Coaches are not magicians, the first thing is really players that play a certain way. You can't play ETH's style with McTominay at the base of your midfield hiding from passes. You can with a younger version of Eriksen.

Rashford seems to have forgotten how to combine with team mates for some reason. Hojlund is showing he's not good with the ball on his feet, maybe it's just because he's new. We have no right winger. Talking about injuries, it's the reason we have a large squad. Those guys get paid every week because the club think they can do a job when the first-choice players are unavailable. It is not against Burnley that we should start cooking up excuses. Look at the starting 11 of both teams and tell me which team should keep the ball better and create more chances.

A bad player at Man Utd will easily start every game for Fulham, a team that is better than Burnley.

Fergie did a lot with average players. Some players at City won't be so good away from Pep's system.

I watched City when Pep first joined in a preseason against Arsenal. One thing was evident, his imprints on the football they tried to play. It was his first game but you could easily see what he was on about. I did not need to watch videos of analysis to see whatever he was on about as it was clear for all to see even though the players were not so good. A couple of years after you watch City play you'd see a team that has perfected the Pep style.

It's the second season and from our games, I see nothing to suggest the players train together. I just want to see the team play football that is recognisable just so I know we are headed
somewhere but no, I have not seen anything to suggest we are making progress...Maybe it is me who is not paying attention so, please help explain what you see when you watch us play.

I agree that some of the players we parade are not good enough but how about those at Burnley? How come they kept the ball better and created better chances?

We probably would have played better if we used a midfield of Casemiro, Eriksen anBruno. But the question is would we have won? I seriously doubt. We needed the 3 points and got it. The gameplan no matter how annoying it was worked.

My point is don't compare our team to City's. No one does. A few injuries will only affect them a little. They can field their 2nd team and easily beat anyone. No team has that luxury, even Madrid.

Btw, Ten Hag had a system like that at Ajax also. Mid players looked like world beaters. VDB looked like the next best thing. De ligt looked like something else.

I wouldn't take any player from Burnely. But that's the first team of a manager. That's the team he planned the season with. That's the team he trusts in. That's the team he's chosen. Whatever identity they have, it's at the peak when they're together.


And no, I don't view every criticism of the manager in that light. The agenda is just so obvious when you and the other guys try to downplay the injury problems we're facing.

You are trying too hard to start a 'we vs them' scenario here and it's still not working.

If we played against Liverpool, City, Spurs, Arsenal or even Chelsea then the injury concerns will come into play but no Burnley (Fvcking Burnley!)...We had enough quality to not just win but play better than we did.

Most definitely. If he improves his finishing/shooting he will be a major problem. Dribbling, close control, vision, agility, passing, and speed are all on point. Decision making will naturally improve as he matures.

The fact that he was an academy player at Chelsea yet it's Odoi that they were hyping speaks volumes of the average English football fan...They're too much about pace and power and little brains...
