grin wicked guy.

Maybe Lukaku will come back lean and fit. And he'll have developed a first touch like Berbatov's!
Hehehe the chances of him coming back better are as slim as our chances of winning the UCL...

We usually look better without Lukaku upfront because the other strikers are more mobile and as such allows others to play off of them by drawing defenders out of position.

You can't play possession football with Lukaku because he'll lose the ball in tight spaces due to his horrible first touch. Also he hardly wins aerial duels with defenders from GKs. In our last match Pogba was saddled with that responsibility and despite being shorter than Lukaku, he executed that duty well.

But despite all these, I don't think Mourinho is ready to bin the Belgian. He offers more defensively than other attackers and that seems to be the number one quality Mourinho looks for in all his players, strikers included.
Well, let's enjoy his absence while he is away.

Hard to say. Mou has always preferred brawn over brain. And he's got his favorites.

I opt to see injury as the reason for Lukaku's recent omissions, not the thought (or hope) that Mou might be binning him. He might be back before you know it and Rashford n Martial will return to their reserved places on the bench. Alexis, Lingard and Luks are his favorite attackers.

When Matic got injured at the beginning of the season Perreira started a couple of games or so. Since Matic's return he's barely managed 30 mins on the pitch, not to talk of a starting berth.
You have a point, but we have since looked better without him in the 11.
Also, Pereira should be playing more, Mourinho has this tendency to over work certain players, he has done it with Lukaku and Matic, those guys need a break at some point.

I think we have looked better collectively without Lukaku in the starting 11.

Worldclass for Liverpool and A.c. Milan yes....but total rubbish players for cfc!

I am sure you will not find many cfc fans on NL claiming Torres and shev were World class players for cfc!

Case closed!
I have clearly stated that indeed he is world class but hasn't done enough at United, we are saying the same team...
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 10:01am On Nov 07, 2018

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 10:00am On Nov 07, 2018
When Torres couldn't deliver for Chelsea like he did at Liverpool, we all heard he was a world class player out of form, same with Shevchenko at Chelsea.
Pogba has delivered for Juventus and France, you can't question it, he has only been inconsistent at United...

Please follow my previous post, Pogba is.world class but he hasn't done enough at United...
If you started watching football today, you'd look at Modric and Kross as well as Erikson who is now almost a regular on the Spurs bench and think they aren't world class.
Pogba at Juve and the world cup proves something isn't right at United.

And Who are the contemporaries you are comparing pogba with?
Pogba is world class but he has somehow not been able to put up world class performances for Manchester United consistently.
You can't argue about that.
Talking contemporaries, talk Modric, Kroos, Erikson etc.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 11:44am On Nov 06, 2018
We also need to understand that when we talk about world class, we should place the player in context vis-a-vis his contemporaries who are still active.
How people look at Pogba and start comparing him with the likes of Scholes, Xavi and the likes who have since retired is beyond me. In term of his active contemporaries, Pogba is definitely world class.
If we go by what most folks are bringing up here, then we might have to start comparing Ramos with Maldini, Nesta etc to see how good he is...
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 11:39am On Nov 06, 2018
Is Pogba world class? Yes...
Has he been consistently delivering world class performances for Manchester United? No, this is down to several factors from his sometimes nonchalant attitude to the managers negative set in most fixtures.

I have watched Tottenham, CFC, Arsenal and Liverpool. I can excuse CFC as they were very new at the time. I will see United as well. No difference. All were severely outplayed at their home stadiums.
Spurs played very well and at least deserved a point, Arsenal were still getting used to new methods, they drew at Anfield so I don't get what you are on about.

Winning the league is not the issue. The manner in which the difficulty of the premier league is being demystified by Pep is what we are talking about. Southampton is supposed to be a team in which one should struggle to win 2-1 or 3-1 on your good day. Not to beat them 6-1 and the scoreline still flatters them (as it should have been worse). Haba.
Have you watched Sutton of late?

Fact, Fred is always looking up for the pass but the poor movement of our attackers and team generally is stalling our play.

This showing up at the second half started last season, we just didn’t notice it or we put it on ‘we only come alive when we go behind’. Whichever way it is, Mou and his boys needs to find a way to stop it. The first half is as important as the second half. Remember what happened at Etihad last season?

It’s really unbecoming.
True, I hope we turn up for the full 90 mins in Turin and City as well.

May be Mourinho doesn't come with a plan anymore, he fixes things at half time.
Lol I don't want to even imagine this was the case but it seems so because we always do better in the second half, the first half is more like an assessment of the opposition...Against the big teams, we will be punished.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 9:18am On Nov 04, 2018
Should we just accept that we will always be poor in the first half of games? It's a serious concern, Bournemouth would've had the game dead and buried if they took their chances earlier on.
Next weekend, we are up against City, we can't for any reason afford to start slow again.

Against Chelsea, Martial worked more with other players than Shaw.

The defenders should be ashamed that wingers are better in their defensive positions, and given the arm band.

Since Ferguson left, no player is been able to do what Young did for us when he played number 11 position (left wing) under Gaal. He was the reason we beat Liverpool, Tottenham, City, etc silly that season. But for injury to Rojo, he was drafted to left back where Shaw, Blind were under performing. Shaw had to be allowed to play now because he is young with many years ahead of him. And he is hyped by the media. Mourinho using him to win the media.
What has arm band got to do? Maybe Kane should be ashamed Lloris is the captain.
Young like Valencia were utterly useless as forwards hence their somewhat demotion to fullbacks.
And for your info, Young only found a place in the team when Shaw was out injured, now Shaw is back to full fitness and has displaced him just as Dalot will get back and displace the jack of all positions but master of none...Black John Oshea
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 9:09pm On Nov 03, 2018
We are obviously watching a different Shaw, he cbines better with his LWF...
You are always looking out for the negatives but won't acknowledge whenever he does well. His combination play with Martial is much better than Young, Martial is scoring you know...When he wasn't scoring you heaped the blame on Shaw but now he's on fire, you have dropped that line.

For now, it's one fluke season untill he proves otherwise.
