PoliticsRe: Young Nigerian Virgin Stripped Unclad: Shame On Nigerian Masses!!! by patrick89(m): 1:40pm On Jun 27, 2013
edunwosu: Young Nigerian Virgin Stripped Naked: Shame on Nigerian Masses
Having taken my early morning coffee, I sat back reading news coming from Germany vis-à-vis Ibrahim Babangida’s critical health condition.
I was praying for his health to be returned to him. IBB is not somebody that I would love to see die in a hospital because he needs to die like his late brother in crime, Gaddafi.
I was so sad, very sad indeed and I reflected:
Abdulsalami Abubakar stole about 20 billion U.S dollars from Nigeria ,
Atiku Abubakar stole about $18 billion U.S dollars,
Olusegun Obasanjo and her daughter- Iyabo liquidated about $13 billion dollar power project,
IBB stole about $20 billion US dollars from Nigeria.
Ibori stole over $2.6 billion U.S dollars,
Tony Anenih stole about $6 billion U.S. dollars during his time as a federal minister alone,
Abba Ruma stole about 1.3 billion U.S dollars ,
Umaru Dikko stole about $1 billion U.S dollars,

Peter Odili stole about $2billion U.S dollars ,Orji Uzor Kalu stole about $1.2 billion U.S dollars, Bola Tinubu stole about $1.1 billion U.S dollars, David Mark stole about $1 billion U.S dollars already, former speaker Bankole stole about $1 billion U.S dollars, Ahmed Makarfi stole about $800 million U.S dollars, Gbenga Daniel stole about 500 million U.S dollars, Christopher Alao Akala stole about $250 million U.S dollars, Ikedi Ohakim stole about 450 million U.S dollars, Muhammadu Buhari stole over 500 million U.S dollars during his time at Petroleum Trust Fund, Chimaroke Nnamani stole over $500 million U.S dollars, Donald Duke stole about 600 million U.S dollars, Lucky Igbinedion stole about 600 million U.S dollars, Ngozi Okonja Iweala stole about 100 million U.S dollars,

Nasir el Rufai is accused of liquidating about 30 billion Naira, even Saint Nuhu Ribadu has not explained how he single handedly raised billions of Naira from his salary as police officer just to secure ACN presidential ticket, Sullivan Chime, Peter Obi, Theodore Orji, Gabriel Suswam, Ameachi etc are currently stealing and the list goes on and on ad infinitium.

So why am I so sad? A poor little girl (fascinated with western technology) got caught and stripped naked for stealing an outdated black berry by a cross section of Nigerian Masses in Lagos. She was tortured, violated, fingered, molested and raped. The same girl would not have stolen the blackberry if her money stolen by the Nigerian elite was properly accounted to her.

Yet, nobody dare do same to Patience Jonathan (wife of current Nigerian President) when she was caught at the airport trying to freight away over $15 million U.S dollars and other hard currencies. Saint Nuhu Ribadu who handled the case as EFCC boss now claims such event never happened. The same Ribadu also claimed that Bola Tinubu is now innocent.

My question is why kill a harmless bird when these big thieves walk? After all, the big idiot that recovered the stolen phone should have forgiven the poor little chap knowing that more was stolen from him and her by the Nigerian elite.Rather than hold these thieves accountable by Nigerian masses, the same masses would argue among themselves and sympathize with these big thieves claiming that they are been persecuted due to ethnicity. The masses will sing their praises, dance for them, call them “oga” etc. Yet the same masses will turn against minor thieves.

No wonder some shameless Yoruba elders rallied around Bode George and Bola Tinubu during their graft travails at the hands of the EFCC and Code of Conduct Bureau .I am not calling on Nigerian Masses to have a revolution. No, not at all, as such would attract the useless Nigerian Military and security apparatus to brutally kill the masses. During the Arab springs, the military in those countries supported the people. Nigerias’ case is and would be different as the Nigerian “slowpoke and pepper soup ” military would support their “Ogas” against the people. We need to examine our conscience. If we will strip a poor little girl naked for stealing a black berry then the logic goes that we will need to strip our politicians naked for siphoning money meant for our education, road projects and other facilities.

