Eze in Crystal Palace did more for them than Bowen, but he is not classed as world-class because the demands at Palace do not compare to those in any of the top teams.

Bowen needs to move to a big team where the competition for places and pressure to win games and trophies is high before we begin to rate him in the class of his superiors...At West Ham, the team might win fewer games without a win and nobody will care as long as they're not in the relegation zone...The standard at West Ham is low...

Amorim should use the international break to go through the games we have played so far to see what he needs to correct in the team. The truth is that if a formation is delivering results, nobody will question the formation or ask why certain players are not making the team. An instance is Foden at City but if City keeps dropping points, the press will start talking about Foden.

I talked about the performance of the player in the league (depending on the strength of the league) or in UCL and then consistency over a period of time. They're one-offs where a player can have a great season, where he is unplayable, but fades out after that season. You can say the player was world-class for that season.

When Maldini and Totti played in the Serie A, it was one of the best leagues, so they're indeed world-class. Lahm was excellent in the World Cup and UCL, where the competition is tougher, so he too is world-class, as is Gerrard, one of the best players in the EPL who led Liverpool to a UCL triumph...

You should go back and read what I wrote again.

On a personal note, I think Hazard at his peak was world class because he did it in the EPL which is one of the top leagues around.

Style of play counts. At Chelsea, you guys pass the ball in your half for most of the game, meaning your midfielders get to touch the ball a lot in what are mostly sideways passes.

At Pool, they play more on the front foot, the midfielders get the ball and immediately look to feed the forwards or drive forward...

We watch both players every other weekend, no way is Caicedo better at passing, chance creation or driving with the ball than Gravenberch.
