drisham: Lol
He doesn't You can cross check those metrics yourself Style of play counts. At Chelsea, you guys pass the ball in your half for most of the game, meaning your midfielders get to touch the ball a lot in what are mostly sideways passes. At Pool, they play more on the front foot, the midfielders get the ball and immediately look to feed the forwards or drive forward... We watch both players every other weekend, no way is Caicedo better at passing, chance creation or driving with the ball than Gravenberch. |

Comprehension is a thing. We created most of our chances from counterattacks...You either come with facts to disprove the claim or you remain mute. This idea of beating around the bush does not cut it...
Nobody gets paid for winning an argument, I guess we all want the best for the team, so when someone drops an opinion, it is best to counter with a superior argument. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 11:33am On Aug 31, 2025 |
ovoP: You guys should relax with the system creating chances. We create more chances from counter attacks and chaotic football which we often result to when team attacks us. Let's not act like the system has been creating clear cut chances. Majority of the chances we created are courtesy of accurate long balls to our forwards when we retrieve possession in our half or when we counter attack at speed. We still struggle to break opponents down when they don't come out to play and that is why I think we need more bodies in attack. No reason to play Shaw - De ligt and Yoro when De Ligt and Yoro can easily do the job. |

It is easy to come here and say there is nothing wrong with the formation, but at the end of the day, 3 pts is all that counts and that is what we got yesterday...
I have defended Amorim on this board for quite some time, but he doesn't seem to learn. Against the top teams, when we play with 3 CBs, we look very dangerous because we sit deep (Community defending) and hit them on the break...Against weaker teams who will rather park the bus, the whole essence of parading 3 CBs is defeated because for the most part of the game, they are left with little to do. If they're not contributing to our forward play, it will make more sense to replace a CB with a CF and let us have a Bruno - Casemiro - Mount/Mainoo/Zirkzee midfield supporting the attack...
At several instances yesterday, Shaw, De Ligt and Yoro had just one CF to contend with, but the 3 of them spent most of the game camped in our half instead of pushing high up the pitch to join the play or press the Burnley midfielders... |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 2:52am On Aug 31, 2025 |
We need to buy a new goalkeeper before the transfer window closes. I can imagine what the defenders are thinking whenever we are under attack, the thought of the team conceding once you are dribbled past (because you know the goalkeeper is shit) is enough to make you panic...
We concede cheap goals, and at the other end, we always fail to take our chances...Amad is a major culprit here; he should improve his composure in front of the goal...
Amorim should give one of the CBs the licence to push higher up the pitch since he has sworn to stick to his preferred formation...
Dalot is still brainless even though he tried...Amorim and the coaches should have either Shaw or De Ligt as our leader in defence. At one point, I was not sure what we were trying to do with that comical play to catch Burnley forward offside. The communication among the back 3/5 should be better... |

TrebleChamp: 343 is the problem cos United do not have the right personnel to play it effectively, the board should force Amorim to switch formation let see if it works. It shouldn't be too hard to do nah... We do not have good wing backs and our midfielders do not have the legs....Amorim can not be so slow as not to know this... |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 9:17pm On Aug 28, 2025 |
Jamiuokolaa: I suspect that the club management were not prepared to make changes...atleast not this early in the season...hence the perceived delay.
From a financial perspective, it could also be that they are waiting for him to resign, since he appears to be considering that option already.
If Amorim is to be sacked, his whole coaching crew would most likely be dismissed too.
I think it was a bit easier last season with Ruud, a professional coach serving as one of ETH's assistants. Amorim is just too stubborn. Arteta went and got Gabriel Heinze to add to his coaching team. Pep went for the former assistant of Klopp... Top coaches are always looking for how best way to strengthen their crew...Amorim should swallow his pride and get a good goalkeeping and set-piece coach...Teams are now very scared when they concede a corner against Arsenal, that's purely down to the excellent job of their set-piece coach... |

Jamiuokolaa: For starters, If Bayern finished 4th last season, he most likely would be jobless as we speak. You can imagine his fate if they finished 10th, let alone 15th position under his watch. He would have been assassinated.
Per adventure, he use juju continue this season after such an abysmal record last term and was trailing 0-2 to a 4th division team after the club's £300m investment in players and facilities, he would have been dismissed at half time.

Bombblacks: We made top 2 with Fred and mctominay in midfield and none of those two are better than any of our current midfield options in central midfield. I feel like people highlighting the midfield options are only looking for excuses to absolve Amorim for being clueless. Any descent manager would make this squad finish top 5 comfortably. Nothinham Forrest nearly did that last season with a squad that finished 16 the previous year. Bros, I will rejoice if we get a manager who can make Ugarte, Casemiro, Bruno and Mainoo click...I want the team to win games and top trophies...If we get a manager who can do that with our current charges, fine, but if it means we have to go to the market, I'm fine... |

afrodoc: No wahala.
How Amorim and Wilcox thought they could go into this season with that midfield and those GKs is beyond me.
The reasonable thing to do is to play Tom Heaton in goal for our next game. Let’s see if shame will allow them to do it. I wonder why a fan will look at that midfield and boldly say it is enough to make the top 5...Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Newcastle have better midfielders. |
