Against Grimsby, what are 3 CBs doing on the pitch? It's not like your wingback are prime Alba and Alves... |
See Onana... |
"How can we be a dark nation when we have diamonds shining amongst us". This is powerful... |
That he forfeited the money and properties does not mean he should evade justice. Let him be jailed accordingly, else the next man will do the same, knowing that he/she can just forfeit a share of their loot and they're free... There needs to be serious consequences for looting. |
TrebleChamp:Let's keep it respectful... |
TrebleChamp and Odizeey abeg make una calm down... |
GloriousGbola:Wahala...😂 😂 😂 |
MRTA7:Dalot? I don't want to see that guy again, not even against Grimsby... |
Lol |
CrystalTiger, you say "Swiftly"? 😂 😂 😂 |
Hedonisco:I bet you, they were at the scene but refused to act fast waiting to get paid first. Human life should be worth more than anything. |
Jamiuokolaa:Personal issues I think...He has been very quiet. |
Jamiuokolaa:Rather, Carrick for an interim basis, and that's if he will take the offer. |
afrodoc2:Enrique will need an overhaul. Nagelsmann will be a good choice but I am not sure he can manage our players or the pressure that comes with the job... |
Jamiuokolaa:Southgate? Instead let's bring back Ole or stick with Amorim... |
Jamiuokolaa:I am thinking of the Palace coach but I don't know if he can handle the step up...Enrique will be available next season, we might want to wait for him or tempt him with a move now. |
Jamiuokolaa:I really don't think his abilities is limited because his diagnosis of our issues are always spot on...It's more above his ego, arrogance and stubbornness as you rightly put it. |
Jamiuokolaa:Very unreasonable... |
Slot should take out all the Liverpool players on yellow because for every tackle, the home fans will pressure the ref to take further action. |
eph12:Well, maybe but we just have to start bagging the 3 pts...We are already 5 pts off the pace, you might say it is early days but then, nobody waits for you... |
Enzo5:Barnes has lost that extra yard of pace he once had at Leicester. |
eph12:The performance in the home loss gave us the feeling that we could go to Craven Cottage and leave with 3 points in the bag... |
We need two midfielders because I don't trust Casemiro, Ugarte is shit, Mount is not a footballer and Bruno is the midfield version of Dalot...Mainoo has to start vs Burnley. |
Removing Amad for Dalot at that time invited pressure. Even more criminal is removing Casemiro for Sesko...At that point, we had Bruno and Mount in midfield... In his post-match interview, he talked about Bruno not being in the game but yet he played for the entirety of the game. Does it make sense? Will Mainoo be on the pitch up to 60 minutes if he had such a disaster of a game? This is the same thing Bin Laden was doing with Maguire and Rashford, they'll play rubbish every other match but will never be dropped. Amorim should continue... |
spillo1:The subs were made to preserve our lead and not to push Fulham back. Amorim made 5 changes, of the five, only one was an attacking change, the rest were purely defensive...Removing Amad for Amad was defensive. Mount for Ugarte was defensive, Heaven and Maguire were also defensive subs...The subs sent a message to Fulham that we were looking at preserving our lead and invited even more pressure. I can understand the idea behind bringing on Ugarte and Dalot (I would not make that sub if I were Amorim, though), but definitely not Heaven and Maguire...Imagine if Amorim brought in Mainoo and Zirkzee instead...Fulham would've gone defensive... Now, the above is based on the subs Amorim made. In his position, I would have brought on Sesko, Mainoo and Ugarte around the hour mark for Mount, Bruno and Casemiro. As the game wore on and depending on the score, I would decide whether to introduce more defenders or attackers. If we were leading, then Maguire and Dalot for De Ligt and Amad would have been my move around the 80th minute, but if we were chasing a winner, I'd have brought in Maguire and Zirkzee for Shaw and Amad/Mbeumo... |
spillo1:You think the subs were spot on? |
afrodoc:To make things easier...😂 😂 😂 I don't care whether we play Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs and Newcastle or not...He must win them since Fulham is too small... |
I felt we could build on the performance against Arsenal but Amorim just showed that he is not willing to learn... He has to go...If he doesn't win the next 5 games, he should be shown the door...I expect that by now we should start contacting possible replacements...The earlier, the better. |
engrelvis:Then he is not ready for the job... |
If I were Sir Jim Ratcliffe, I would call Amorim to my office and tell him that if he doesn't change formation for the next game, he is off... What is the essence of playing 3 CBs when your defence is still porous? If he were flexible to instruct on the CBs to push higher up into midfield, it would have been better, but no, we are being overrun in midfield almost always, but Amorim is still insistent that we must play the same way. I don't understand why someone will be failing yet still be very arrogant and stubborn... We were supposed to be pushing for a winner yesterday but his subs gave Fulham the impetus to attack even more. Imagine if Marco Silva saw Zirkzee and Mainoo coming on for Shaw and Bruno...Definitely, Fulham would have reacted by bringing on a defensive-minded player but no, Silva brought in attack-minded players just because they could smell blood with our cowardly approach... |
There's an interview where Bruno said this season he hopes the press talks less about him and more about the club...He was implying that he would play in midfield and be less effective in the final 3rd, meaning fewer goals and assists, but he seems to have forgotten all that. We have a free kick in our 18-yard box, and it's Bruno who shows up to take it. We have a penalty and it's Bruno...I am sick and tired of that guy... |
It is troubling that we immediately go on the defensive once the opponent steps up their game. I don't know if it's psychological but I swear I have seen it over and over again. The three CBs begin to be scared of leaving our 18-yard box, the midfielders drop deep, and the strikers are found in the middle of the pitch. In the second half, Fulham were camped in our half of the pitch because as soon as we got the ball, we lost it again. We had/have no calm head in the middle who can receive the ball under pressure, keep his calm to find the next man or drive past a couple of challenges to take the team forward... Iwobi drifted to the middle to over the midfield, so while we have a lot of bodies in our 18-yard box, they had just one or two Fulham players to contend with, leaving our midfield terribly exposed. In that instance, it's either Amorim instructed one of the CBs to push higher up into the midfield or remove one of them for a midfielder. The idea of playing 3 - 4 - 3 for the entirety of a game is stupid to say the least. The opponents study our game and make tactical adjustments, while he keeps it the same way for 90 minutes... Amorim has not achieved too much in his young career to be so rigid and stubborn...Changing formation does not mean his preferred system has been found out, it is simply reacting to the demands of the game. Alonso is now playing 4 2 3 - 1 or 4-3-3, even though he achieved a lot playing 3-4-2-1 in Bayer Leverkusen. Comparing the German and Portuguese leagues, one would expect that it is Alonso who should be this stubborn in insisting it must be the method he used in Leverkusen or nothing, after all, the Bundesliga is a far superior league to the Portuguese Primeira Liga. |
