I assume the victory on Tuesday is the perfect birthday gift, I don't think we can get a good result against City on Sunday.

Our total set up when trying to play out from the back is woeful. It makes us very easy to press.
Then when we press we do it in a timid and disjointed manner like we are not sure.

We often press with only 3 or 4 players which is why even bottom feeder clubs find it ridiculously easy to beat out press while when you watch the top pressing teams they usually do with their front 5 and sometimes a club like City adds Rodri to make it 6.

There are so many obvious problems that the coaching staff are not addressing that it is now looking like we signed a clone of the person who was the Ajax manager. 😄

Its a tiring to watch. Clubs with players who will boot the ball under slight pressure will start looking like Barcelona in their prime when we play them meanwhile when they come up against City, they hardly keep the ball for 2 minutes at a stretch...

ETH has not addressed the challenges I hoped he would when he arrived.

Its the same laziness we have been complaining about. We need the players to keep moving, making that extra burst to go forward, backward or just show up to receive passes, but most just won't. They only display that extra energy in the second half or when they're losing

I was very optimistic when ETH joined the club because I thought he would fix that issue by taking a cue from the way his Ajax team played but nothing has changed since then.

I am very disappointed in ETH because I thought he was that guy who would come in and have our players play with urgency and constant movements, interchanging short passes and all that...

Also, the pattern of goal kick is annoying. What exactly is the reason for Varane passing the ball to Onana when it should be the 2 CBs giving the keeper options on both sides and the DM dropping back as a passing option down the middle while having the two fullbacks push a bit higher giving the keeper at least 5-6 passing options.

It was so easy for Copenhagen to disrupt our passing from the back because of that senseless pattern of play we have adopted.

I don't know if it is the set up but I notice our players are always far apart from each other. It does not make any sense because he does not have players with the passing range to locate teammates far away so, I wonder why ETH won't have them narrow the pitch so the man on the ball will always have passing options.

There are so many more important issues with the team though. Apart from the fact that we are not seeing ETH’s coaching input his next most sackable offence is approving that Antony transfer. The guy coached Antony for years and still thought that buying him for 80m pounds was a good idea.

I can not defend ETH an longer even though I was full of optimism when he joined the club.
