Authenticnews: My brother, I'm not the owner/seller. As you see my post, na so dem send m come make I advertise oo. But before money crosses hands, proper inspection must be made..Ok, pls be sure about the authenticity of this sale. I'm not buying but it wont be fair to see an innocent buyer lose hard earned 650k. ![]() |
OP, You are more interested in material acquisitions and it's obvious from your post the way you harp about his 'car, phone and designer clothes'. If you were not interested in such mundane things, you wouldn't have bothered whether they were his or not, original or imitation. Just accept the guy for whom he is and move on with him. You were prolly disappointed he didn't meet your expectations in terms of material wealth. How the heck did you evaluate what he was wearing and concluded it was imitation. na wah for some girls ooooh! Sorry bloody poor gold digger! |
You mean one of these mushroom private uni's. I grasp your point. They not only have names similar to many sec schools you'ld ordinarily come across, they are more or less glorified sec schools in all ramifications. You must have mistaken one for a sec school. |
if you have no hidden agenda, display the number plate and engine pix. The VIN is also required for prospective buyers to ascertain whether you are simply trying to dump your bitter-lemon to unsuspecting NLders |
got the mail, but so sceptical about the authenticity of the recruitment. Can't recall applying for any position. Just hope someone isnt trying to play a fast one. |

..........continued Then I remembered what Sly advised me - he said "just ignore them, they won't fly over you". He lived only 3 streets away from me but the journey to his house was one dreadful stunt for me - my first in the streets (I had before then, been making attempts only on deserted open fields in a sec school playing ground after their closing hours). As I approached his house, I heaved a heavy sigh of relief. Then I saw him standing at the gate with hands tucked into his pockets. As soon as he sighted me in the car, he jumped and screamed with delight as if he just won a lottery...shouting ..."yeeees yeeees I knew you'll do it, I deliberately switched off my phone so that you wont be able to reach me and only that way, you'll make an attempt to drive yourself a few meters at least". I was fuming with rage. Me: that's silly, why would you do that? I am not confident yet. ![]() Sly: Well, you have to try (smiling sheepishly )Me: Now jump into the car and take me to work ( I paid him on a separate arrangement for this till I am able to do so on my own) Sly: haaa, Nooooooooo oooooo! Me: What do you mean? you expect me a learner like me to drive through busy third mainland to VI? ![]() Sly: No but just try to get to the expressway junction, then I'll take over from there. In that way, you'll improve your confidence and I'll gradually enlogate the distance with each progress. Me: ok jump into the car and give me instructions That was how we continued for about another 2 weeks, untill Sly gradually increased the distance I have to go and then he faded into tin air. I had no choice, but to move...and I've been moving for years now. never had any issue. the first longest distance was from Abule-egba to Palmgrove. To sly, I dedicate this short story of my first driving experince! |
sorry, I feel like writing an epistle. Memories of how I started driving just sends some nostalgia and I can only but laugh now when I think of how I started I initially registered in a driving school adjacent to my street. The grumpy mid-aged man...I suppose from his looks, or perhaps because he had a permanent grimace and hardly ever smiled except you had some money to offer him. he asked for 6000 naira for a 2 weeks (3 sessions of 45 minutes each week) training, after which he said he will evaluate my performance and decide whether I needed top-up lessons. Then he demanded that I pay him 1000 for each lesson. However, as I was eager and enthusiastic about learning, I paid him 4k 'up-front' not knowing what I was in for. I dindt mind the jalopy haggard looking beetle (volkswagen) that sneezed, coughed, jerked and made all sorts of horible noise. Infact you dare not board such vehicle in neat (white) clothings. The seats were darker than coal tar- the dirtiest ever! then the lessons began. He forgot he was teaching a novice and expected me to perform magic. he complained bitterly about my not being able to change the manual transmission gears, removing my foot from the pedal so fast and so on. He went as far as hitting me while driving (hot knocks). Then I lost my temper. He asked me to come agin the next day for more lessons but I bluntly refused, forfeited my payments and rather, started making enquiries about another driving lesson from a neighbour. I was later told by my neighbour (after I narrated my experience with this grumpy man, that he is actually very impatient with beginners and only interested in money - as a matter of fact, she left after the first day as well. She called a young lad (aged about 25) who had passed driving test and had a driving license to put me thorough. His name - Sly. Sly was amazing with control. He had a perfect touch on every component and in less than 3 lessons, I had started driving. He came every morning to pick me for work. Then one day, he deliberately decided not to come and switched off his phone. I was stranded and desperate to leave the house as I was running late for work. I had no choice but to move the car to his house at least. Inserted the keys and turned it clockwise, it reeved. heart pumping, beating fast and so nervous. I switched on the AC. I was there for about 30minutes. The Ac was on but I was sweating. I engaged the cluctch, changed the gear and pedaled softly but with so much fear. So many thoughts raved through my mind. What if...I run into someone, all the what if's came racing through my mind. I came out of the street to a T junction and then gradually joined the other cars. Trust Nigerian drivers, it didn't take them split seconds to know I was a learner. I hesistated with every move and the 'horn' from other cars came blarring. Some were spewing expletives...'commot there joor' sweegbe', I became more nervous, this time, sweating through my ears... tbc |
tpacalipse: But why are people still arguing on this? I have seen two freelanders converted to camry 1999 engine in Ado Ekiti. Come to opposite Teaching Hospital and ask for Paty. He is a mechanic. He did one in my presence when I took my car to him for gear wahala. I even followed the freelander to a place where they wanted to adjust and construct something for the Engine seat. I followed because I was just currious. I later asked one of the mechs for who did the electronics or electricals, and the guy said, the man who did it will do anything. I think more people are converting freelander now to camry. I don't know why the preference for the camry engine.Drop the mechanics number here joor! Stop wasting our time pls.. ![]() |
OP, how soon does it take the cars to arrive Lagos port. I'm apprehensive about making these payments and having to wait donkey years before the cars arrive. I don't want these your sales gimmick of making it sound so affordable and easy, but in reality, you're only using this coy as a bait to get customers trapped into the contract. Once payment is made, the rest is story story, long endless storieeeeeeeeeeeees and excuses of how the car is waiting for the next ship, or how the terminal in Carlifornia is temporarily closed, or how one paper needs to be faxed and the fax machine just got broke e.t.c abeg! there has been cases of people waiting as much as 6 months or more before a car arrives. So, give us your words.."how soon"? Btw, that Acura isn't bad. Can you do it for a little less than that, as a lot of work needs to be done ![]() mail: minajkindy@yahoo.co.uk |
hahahahhaa.....can't stop laffing! ![]() Best thread ever, kudos to Nigerian Mechanics. Despite the repudiation, they silence critics. Abeg, who has valid contacts of any machanic who can replicate this job (I don't want an educated one pls ) I'm shipping in a Landrover asap, don't ask me why ...The fun and pleasure of seeing this amazing adaptive ''Transmorgrification of the Freelander'' courtesy of 9ja wonder-mechanics is more than enough reason. Travesty for Western Engineers ! anyone with valid contact should pls drop it on this thread |

