The mistake was the transfer itself. MacAllister at 30m in the same window was what we should have gone for.

For us to be better in midfield, we either stumble on some cheap player or youngster from academy that randomly started a game, and became evidently better than Enzo off the bat (a Palmer type discovery), or the board accepts that Enzo is a misfit and takes a hit.

The only other option is for Real Madrid or PSG to become obsessed with unlocking him where we cannot. Otherwise, he ain't going anywhere, and he plays every time.

For you to have given up on Enzo means it's that bad...

Why did Amad not square that ball to Sesko? Only Mbeumo plays with some sense of awareness and unselfishness; the rest constantly overhit their passes or make the wrong decisions. It isn't very pleasant.

One critical area of concern on the pitch is the centre. Among all the major clubs in the league, we have the weakest midfield players. Unfortunately, the system that Amorim has implemented is not aiding our performance. His approach relies heavily on having very good wingbacks and energetic midfielders who are comfortable with the ball, but we lack these qualities. For some reason, he has also refused to adjust his formation or tactics to address this issue.

Our players mark as if they're not trying to recover possession, one or two will press while the other will let an opponent move into space to retrieve the ball. When we have the ball, you will see up to four United players, but once an opponent or two choose to press them, they'll immediately go long because we simply can't keep the ball under slight pressure, and it's a big problem. Go and watch how Barcelona, courtesy of De Jong and Pedri, were able to keep the ball for the majority of the 7 minutes extra they played against Newcastle when everyone expected Newcastle to be all over them after Gordon managed to pull a goal back for Newcastle.

Amorim is definitely out of his depths and the sooner the board does the needful, the better.
