TrishaP: @pato, Mind you.. not all naija babes.I don't usually like making sweeping statements, but on this particular issues..I will throw all caution regarding making "hasty generalisations" into the wind. ALL 9ja babes are implicated here o! They are almost all the same..perhaps because of some 'cultural schools of thought' which shapes beliefs that the man must be a provider in every relationship. The only set of 9ja babes that could have been singled out are the more mature (35 and above) who belong to the working class and are to some extent, helping out their unemployed partners . BTW, they often rub it in to the exasperation of the man. They make silly statements to publicize their little contributions e.g"after all I've done for him" "after all we've been through" " I bought this and that for him and payed the bills" These statements only destroy and wears off the man's confidence and affection for the lady. You don't need to over emphasise it at every availing opportunity. When the man gets sick of such comments, the relationship only heads for the gallows and then..divorce often occurs because no man wants his limitations always rubbed with impunity on his face. 9ja babes abeg make una dey encourage una young men. You guys are becoming globally notorious for this! |
9ja babes don't give a damn about where you got the money from. All they want is the money. As a matter of fact, some of them who suspect or have a hint that you must have done something mischievous to get the money will bluntly tell you not to mention their names when you are caught. They will deny you regardless of your sacrifice to please their insatiable quest for money and material things...and off they jump to their next victim. Imagine an undergraduate giving his girlfriend 50k-100k to satisfy her greedy demands, and the girl gladly accepts it without questioning the source! one thing that baffles me is that they don't know where to draw the line. For example, In a couple of weeks time, the same greedy girl who has just been given 100k will demand for more (they are Oliver Twists' of this generation) with the hopes of surely getting it off the poor boy. So much pressure on the guys . Some even go as far as threatening you that they will give in to advances of other men (sugar daddies) if you cant satisfy their demands. Others will stop picking your calls . Greed, greed and greed all the way for 9ja babes.just imagine these threads: https://www.nairaland.com/1500819/right-time-ask-boyfriend-rent https://www.nairaland.com/1501254/girl-friend-3yrs-left-me |

any attempt to fly this contraption is tantamount to suicide. He should pls for at least the safety of Nigeria's infamous airspace, focus on land and water. We sick of Nig aviation sector making hrt-rending headlines. |
Please spread the news! and thank me again later . A lot of Nigerian students are stuck in the mud here. Meanwhile representatives from UK unis invade Nigeria (and other countries) advertising their schools and organising on-the-spot admissions, with sugar-coated tongues, pleading with prospective students not to work more than 20 hours a week as if they really had jobs. Alas, it was all SCAM. ![]() |
This is just so TRUE ! ![]() Starting University can be a pretty daunting challenge for anybody – with most students leaving home to move to a new city and to meet new people – there can be a lot of surprises along the way. However, for those international students who move to the UK to study this can be even more of a challenge with a lot of things to look out for. Here are 5 things they don’t tell you about being an international student in the UK. 1. It’s hard to find work Apart from the basic hurdles that come with finding a job, international students face more difficult challenges when it comes to the job search process. Employers are unwilling to hire students from abroad because of the perception that hiring an international student is costly, time consuming, and they are likely to end up leaving after 6 months! Employers also worry that if they hire foreign students, they will end up with employees who have poor English skills. Whether these attitudes are valid or not, these fears mean it is hard to get decent jobs, especially with no post-study work visa. 2. If you can get a job, your ability to work is limited!! While EU students have no restriction on the amount of hours they can work, international students can only work 20 hours per week – including voluntary work!! If you are studying a course below degree level, you will only be allowed to work 10 hours per week during term time. The 20 hour per week maximum during term time is not flexible and cannot be exceeded in any given week. This means earning your keep can be very difficult whilst studying as an international student in the UK. 3. Getting funding for your study is almost impossible Getting funding or grants for your study is a major challenge for all students, but international students from outside of the EU do not qualify for support from Student Finance England at all! What makes this even worse, however, is that it is a major condition of receiving a visa that you must be able to provide evidence of your funding before you begin a course!! If you do not have funding in place, you cannot obtain a visa!! 4. There is minimal support for ESL students. Many international students from abroad are treated like second class citizens at university in the UK. There is a serious lack of adequate ESL/ELD programs, which fundamentally undermine the overall quality and effectiveness of university education. The number of ESL students is highly disproportionate to the amount of ESL and/or Bilingual teachers and without the number of necessary trained ESL/Bilingual teachers, and lack of first language support, students can receive poor marks. 5. Some Universities are only after your money! The misselling of university education to international students is one of the biggest scandals in the UK. Overseas students applying to study in Britain often find themselves forced to pay tuition fees twice in order to secure a place at their chosen college, while others have discovered they have to pay more when they arrive in the country! It is a common perception that International students have lots of money, and so are being misled by their university and are cheated out of thousands of pounds by UK universities, with no avenue to reclaim the money. source: http://writepass.com/journal/2013/10/5-things-they-dont-tell-you-about-being-an-international-student-in-the-uk/ |

if you cant accept 500k for this problematic car, then keep it to yourself. not less than another 500k might be spent on that unfriendly looking engine. ![]() |
AutoAffair: The Last Price is 600kfor this feather weight? keep your car to yourself. |
smartchoice: LolI wonder what comes into their minds when they come on NL advertising cars for as much as 2mil-5mil and even more. People with that kind of money buy from car-stands. For crying out loud, does anyone ever spare a though on low income earners? those who also deserve to own a car but don't really have much? cars are now regarded as status symbol because of the high price tags on them. it fast becoming a tool to wipe out the middle class and reflect the wide gap between the rich and the poor. cars that are bought for as little as £400 in UK (apx 100k)and salvaged junks from US are over-loaded with heavy goods in order to recover the cost of shipping and clearing. They are eventually sold for as much as 800k and even more - all in the name of toks. the 9ja used ones have lost their useful years, a glimpse will tell you that they have seen better days and outlived their usefulness, yet the owners want to sell them at 500k- 650k. Buying them even costs more on the long run because you'll spend a fortune trying to get them back on the roads. It all sends a signal - greed is the order of the day in Nigeria. |
