Everyone, including fans of other clubs knew we need to make major signings. This club has not had a reliable DM or holding midfielder in 3-4 years. This coach thought having 70+ possession is guaranteed to win you games in this country, when opponents are ready to sit back and catch you on the break.

Pursued FDJ all summer and fans thought it was cute. Bought another defender without solving the real issue which is still the midfield and full backs. Other positions can wait for next transfer windows.

As long as this set of players remain in the first eleven, this coach won't last in this club

Midfield has been our biggest issue since forever. I remember Fergie had to ask Scholes to come out of retirement to help the team at some point towards the end of Fergie's reign.

The only reason the board will overule this is they're saving costs. They don't want to spend on a position with the need to find a more permanent solution in the next summer or two. Except it's for free.

I was not involved in that argument but even if i was my initial statement this evening was not an attack on the board for overruling him. I only expressed surprise that it could be done cos exercising total control and being overruled are mutually exclusive.

In my opinion, we should get a player who is coming to own the position and not one who will have us relying on the players we already have that are not delivering...Ziyech is not that player, he will be another Mata, a RWF that will prefer drifting into the AM position...
