of the reach of child molesters.

Food / 7 Foods You Should Never Keep In The Refrigerator by Papzey(f): 5:08pm On Jun 10, 2017
What type of foods do you keep in your refrigerator? Do you know that there are some food that should not be stored in the fridge? I know many are fond of keeping any leftover or unused item in the fridge. Storing some food items in the fridge can zap or change their flavor, or make them go completely moldy fast. Do not risk losing flavor of food when all you need to do is store them properly and correctly.

Chances are you have been storing some of these foods in your fridge mistakenly when you should ordinarily keep them out on your counter or in your cupboard. Here are 7 foods you should never store in your fridge;

1 Tomatoes

Tomatoes tend to lose all their flavor when stored in the fridge. The bigger reason here is that the freezing air in the fridge halts the ripening process, and ripening is what enhances the flavor of tomatoes. The fridge also alters the texture of the tomato. According to Harold McGee’s ‘On Food and Cooking,’ the cold temperature breaks down the membranes inside the fruit walls, turning it mealy. Keep tomatoes out in a bowl or basket on the counter.

2 Potatoes

Storing your potato in the cold temperature of your fridge will convert its starch into sugar fast, so in the end- you are left with a sweet, gritty potato. Instead of storing potatoes in the refrigerator, put them in a paper bag and place in a cool -not cold- area. The best place of for potatoes to be stored is a dry dark place, like inside your pantry. Paper bags are more effective than plastic because they are more breathable and the potato won't rot quickly, compared to plastic. Store potatoes at a temperature very close to 45 degrees. This applies to sweet potatoes too.

3 Onions

Onions will get moistened and eventually become moldy if stored in the fridge. Store them in a cool, dry place. However, do not store your potatoes with onions; because when kept together, both will deteriorate at a faster rate.

4 Garlic

Your garlic will gradually sprout in the refrigerator, and it may also get moldy and rubbery. Keep garlic in a cool, dry place too.

5 Bread

Your fridge will dry out your bread quickly. Unless if your bread is sliced and you plan on using them in a few days, keep bread in the freezer or out on the counter. If you are going to eat bread in four days, then keep them out and you should slice when you are ready to eat it, but if there are any leftover- freeze the rest to thaw and eat later. Wrap your bread in the freezer so that it retains its moisture, and when you take out from the freezer, you should allow it thaw slowly and fully before consuming.

6 Coffee

Coffee will lose its flavor and deposit odor if stored in the refrigerator. Store coffee in a cool, dark place where it will retain its flavor and stay fresh. However, you can store larger quantities of coffee in the freezer.

7 Honey

Why the need to store honey in the fridge? If honey is well and tightly sealed in a container or jar, it will basically remain the same forever. Honey can crystallize if store in the fridge.

All these are foods you should store out in a cool, dry and dark place, but not in the fridge.

Stay healthy!