InnovaLogies: They are Brand new and old stocks.. we are selling off !agreed, but hope no factory defects. btw, you still aint picking calls |
@OP, your IQ is far less than that of a cockroach. You have just succeeded in publicising how grossly r.etarded you are can't believe you had the time to write that crap. Go get yourself educated on how MRI scanners function. Are you claiming to be wiser than FIFA and research that has innovated the bone epi/hypophyseal plate scanners? FYI, it's 99% accurate! |
you aint picking calls. I hope they are not returned items with factory fault? |

MAYOWAAK: I just cant shake it off my mind that Nigeria is exactly the way the majority of Nigerians want it to be, right now. I have turned it over in my mind time and again and I can clearly see that Nigerians do not innately believe in equality of man or in fair distribution of wealth. Somehow, we are opportunistic in our outlook on life and believe more in stratification, in a social echelon based not on contribution or achievement, but on privileges obtained by almost any means at all. We love a setting where hard work does not necessarily guarantee wealth but where mysterious luck ('favour') intercept the course of things and the unpredictable hands of something called destiny comes to bring sudden, unheard of riches. And it is interesting how this outlook on life has been adopted and incorporated into our standard religious liturgies. Corruption saw this weakness in our world view and snugly wriggled in.Are you simply fascinated by this obviously plagiarised essay or you lack comprehension of the crux of this thread. There is no modicum of correlation between your post and the subject/topic. Your point lacks the needed constructive and logical link to the debate. It does not come as a suprise that Nigerians are now disenfranchised from taking the exams (TOEFL/GRE). Critical comprehension askills and analytical views to topics are always lacking. The avarage Nigerian student just cant do without 'copying and pasting', claiming to be smart when apparently, they know next to nothing. So annoying ![]() |