I am not an “internet” warrior but enough is enough.

God bless the good people who read between the lines.

kettykin: Lack of Electricity and the unwillingness of the Government to provide Electricity was why the post civil war industrial Revolution of the 80s when Aba produced and replicated just about most things that were imported into the country and Nnewi grew the Auto parts manufacturing Business to another dimension with GMO group in Onitsha Unleashing an unprecedented yet to be matched Conglomerate manufacturing revolution .

If the post Civil war Industrial Revolution continued unhindered, Nigeria would have been among the first 20 economies, with every body including the Northerners represented by Abacha, IBB and Abdulsalami who killed the power sectors and yorubas
Represented by Obasanjo (who wasted $16B on the power sector with virtually nothing to show for it after 15 years )and Jospeh Makoku (the Longest serving NEPA C.E.O) who refused to revive the power sector benefiting, while the east would have been at par with Malasia, China , Ukraine and Indonesia in Industrial and technological capacities

It is beginning to dawn on me that the lack of enthusiasm of succeeding Governments to liberalize the power sector then just as the did the Banking industry and later the Telecommunication industry was more of a deliberate and calculated action than an oversight.

The present Industrial re awakening must be sustained with a very good financial outlay from Banks home and abroad for investments in Key industrial sectors, a very good Research and Development program by the companies , Universities and Government institutions, the provision of a Deep Sea port within the Niger Delta Areas for Evacuation of Exports from the Eastern based factories and industries, an International Airport in the East for easy access with the international community. Some Government incentives for Local Manufacturers of goods e.g 5 year tax free , zero import duty for machinery and very high tariff for those importing goods manufactured locally e.t.c massive investment in infrastructures like railway , drainage, roads, water supply by the local , state and federal Governments.

The East should jealously Guard their new found industrial heritage and aim to beat Asians in meeting the American Government instituted Growth and Opportunity Acts (AGOA)

IGBO-SON:
I've noticed that big investments/projects in the South East are mainly driven by private venture capital.....which is a good thing as there's a better chance said projects would be run efficiently and not left to decay as we've seen with most gov't run establishments in the past. This is different from what you find with some other states that are a bit better off financially (as per federal allocation, 13% derivation, and huge IGR receipts), and can afford huge budget projects like 5-star hotels, power plants, rail transportation, airports and the like.....though some of these states have seen the wisdom in contracting out the management of these projects to reputable private companies that have the requisite experience; kinda like we see with Akwa Ibom and the new 5-star hotel they're building.

I believe we in the South East haven't tapped into even 5% of capabilities for big budget investments; especially by way of the stock market or a sovereign wealth fund which all Igbos (at home and in diaspora) would be required to buy into depending on their ability/networth. We could raise billions of dollars this way, to be invested in critical projects that would place our region on a positive footing for economic prosperity.

Here is another one

CPG obtained a generating license from NERC in September 2012 to develop a 495MW powerplant on 31.9Ha of land owned by CPG. The company hired AF-Consult Switzerland to be the Owner’s Engineer for the project. AF-Consult completed the conceptual design for the plant in December 2012, and completed the tender documents for EPC Selection in March 2013. These documents areavailable for interested EPC bidders to download directly from this website, or from the company's Lagos or Abuja offices.
The project is being developed in 3 phases. The first phase, comprising of 495MW, will become operational in 2015.
Phase 1:Construction of a gas fired power plant in an Open Cycle Gas Turbine (OCGT) configuration, with a power output of approximately 495MW (at ISO conditions) by September 2015.
Phase 2: Extension of the OCGT to a combinedcycle gas turbine (CCGT) configuration with a nominal power capacity of approximately 750MW (at ISO conditions), through the addition of HRSG and steam turbines.
Phase 3: Installation of a second CCGT with additional capacity of 750MW (at ISO conditions) to arrive at a plant with a total output of 1500MW (at ISO conditions).
The entire 1500MW capacity is scheduled to be completed by 2018.
Plant Location
The plant site1 is a 31.9 hectares of virgin landwholly owned by CPG, and is situated along the Onitsha–Owerri express road, approximately 25km from the Oguta gas fields, about 15km from Nnewi (one of Nigeria’s major industrial and economic centers), and 25km from Onitsha (another major economic area).
The Project site is bordered on the East by the Ulasi River and on the West by the Onitsha-Owerri express road. It is important to note that Hammakopp Consortium’s base (the Nestoil Groups’ civil construction subsidiary) islocated directly opposite CPG-Okija IPP’s site, on the other side of the Owerri-Onitsha express road. This makes it extremely easy for mobilization to the plant site to perform site preparation and civil works required for the Project.
Milestones Accomplished
Own 31.9 Ha of land specifically for the CPG-Okija IPP.
Obtained a generating license for CPG-Okija IPP.
Cleared by the Federal Ministry of Environment.
Signed on AfDB as the lead financial arranger for the project.

This protest were obviously carried out by ACF, these protesters should be arrested!!!!! They also made this statement here also in Nigeria, they are the only people in the country that have labeled GEJ a Dictator!!!
Read these lines from them!

“Why did the President not include MEND(Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta), NDVF (Niger Delta Volunteer Force), OPC (Odua People’s Congress), Ombatse, etc in the ban since these organisations also engage in acts of terrorism?
“Was Boko Haram a legal organisation before the ban? He(President) just sleeps, dreams and acts on his dreams without thinking. Laws are made for all but GEJ’s law is discriminatoryand with ethnic bias.

And they exposed their sorry selves here by re quoting this........

“This is civilian dictatorship and not democracy. What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.”

Nigerian Troops on yesterday found packs of condoms, used and unused, in the Islamic terror group, Boko Haram camps, fueling doubts about what is it they are actually fighting for-or what would the so-called Holy Jihadists fighting for an Islamic state be doing with condoms?
Troops also found syringes and narcotic drugs believed to have been used by the insurgents to get high before embarking on their deadly attacks.
A statement by the Director, Defence Information, Brig-General Chris Olukolade entitled, ‘Life in Terrorists Camp: Condoms Everywhere’, reads, “More of the dirty sides of the insurgents’ life style are being revealed as troops continue to stumble on strange and bizarre objects such as several used and unused condoms as well as charms and amulets of various shapes seen in the captured terrorists’ camps.
“Other common items are syringes (like in homosexuals), test tubes and hand gloves usually found in the rubbles of most of the destroyed camps.
“Apart from chemicals and materials for producing Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) narcotics of all types are also found to be common features as troops combed through camps in Sambisa forest, New Marte, and others.
“Meanwhile, Defence Headquarters (DHQ) Assessment teams are in Yobe and Adamawa States to update the reports on the conduct of security operations in those states since deployment of troops in line with the State of Emergency.
“The outcome will also be presented for DHQ’s further strategic guidelines for the subsequentphase of the operations.”

PoliticsWow!!!!!! Nigerian Develops Solar Cells From Weed (mimosa Pudica by patrick89(op): 4:50pm On May 02, 2013
Some schools are busy receiving "Nigerian ranking while others are busy discovering, inventing and many more!!!
Nigerian develops solar cells from weed (Mimosa pudica)

Mimosa pudica commonly called ‘Touch-me-not’, Sensitive plant’, ‘Humble plant’ or ‘Shameful plant’ because of its reactionto touch, is a weed found throughout the tropics. Apart from its many traditional medicinal uses, a researcher at the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, University of NigeriaNsukka, Pharm. Justus Nwaoga, has discovered that the weed has solar properties suitable for the production of solar cell/electricity. Nwaoga spoke with Vanguard Learning in Ibadan recently. Excerpts:
Solar cell from mimosa extract.
Fascinated by the behaviour of mimosa pudica popularly called kpakorukwu or kpakochuku in Igbo, Pharm. Nwaoga decided to explore the relationship between sunlight and mimosa leaves. “I have always been eager to appreciate thebehaviour of Mimosa pudica. The questionhas been; ‘why do the leaves collapse when touched, only to open again within minutes in daylight?
“I look at the plant as a natural solar plantbecause it opens up in the mornings and closes in the evenings, therefore, must have solar materials in it. The search for knowledge took me to Mimosa locations to find out what happens at nighttime. I observed that the leaves remain folded when bright artificial light is shone on them. It became clear that the plant responds to solar energy, artificial light has no effect on it.
“I believe that the movement of the leaves when touched, is connected with some form of electrical transmission. It can be likened to the behaviour of other living creatures. For example, when a person is touched unexpectedly, electrical impulses are transmitted to the brain, and the person moves with a jerk,” he said.
Isolating the active material:
Nwaoga subsequently, went to work to isolate the particular solar substance in the plant that responds to sunlight alone. “Nature has shown us that there is something there which is in fact, even more sensitive than the regular solar cell.
“The generation of electrical energy with a solar-sensitive isolate from Mimosa pudica was achieved after series of designs to safeguard the electrical properties of the material. To convert the mechanical energy observed as spontaneous movement of the leaves to electrical energy, was an uphill task.
A strong oxidation-reduction reaction wasnoticed in the extract, which quickly dissipated any trapped energy. After several attempts, however, it was possibleto retain some quantum of electrical energy within the cells due to subsequentisolation of the principal compound,” noted Nwaoga.
How it works:
“The innovation is based on constructing bio-accumulators using the electrolytes derived from the mimosa plant. Solar cellsconstructed with the weed extracts and exposed to sunlight were found to accumulate solar energy which was converted to electrical energy,” said Nwaoga who is one of the 10 finalists for the forthcoming Innovation Prize for Africa.
Mimosa pudica plant,
Refusing to give up:
“The only meaningful way of demonstrating the electrical potential of the plant isolate was to use the cells to power an electrical circuit after combiningthe appropriate compound as electrodes. Experiments were performed initially using copper and other metals in turns as electrodes, but these failed.
The conventional copper/zinc electrodes also did not work as the mimosa extract powerfully corroded the zinc plate. At thatstage, the entire aspiration appeared to have turned illusive. Later, however, with more effort, the chemistry of the material was better understood, which guided the generation of steady DC current that lit a 4.5 V lamp.
“With this breakthrough, it was possible to construct a functional mimosa solar panel with the plant extract. The solar panel is designed in such a way that the electrical potential of the cells can be restored on exposure to direct sun rays, after they have been discharged.”
Pharm. Justus Nwaoga
Prototype:
“I have come up with the prototype whichI have presented at so many exhibitions including the 26th European Union Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference andExhibition in Hamburg Germany, and the NUC Research and Development show in Niger State where I came second. Mimosa pudica is now accepted as a new material for solar energy development,” he stated.
On whether solar electricity will be cheaper if generated from this plant than from traditional silicon solar panels, he said; “It will be cheaper. About 0.5ml of one per cent concentration of mimosa extract can give you 0.25 volts or more when properly set. Again, some of the imported solar panels even crash or separate due to the intensity of the sun here.”
Explaining further, Nwaoga said that there are scientific explanations to show that Mimosa pudica has electrical potential, which is energized by the sun’s radiation. “In conventional electricity, when ‘positive’ and ‘negative’ wires touch, there is a spark, and a situation known as short circuit occurs. This interrupts electric current and there may be power outage.
“A similar process is believed to occur in mimosa pudica. When touched, the flow of electricity is interrupted and the leavescollapse. It may well be that a touch on this plant interferes with the flow of electric charges through the conducting parts and root hairs to or from the leaves. It is believed that the solar radiation incident on the leaf surface releases electrons that result in electric current,” he said.
